Quick Facts About Sweets Grill

Sweets Grill has several strengths based on the comments provided. Firstly, the breakfast at the grill is praised as excellent and reasonably priced. The medium breakfast option, in particular, is said to be sufficient with two of everything. Additionally, the food is freshly cooked, indicating that it is prepared to order and not pre-made.
The Freak shakes offered at Sweets Grill are also mentioned positively. Customers enjoy the variety of ingredients included in the shake, such as fizzy unicorn pencils, Haribo bears, marshmallows, Nutella, and bubble gum sauce. This unique offering adds to the appeal of the restaurant and provides customers with a fun and indulgent treat.
Furthermore, the friendly staff at Sweets Grill are consistently commended. Customers mention that the staff is helpful, welcoming, and provides excellent customer service. This is an important strength as friendly and attentive staff can greatly enhance the dining experience.
The update in December 2021 highlights a fantastic burger and a massive medium breakfast. This positive feedback indicates that Sweets Grill continues to deliver high-quality meals and satisfy customers. The absence of any complaints suggests that the food and service are consistently good.
Another strength mentioned is the taste of the fries. According to the update in January 2023, the fries are described as even better, with a crisp outside and a soft inside. This indicates that the restaurant continues to improve and refine its dishes, ensuring a satisfying experience for customers.
In terms of weaknesses, one customer mentions that the sausages at Sweets Grill are tasteless. This is a potential area for improvement as flavorful sausages can greatly enhance the overall quality of a breakfast.
Another weakness mentioned is the coffee served with the breakfast. The comment advises against getting the coffee as it is made from powder. This suggests that the quality of the coffee does not meet the expectations of the customers. However, the suggestion to opt for the espresso versions indicates that alternatives are available for those who prefer a better-quality coffee.
A common concern mentioned by multiple customers is the lack of table service. It is noted that the restaurant switched to self-ordering due to COVID-19 and has not reverted to table service. This may detract from the overall dining experience for some customers who prefer a more traditional table service setting.
In addition, the price increase is mentioned as a weakness. While it is acknowledged that costs have gone up, some customers express disappointment at the affordability of the breakfast compared to previous visits. This may impact the frequency of their visits to the restaurant.
Lastly, one customer mentions that the cafe can be difficult to locate, with a sign leading to the left instead of straight on. This presents a small inconvenience for customers trying to find the restaurant, potentially affecting their overall experience.
In summary, Sweets Grill has several strengths, including excellent and reasonably priced breakfast options, friendly staff, unique Freak shakes, and consistently good food. However, weaknesses such as tasteless sausages, powdered coffee, lack of table service, a price increase, and difficulty in locating the restaurant should be addressed to further improve the overall dining experience.

Best TL Reviews

Excellent breakfast on a caravan site. Very reasonably priced. Medium breakfast (£9.50) is fine for most as it has 2 of everything. Sausages are a little tasteless. Freshly cooked. Freak shakes (£5.00) include the unicorn which includes fizzy unicorn pencils, haribo bears, marshmallows, Nutella, and bubble gum sauce. Coffee with the breakfast is powder so advise not getting it. Go for the espresso versions.
Update Dec 2021
Returned for a Christmas Brunch up. Fantastic burger. Massive medium breakfast. Super friendly staff. Nothing to fault!
Update Jan 2023
Still brilliant. The fries tasted even better. Crisp on the outside, soft in the middle.
Been to sweets a few times and the food never disapoints. Only real criticism is the lack of table service, think it became an order yourself place due to covid and never changed back. I could be wrong on this as never went pre covid. Second thing would be the price increase. It seems to have taken quite a sharp rise in price, I appreciate costs of everything going up but a fry up used to be affordable. These days not so much. Will go back but less often due to the cost.
Very nice lil cafe to have breakfast or lunch! Allways friendly. Probably my first choice to have lunch locally. Prices have gone up a little bit
Stunning! Best breakfasts ???? Veggie option for me was spot on, lovely coffee, friendly service and nice decor! Will definitely be back ????
I couldn't decide if this was 4 or 5 stars, but on balance I've given it 5.
Finding Sweets Grill was a little tricky. The sign at the gate shows to the left and it was straight on.
The entrance road and large, flat car park are shale covered.
Sweets Grill is situated on the mobile home site and maybe serves as a community hub as well as a café.
I went on a weekday, mid morning. It wasn't too busy, and I ordered sausages, scrambled eggs on toast with tea. You can order at the counter or at your table. I paid cash in advance and it was £4.
My table had a nice view out the back doors to the lake, where there's quite a lot of ducks and geese. You can feed them if you like and bird seed is provided free.
My table was clean and well laid out, but the fabric seat was covered in crumbs and a bit dusty, but otherwise all good.
The food arrived quite quickly, fresh cooked. Very good. Lovely flavour eggs, sausages tasty and the right texture. The mug of tea was fine. For the £4, very good value.
The two ladies who served me were just the right balance of friendly and professional.
There didn't appear to be toilets inside the café, but I did see some on the edge of the car park.
The entrance is step free and the tables could accommodate a wheelchair. Getting from a car to the café might be tricky with the shale surface.
I would quite happily eat here again.
Great greeting. Food great price and good. No complaints
After spending an hour looking for traditional breakfast came upon this little place. Its not the easiest to locate but well worth the search. The food was absolutely lovely, fresh and filling. The price was good too.
Whenever we go to Cornwall this is the place for breakfast, yes there are better looking cafes but none with such good food and excellent customer service, well done guys, you never disappoint
