One guest specifically mentions being kept awake by the noise from the room above. This suggests that the hotel may have some issues with soundproofing in certain areas.

Additionally, another guest mentions that their car was left unlocked overnight by hotel staff. These concerns suggest that the hotel may need to improve its parking arrangements and ensure the security of guests' vehicles.
6. Poor customer service: One review details a negative experience with customer service, including unauthorized charges, difficulty in obtaining a refund, and a lack of available management to address the issue. This suggests that the hotel may need to improve its customer service practices and ensure prompt and effective communication with guests.
In conclusion, The Kenilworth place has a number of strengths, including excellent customer service, a convenient location, nice rooms, good drinks, and a cosy atmosphere. However, there are also some weaknesses, such as noise issues, bathroom refurbishment needs, limited breakfast options, shabby rooms, parking issues, and poor customer service. Addressing these weaknesses could help improve the overall guest experience and make The Kenilworth place an even more attractive option for visitors.

Give the man Steve at the front a pay raise! He was the nicest guy ever. We were two tired Americans who walked in and needed a room, and he was so wonderful and kind to us. Everyone in the hotel was, really, even the bartender..I have family that lives in the area, and next time we visit, we will only stay here. Cheers!
Great service! All three folks I dealt with were amazing. Steve at the front desk was very helpful. Nice rooms, good drinks, excellent location. I'll see them again for sure
It was so lovely to be welcomed so warmly after a very long drive. The cocktails were amazing and the room cosy and comfortable with a fabulous bathroom. Would definitely stay again.
Me and the Mrs had a bad experience here and it was not what we expected. I slept poorly due to hallway lights being left on all night and the room being very bright along with an extractor fan which stayed running for far too long. Our room was above the bar and the music and bar customers was very loud until 11.30pm. The bathroom needs a refurb and it wasn't possible to stand up having a shower so I had to have a shower sitting in the bath, a very odd experience. At night I stubbed my toe on a loose floor tile by the toilet where the grout is no longer holding it in place. The parking situation was laughable as we didnt want to get blocked in or an early awakening to move the car we ended up parking on the street adjacent. The breakfast did not accommodate my wife's allergies/intolerance so we gave that a miss too. Overall very disappointed and would not recommend.
Booked a couple of nights here for a little break. The staff at the hotel are very friendly and helpful.
Our room was number 9 as we upgraded to the suite. However our first impression was" oh its very brown and dull" needs to be decorated! The linen was lovely, the towels lovely and the elemis products fabulous! It was very clean too. We never used the cocktail bar as we went and eat out. We're not big cocktail drinkers either. The parking ok at the back of the hotel. We stayed in the house. It was very quite.
We wouldn't stay there again as I like a more luxurious room. The ensuite was nice with a large shower, but again needs a paint and the blind was rusty.
The Good
Nice place. Rooms are very nice. Clean, stylish. Bed comfortable. Room was dark and cool. Nice bathroom with good shower. Cool bar with really nice staff. Generally a great place and well worth a stay.
The Bad
Room above mine must have had a hard floor. Every step was a loud bang. I was therefore kept awake til late and woken up early by the person above me. That’s a major problem. Most rooms won’t have that problem I believe - I was unlucky. I was in room 8.
Breakfast needs work. It was very basic and no offer of tea or juice unless you ask the reluctant attendant.
I would recommend it for sure but they should work on breakfast and you should make sure you don’t sleep in room 8.
rooms are shabby and don’t look as they do online.
Secure car parking means your car is blocked in by other guests and hotel staff have to keep moving your car to let others out, my car was also left unlocked overnight by hotel staff.
Paid cash for drinks on the evening, to then have money taken out of my account to following day hours after checking out for ‘unpaid bar tab’ without my authorisation. Which takes me to the poor customer service! Call the hotel to ask why money has been taken and why it wasn’t mentioned when I checked out to be told it was a mistake and he didn’t notice the outstanding amount when I checked out, there was no manager I could speak to, he couldn’t issue me a refund and they would deal with the issue later.
Great hotel, the staff were very friendly and helpful. Well stocked cocktail bar downstairs. Would definitely stay again. Thank you
