Quick Facts About The Granite City
The Granite City place at the Aberdeen airport has several strengths that make it a convenient and enjoyable place for travelers. One strength is its location within the airport. Being situated in the airport allows travelers to easily access the restaurant without having to leave the premises. This is particularly beneficial for those who still need to go through security and cannot check in their luggage yet. Furthermore, the restaurant's location makes it a convenient place for travelers to spend time while waiting for their flights.
The friendliness of the staff is another strength of The Granite City place. Multiple comments mention the friendly and welcoming nature of the personnel. This level of service, particularly from Steven, is highly praised and appreciated by customers, as it shows that the staff goes above and beyond to ensure that customers have a pleasant experience. The positive service helps create a welcoming atmosphere for patrons and adds value to their overall dining experience.
In terms of pricing, The Granite City place is regarded as having moderate prices for an airport restaurant. While it is common for prices to be inflated in airport establishments, this restaurant offers reasonable prices, making it an attractive option for travelers who want to enjoy a meal or a drink without breaking the bank. This affordability is seen as a strength of the place, as it allows individuals to have a satisfying dining experience without feeling overcharged.
The quality of the food at The Granite City place is generally considered satisfactory. While one comment mentions that the food is "okay", it is important to note that this assessment may be influenced by the inflated expectations that can come with dining at an airport. Considering the constraints of an airport environment, where logistics and sourcing ingredients may be more challenging, the quality of the food is deemed to be acceptable. Additionally, the fact that the food is served at the table adds to the overall dining experience and is appreciated by customers.
Despite these strengths, The Granite City place also has some weaknesses that should be addressed. One weakness mentioned in a comment is the appearance of worn-out seats, indicating the need for refurbishment. Ensuring that the seating area remains clean and well-maintained is important for creating a positive ambiance for customers. By addressing this issue and investing in updating the seating, The Granite City place could enhance the overall customer experience.
Another weakness mentioned in a comment is the poor service experienced by a customer. The individual highlights the lack of friendliness from the staff, as well as the poor quality of the food that was served. These issues indicate a failure in staff training and management. It is crucial for the restaurant to address these concerns and ensure that all staff members are trained to provide friendly and efficient service. Additionally, improving the quality control of food before it is served can help prevent instances of burnt or inedible dishes.
In conclusion, The Granite City place at the Aberdeen airport has several strengths, including its convenient location, friendly staff, moderate prices, and satisfactory quality of food. These factors contribute to a positive dining experience for travelers. However, the presence of worn-out seats and instances of poor service highlight areas for improvement. By addressing these weaknesses and focusing on maintaining a high level of service and customer satisfaction, The Granite City place can continue to attract and retain customers in the highly competitive airport dining industry.

Convenient place to while away a few hours waiting for check-in, much shorter times before the flight, so if you get there too early, this is the place to spend your time with anything you desire.
A welcoming place to enjoy a drink and some food whilst waiting at the airport. I often grab a coffee and reply to emails whilst waiting for a flight. Great service from Steven. Nothing was too much, and he made sure I had everything I needed. It is great to see this level of service from the team.
Wanted to get a regular cappuccino but staff were already aware of my order and made the coffee for me ???? ,friendly staff and highly recommend , 5 star service
I had to wait for my flight , the whole team was very nice. Brigita, Steven and Kamil made sure I had a nice time and provided excellent service and drinks.
It has to be okay as it's the only place to get a coffee or a beer before you check in, as always in airports prices are inflated. Overall coffee was decent, it was clean but a bit tired with some of the seats looking a bit tatty.
I had a bad experience at this poorly managed dreary cafe last week. At least 6 young people (waiters? Cleaners? - hard to tell, as no greeting smiles from any of them ) shuffling about and chatting; yet the service was very poor. Only 3 customers. I ordered a drink and toastie and chips. The girl was not particularly polite or friendly. After a long wait it was served but smelled burned and sure enough underneath both pieces of toast were completely charred and inedible. How any chef could have let this food leave the kitchen I don’t know. When I pointed this out to a waiter it was rather grudgingly returned to the kitchen with no smile or apology. I asked if it could be a bit quicker as I had a plane to catch and the answer was ‘we are short staffed in the kitchen, only one chef’. I asked for the manager and enquired why when they had a total of 6 staff they couldn’t serve a simple toastie properly nor give the ghost of an apology. I asked for a refund and left. Extremely depressed to think of the losses this depressing place must suffer for lack of proper management and lack of staff training.
