Quick Facts About The Rose and Crown

The Rose and Crown pub has received mostly positive comments from customers, highlighting its strengths such as being a proper pub, friendly staff, welcoming atmosphere, and clean and tidy environment. The open fire and outside seating area are also mentioned as positive aspects, particularly for the winter season. The pub is commended for serving lovely pints of Holdens beer, which is a popular choice among customers. The value for money aspect is also highlighted, with reasonable prices and plenty of off-street parking.
One of the main weaknesses of The Rose and Crown, according to a comment, is the lack of food options. The customer states that there was not even a cob (a type of bread roll) available, which is disappointing. This feedback indicates that the pub does not offer a food menu or at least lacks a variety of food options. Another comment mentions that the drinks can be a bit pricey, which might deter some customers who are looking for more affordable options.
Despite these weaknesses, the overall atmosphere of the pub is described as nice and comfortable, with friendly staff members. The tucked-away location away from the main road is seen as a positive aspect, as it creates a more intimate and secluded atmosphere. There is also praise for the selection of beers available, suggesting that the pub has a good variety to offer its customers.
However, one negative comment stands out, where a customer rates the pub poorly due to their personal dissatisfaction with the ale they ordered. This feedback is specific to the individual's experience and might not be indicative of the overall quality of the pub or its beers. It is worth noting that the customer does mention the barmaid as a positive aspect, which suggests that the issue might have been a one-off occurrence or a personal preference.
Another comment suggests that the pub could improve its selection of spirits, as there appears to be some dissatisfaction in this area. A better variety of spirits could attract a wider range of customers who prefer different types of drinks.
In conclusion, The Rose and Crown has several strengths, including being a proper pub with a warm and welcoming atmosphere, serving lovely pints of Holdens beer, and offering reasonable prices. However, the lack of food options and higher drink prices, as well as the dissatisfaction with the ale in one comment, are notable weaknesses that should be addressed in order to enhance the overall customer experience. Additionally, expanding the selection of spirits could attract a broader customer base.

No food let's this place down considerably. There was not even so much as a cob. Aside from that nice atmosphere comfortable environment. Drink fine but a bit pricey
Great little boozer, tucked away from the main road. Nice selection of beers, looked like a great food menu, might give the food a whizz in the future
Wow.....Holdens public house. Had the Special......priced ok £3:10. Thats all i can say. This pub used to be a boster. I've given it 1 star for the barmaid. Not the ale. Don't know whether i caught it on a bad day....????????‍♂️.
Very friendly staff and a nice welcoming atmosphere
Nice friendly pub, with some good beers on tap. Family friendly, although a better selection of spirits would be good.
