Quick Facts About The Seven Stars

Visitors appreciate the traditional interior with its quaint decor, fireplace, and warm atmosphere. The open fire adds to the cozy feel of the place and creates a comfortable environment for patrons.
Another strength mentioned by multiple commenters is the impressive quality of the food. Visitors who dined at The Seven Stars in March 2022 were pleased with their meals and even returned nearly six months later to find that the food was still just as good. This consistency in food quality speaks highly of the venue and its commitment to serving delicious meals. The Sunday roast, in particular, received high praise for being absolutely delicious. The great food is complemented by the polite and attentive staff, who provide excellent service according to several reviewers.
In terms of value for money, The Seven Stars is considered to offer good prices given the high quality of the food. In a time when prices seem to be increasing while service and quality decline, commenters appreciate that this pub provides a refreshing haven where customers can enjoy good food at reasonable prices.
Additionally, some reviewers specifically mention the welcoming and friendly nature of the staff. Sheila, in particular, is acknowledged for her great service, while others appreciate the quick service and friendly demeanor of the staff. Visitors appreciate the warm and attentive staff, which adds to their overall positive experience at the pub.
However, there are also some weaknesses mentioned in the comments. One reviewer describes the service as "almost amusingly poor," highlighting lackluster food and contemptuous treatment from the staff. The reviewer had a negative experience during Sunday lunch, where they felt that the staff showed apparent contempt towards them. While this reviewer found the experience almost amusing, they also found the unacceptable service to be inexcusable.
Another reviewer criticizes the food, specifically the roast potatoes, which they found to be dry and lacking crunch. They acknowledge that the lamb was tasty and plentiful, but overall, the food seems to be hit or miss for some diners.
One reviewer describes a chaotic experience, mentioning that they had to wait for a long time to be served and were disappointed by the high prices for small portions of dry chips. The separate ordering of food and drinks was also found to be annoying. Based on this review, it seems like the service and pricing could be inconsistent and detract from the overall dining experience.
In conclusion, The Seven Stars place has several strengths, including its cozy ambiance, consistently good food, polite and attentive staff, and good value for money. However, there are weaknesses in terms of inconsistent service, hit or miss food quality, and high prices for small portions. It's important for potential customers to consider these factors when deciding whether to visit The Seven Stars.

We were here in March 2022 and we loved the ambience and open fire, the food was impressive then. Says a lot about a venue when you visit nearly 6 months later and food still just as good. We really had another memorable lunch before we head back to Australia. Thank you Sheila for your great service and your son’s efforts in the kitchen - outstanding ????????????
A quaint traditional boozer with all the cosy trimmings. Nic-nacs and fireplace to boot. Beyond Doombar beers are generic and are a few local brews away from pub bliss.
Absolutely delicious Sunday roast, warm and cosy atmosphere with great service! Will definitely be back.
Traditional pub, great food, polite and attentive staff. Good prices given the high quality of the food. When the country appears to be charging higher than ever prices for lower than ever service and quality, this place is a refreshing haven!
Almost amusingly poor service here, with lacklustre food.
We came for Sunday lunch. We were the second lunch sitting, and the staff had very clearly had more than enough after one service. They made no attempt to hide their apparent contempt for serving us, and I do not feel that we were in any way challenging as customers. It was so strange an experience that it did at least prove almost amusing, although such unacceptable service is inexcusable.
The food was stuck in the last century, as perhaps were most of the clientele. Roast potatoes were dry and lacked crunch. To be fair though, my lamb was tasty and plentiful.
Had two great Vegetarian Roasts Which were 10/10
Really lovely pub very welcoming
Great steak, came back next day to try the roast pork n that was amazing too!
Love the garden . Nice and quiet area. Friendly staff and quick service ☺️ will be back
Pretty chaotic, had to wait for ages to get served, had to order food and drinks separately which was annoying. Only wanted some chips as a snack after a walk and ended up paying £21 for a couple of drinks and 2 very small bowls of dry chips. Wouldn't recommend.
