Quick Facts About The High Street Cafe
The High Street Cafe has a mix of strengths and weaknesses based on the comments provided.
Starting with the strengths, one of the most prominent positive aspects of the cafe is the customer service. Multiple comments mention how warm, friendly, and accommodating the staff is. Customers appreciate the attention they receive, such as being seated by the owner, receiving ice cream on the side when asked, and having their food divided into two plates. The staff is also praised for their quick response to issues, such as replacing a spilled hot chocolate without any fuss.
The taste and quality of the food is another strength noted by customers. Dishes like the Nutella crepe, lotus biscoff waffle, Oreo waffle, and red velvet cake are mentioned as being delicious and unmatched in taste. The crepes, in particular, receive positive feedback for their flavors when combined with banana, syrup, and ice cream. The cafe is recommended based on the gastronomic experience it offers.
The atmosphere and location of the cafe are also seen as positive aspects. Customers mention that the cafe is cozy and situated in the center of Oxford with a beautiful view. The environment is described as warm and comforting. These factors contribute to a pleasant dining experience.
Moving on to the weaknesses, one common complaint is the high prices. The cafe is described as expensive and overpriced, with one customer mentioning that a single crepe with a little Nutella costs £7. This can be a deterrent for some customers, especially those looking for more affordable options.
In terms of performance, a few customers express disappointment. One comment mentions weak performance, while another mentions a miscommunication with the chefs that led to the wrong food being served. These incidents suggest that there may be occasional issues with consistency and communication within the cafe.
Another weakness mentioned is the lack of taste in the crepes on their own. Customers state that the crepes only become tasty when combined with toppings like banana, syrup, and ice cream. This suggests that the crepes themselves may lack flavor and may need additional ingredients to enhance their taste.
Lastly, a minor complaint is mentioned about the cafe being cold inside during a visit in December. This suggests that the temperature control within the cafe may need improvement to provide a comfortable dining experience.
In conclusion, The High Street Cafe has strengths in its customer service, taste of the food, and pleasant atmosphere. However, weaknesses include high prices, occasional performance issues, lack of taste in the crepes on their own, and temperature control. Overall, it seems that the strengths outweigh the weaknesses, as customers generally recommend the cafe and express satisfaction with their experience.

Teuer, schwache Leistung, eine Enttäuschung
Eine einzelne Crêpe mit ein wenig nutella für 7£
Lovely small cafe, with very warm and nice staff. Ordered the Nutella crepe, which was super tasty and a good size. The woman gave us ice cream on the side with our crepe when asked also. Great customer service and really good desserts, would recommend.
As soon as we walked in the cafe we were welcomed by a friendly waitress and we were also introduced to the owner of the restaurant who guided us to our table by the window. Upon ordering we noticed that they had a lotus biscoff waffle but not a milkshake, however, we requested a lotus milkshake and they kindly accepted. We also ordered a single serving of cool strawberries crepe but we had told the waitress that it was between the two of us. Soon after we received our food and to our surprise it was nicely divided into two plates - Both with a scoop of ice cream and whip cream! love the environment of the restaurant very warm and comforting. Kasme ratings!
My sister and I visited this cafe and ordered a banana split crepe and an Oreo waffle. To say that we were impressed would be an understatement. The taste was unparalleled - we have never had anything quite like it before. I highly recommend trying the food at High Street Cafe if you haven't already, because you are truly missing out on a gastronomic experience. In addition to the delectable food, the service was impeccable. The two young ladies who attended to us were incredibly friendly and engaging, and the gentleman at the tills was also kind and accommodating. My younger sister accidentally spilled my hot chocolate, but he promptly gave me a replacement without any fuss. Overall, our experience at this cafe was outstanding and we look forward to returning soon.
Service okay but waiter was distracted when taking our order. My friend received the wrong food and had to send it back. Was told it was a miscommunication with the chefs.
Cozy cafe in the center of Oxford with beautiful view.
I visited it in December. Was cold inside, I didn't take of my coat.
Coffee is strong (as I like) and tasty.
Crepes can be better... Unfortunately the crepes has no taste. Only because of banana, syrup and ice-cream it was tasty.
The stuff was friendly.
Actually I like this place, but it can be better. That's why not 5⭐.
The first time going to this cafe and was really impressed with the service and the food. We had a Panini and then the lovely red velvet cake. The manager and the team were very pleasant and would highly recommend this cafe.
