We stayed at the Derby Arms for a couple of nights over a weekend. We thought it was a really friendly pub, clearly a big part of the local community. Excellent rooms above the pub, really comfortable and well-furnished. We really enjoyed the food too, especially the seafood, and the breakfasts are excellent. All in all a lovely place to spend a few days, lots to do in the local area too. Would recommend!
Lovely atmosphere and venue. Service was good also. The food was hearty and fresh although portions were a little on the small side for our appetites. I felt the bill was a bit steep at £170 with only 5 eating and 1 drinking alcohol (£23 for 2 glasses of wine)!! Would go again but only after a small lottery win ????????
Great cosy modern country pub. Staff all very friendly and helpful. Food slightly on the expensive side but very good so you don't mind. Had small children with us but didn't feel judged and the front of house made an effort with them which is refreshing. Thanks for a nice Sunday lunch. Will be back soon.
I stayed here for a few nights back in June, on a work trip. It was incredibly fortunate that this was the most local place we were able to stay, as it was absolutely fantastic! The room was tidy and smart, and the bathroom perfectly fine. The bed, however, was fantastic! I often struggle to sleep in new places, however I slept like a log both nights! Despite being on the side of a fast country road, the traffic noise was minimal too. I found I needed to keep the window open a little due to it being summer, but that wasn't an issue. The view from said window was also very lovely.
Like the room, the food was also top notch! Delicious all around! Breakfast service was a little slow on the first morning, but this wasn't a huge issue.
All in all, I would most definitely stay here again, and pay for the pleasure too!
Recently took a friend to lunch on Sunday…. Food generally ok but very pricey, only had main course, no starter , sweet or alcohol. Bill was £75 for 3 people, service poor…. Had to ‘catch’ waitress on her way to kitchen first for sauces we wanted then ordering coffee afterwards. No interest in customers sadly .
Stayed on a ,stay for free package. £129 food and drink and overnight stay. Everything about the stay was first class food was superb, iam very fussy about how my steak is cooked. And it was cooked to perfection, very friendly staff made it a perfect stay. And would 100% recommend.
Enjoyed a one night stay on bed breakfast and evening g meal. Excellent value and food was second to none. Would stay again
We visited for lunch, the service and food were okay but all vastly overpriced. None of us were drinking and the bill at the end was extortionate for the quality of the food. Also they add an additional service charge to the bill which isn't clearly highlighted, I would have removed if I knew.
