Quick Facts About The Salisbury Cafe
The Salisbury Cafe has both strengths and weaknesses based on the comments provided.
One of the strengths mentioned in the comments is that they offer a variety of hot and cold drinks and meals, ranging from scampi and chips to cooked breakfasts and snacks. This indicates that they have a diverse menu to cater to different tastes and preferences. Additionally, one comment mentions that the breakfasts are tasty and reasonably priced, with a positive mention of the "builders breakfast." This suggests that the cafe offers good quality food at an affordable price.
Another strength highlighted in the comments is the friendly staff. One comment specifically mentions the great managers, Lisa and Phil, and the positive atmosphere created by the staff. This indicates that the cafe prioritizes excellent customer service and creates a welcoming environment for customers.
However, there are several weaknesses mentioned in the comments as well. The most significant weakness appears to be the poor customer service experienced by some customers. One comment describes consistently rude behavior from the staff, including being hung up on without explanation or apology. Another comment mentions clueless staff and a lack of customer service. These examples suggest a lack of professionalism and a negative experience for customers.
Another weakness mentioned is the slow service. Multiple comments mention long wait times for both coffee and food. One comment even states that the coffee took 25 minutes to arrive, and the food took 45 minutes. This suggests a problem with efficiency and promptness in the cafe's operations.
Several comments also point out issues with the quality of the food. One customer mentions burnt toast being served, despite requesting it less toasted. Another mentions sopping wet mushrooms and tomatoes, which affected the overall quality of the meal. There is also a mention of the salt and sugar being crusted over, which is unappetizing. These examples suggest issues with the preparation and presentation of the food.
Additional weaknesses mentioned include overcrowding and lack of cleanliness. One comment mentions too many tables, which leads to people brushing up against each other. Another comment states that the salt and sugar were crusted over, which gives a negative impression of the cafe's cleanliness.
In conclusion, The Salisbury Cafe has strengths in terms of its diverse menu options, tasty food at a reasonable price, and friendly staff. However, it also has significant weaknesses related to poor customer service, slow service, food quality issues, overcrowding, and lack of cleanliness. These weaknesses should be addressed by the cafe in order to improve the overall customer experience.

I'm organising an event in the local area and was looking at catering options nearby to our venue. I wanted to give our attendees an option to grab some breakfast not too far from our meeting point, and thought I'd get in touch with this cafe. I wanted to ask about whether they could do a deal for our people, like a hot drink and a breakfast roll for a fiver per person.
When I called, I was repeatedly and very rudely hung up on without even an apology or explanation. Eventually someone said, "We're too busy to take your call."
More fool me for trying to support a local business and give them free advertising / promotion. Admittedly, they must be a success if they are too busy to take a call and talk about this. But I certainly won't be recommending them, and that's even before trying their food.
Where to begin?
It was extremly busy, (Saturday morning, to be expected) but our coffee took about 25 mins to come, the food took 45.
I noticed other breakfasts were coming out with extremely burnt toast, so I asked the waitress if I could have mine less toasted. "If it comes out like that! AH AHA AH!" was her reply...10 mins after my food arrived, she gave me my barely toasted bread...
The mushrooms and tomato were sopping wet, which made everything else soggy and cold
There were too many tables in there, people kept brushing up against us when leaving/entering
The salt and sugar were both crusted over. It was a really off-putting.
All in all, a really bad experience, one I wont be repeating
Literally the worst breakfast I've had anywhere. Staff were absolutely clueless, and the two breakfasts we ordered were pretty much cold. Oh, don't order cappuccino unless you want instant coffee mixed with hot chocolate done in the microwave. First time I've ever left a cafe still hungry. I recommend popping down the road to the Glenwood.
Nice little cafe serving hot and cold drinks and meals ranging from scampi and chips to cooked breakfasts and also snacks. Well cooked and served and easygoing and good atmosphere with great managers - Lisa and Phil.
Really tasty breakfast at a reasonable price, I tried the builders breakfast.
Went in this morning for breakfast. I had breakfast 1 and my other half had breakfast 2 with extra black pudding. Both breakfasts were virtually cold except for the black pudding. We were only customers in there sitting down to eat. Won't be eating there again. No customer service and expensive given that the food was cold
So glad to see this place back open under new management. The food is stellar and the staff are super friendly. I've got a new favourite lunch spot, can't wait to come back!
Very friendly nice food
