The Restaurant at Kingscliff Hotel has several strengths based on the comments provided. Firstly, the hotel is praised for its cleanliness and bright ambiance, creating a welcoming atmosphere for guests. The staff at the front desk are also commended for their friendliness and helpfulness, which contributes to overall guest satisfaction.
In terms of dining, the restaurant is praised for offering good quality food at reasonable prices. The menu is described as varied and the food is well-presented and delicious. Additionally, the afternoon tea is highlighted as being delicious, with a great selection of sandwiches and cakes, warm scones, and attentive and polite staff. The cleanliness of the restaurant and its appealing decor are also noted as positives.
The size of the rooms at the hotel is considered a strength, with one guest noting that their room was very big. The room is also praised for its amenities, such as a good selection of teas and coffees, as well as a coffee machine. The comfort of the beds is also mentioned as a positive aspect of the hotel.
However, there are also some weaknesses mentioned in the comments. One guest highlights that the phone in their room did not work, which meant they had to go down to order room service. Additionally, they mention that the room service charge was quite steep for a three-star hotel, which may be seen as a negative aspect. Another guest complains about the noise from the bar and restaurant at night, which was audible in their room. Additionally, they were awoken at 1:30 am by the sound of someone vacuuming the stairs. These noise-related issues may impact the overall quality of the sleep experience for guests.
Another weakness mentioned is the slow service experienced by a work team during their evening out. It is noted that the service was slow and they were not informed about the specials until after they had all ordered. This suggests a lack of attentiveness from the staff and impacted the overall dining experience. The volume of the live music is also mentioned as being too loud, making conversation difficult and potentially impacting the enjoyment of the evening.
Furthermore, one guest mentions that they were disappointed with the accessibility for wheelchair users. They mentioned that they were seated at a table far away and had difficulty maneuvering their wheelchair, ultimately needing to disturb a table of 20 people to leave. This lack of accessibility could be seen as a weakness for the restaurant.
In conclusion, The Restaurant at Kingscliff Hotel has several strengths, including its cleanliness, friendly staff, good quality and reasonably priced food, and spacious rooms with amenities. However, there are also some weaknesses, such as issues with room service, noise disturbance, slow service, loud music, and accessibility concerns. These weaknesses may impact the overall guest experience and could be areas that the restaurant should address to improve customer satisfaction.

For 3 stars this hotel just outside Clacton but within walking distance was really good. It was clean and bright with really friendly staff at the front desk. The food was of a good quality and reasonably priced. The room was very big and had a good selection of teas and coffees with a coffee machine too. Bed was comfortable. I marked this down a star for a few reasons. The phone in the room didn't work so had to go down to order room service, room service charge was £5 which for a 3 star was quite steep. My room at the top of the stairs could hear the noise from the bar and restaurant at night and strangly was awoken at 1:30am by what i heard to be someone vacuuming the stairs! All that aside would definitely stay again.
Waited 1 hour and a half to be served cold drinks at our table of 4. Then out food order didn't come out all at once by the time 2 of us finished eating only then the other 2 were served the food they ordered. I guess making a toasted sandwich is the most complicated item on the menu.
As beautiful the place is inside I wasn't impressed at all.
My husband was also in a wheelchair and we were dumped at the furthers table at the back which made it like mission impossible in the wheelchair to get to our table and then to leave as we had to disturb a table of 20 people to get them on feet so wheelchair can exit.
Completely understaffed and the staff they got they don't really know what they doing.
I am a deputy manager at a local nursing home. We took our residents for afternoon tea, along with family and staff members, a total number of 11. The atmosphere was calm, which is perfect for our residents who suffer with dementia. The staff were very polite, attentive and went the extra mile to ensure everyone including our resident celebrating her birthday, had an amazing time. The afternoon tea was simply sublime and we will have no hesitation on returning again in the future. Thank you to everyone in front of house and behind the scenes for outstanding 5*service which was simply ????
For starters this should most definitely be a 4 star hotel not a 3!
From the moment I arrived I was treated amazingly.
The decor and cleanliness of this hotel is definitely worth a mention, it beautiful, the lounge/bar and dining room is a lovely sea facing, well spaced out area.
The menu is very good and the food itself is very well presented large portions and absolutely delicious!
The hotel is very well staffed with potentially the nicest group of young people I have had the pleasure to be around, polite and respectful with beautiful manners, I must mention Brandon (if IV got your name wrong luv I'm sorry) what a nice lad, for god's sake put him on reception ????
This has been the best UK break I have had and I cannot recommend it highly enough!
Well done and il be back in September.
Excellent service great location on the seafront. Staff are friendly and the curry is sublime. Overall a great experience and the toilets are clean and easy access with parking .
Food was lovely, waited just a bit too long but worth the wait.
Right next to holland-on-sea beach... free parking on road.
Enjoyed a work team evening out recently. The service was quite slow but the good was good, although we weren't offered the specials and didn't find out about them until we had all ordered. Place was very busy and had live music which was enjoyable but a little too loud. Found ourselves having to shout for conversation. Perhaps keep the volume lower while people are eating then turn it up later?
We treated ourselves to an afternoon tea. It was absolutely delicious. A great choice of sandwiches and cakes. The scones were warm. Couldn't fault it. The staff were very helpful and polite. The restaurant was very clean. We loved the decor.
