One of the strengths of this establishment is the variety of dishes available, catering to different tastes and preferences. This personalized dining experience is refreshing and light, making it one of the best dishes to try at the restaurant. The restaurant also offers a wide selection of Chinese dishes, including spicy beef noodle soup, seafood noodle soup, pork jiaozi (dumplings), and various starters such as spare ribs and spring rolls. The food has been described as flavorful and satisfying.

Furthermore, the food at Lucky Star Restaurant is considered more authentic than typical Asian restaurants, with the sweet and sour pork being a particular favorite among diners. The crispy and delicious texture of the sweet and sour pork is appreciated by customers who value a more traditional Chinese dining experience.
Another strength of the restaurant is its reasonable pricing. During weekdays for lunch, they offer deals that are appealing to customers looking for a value-for-money option. This attracts customers and encourages them to try different dishes from the menu. The dish is flavorful, hot, and appears to be made with fresh ingredients, impressing customers with its quality. The staff is considered nice and the overall vibe of the restaurant is said to be great, creating a pleasant dining atmosphere.
However, there are also some weaknesses that have been pointed out by customers. The restaurant tends to be busy and packed, possibly due to its popular hot-pot dishes. This can result in a crowded dining experience and potentially longer wait times. One customer mentioned being less keen on the slimy strips of chicken in the meals, expressing a preference for traditional chicken. Additionally, the bottled lagers have been deemed overpriced for the size of the establishment.
A minor complaint was regarding the cleanliness of the toilets, which were described as a bit dirty. This can be off-putting for some customers and diminish the overall experience.
In conclusion, The Lucky Star Restaurant in Brighton has several strengths that attract customers, including its authentic Chinese cuisine with unique dishes, friendly staff, and reasonable pricing. The wide selection of dishes caters to various tastes, and the personalized hot-pot offerings are particularly refreshing and enjoyable. While the restaurant is often packed and has some minor weaknesses, such as pricing and toilet cleanliness, it remains a recommended choice for those seeking an authentic Chinese dining experience in Brighton.

A must go place to eat Authentic Chinese cuisine. It's not like your normal Chinese restaurant which have westernised dishes. This establishment serve dishes you will only find in China.
Ask for the other menu and you will find hot pot dishes, choosing what types of broth, meats and vegetables you want to say to the broth. At £24 each and the minimum of two people to order, it's one of the best dishes too have. So refreshing and light.
They have a wide selection of chinese dishes.
- The spicy beef noodle soup was so good, the soft beef with spices, sichuan pepper hits just right!
- The seafood noodle soup was also a hit, the broth was fragrant and flavourful.
- The pork jiaozi (dumplings) was a nice side, very soupy and flavourful.
- The starters- spare ribs and spring rolls were solid, wasn’t blown away but tasted good.
The owners/ staff are very friendly and nice too!
5 stars for overall experience! definitely recommend this for all chinese cuisine enthusiasts.
I love the food here. My favourite is the sweet and sour pork. It's so crispy and delicious. The food feels more authentic than typical Asian restaurants and they have an awesome menu filled with so many great options to suit anyones tastes.
This place is alway packed . Why? I think for the big bowl (hot-pot) dishes . We ate here. Food ok I am not keen to on those slimy strips of chicken in meals, much prefer proper chicken. Service very good. The owner rushes around like a headless????. Bottled lagers well over priced for a small gaff. All in all ok. Worth a try . Not sure if its a regular for me .
Homemade style Chinese dishes are scrumptious! Also, the restaurant offers reasonable deal during weekdays lunch(from 12pm to 4pm).
AMAZING food, I had the udon stir fry with pulled pork. Extremely tasty and good quality. They have great lunch deals with a wide variety of options to choose from.
Had a great time sharing a hot-pot with the family weekend before Xmas. Been before and staff are consistently friendly, always going out of their way to ensure your Lucky Star experience is fun and delicious, thank you again and can't wait to for our next trip to Brighton!
Fried udon with shredded pork was AMAZING. Came hot, great flavour and tasted fresh. The staff is nice, vibe is great, only complain is that toilets seem a bit dirty.
