Quick Facts About Tides

Tides Place, based on the comments provided, has several strengths and weaknesses.
One strength of Tides Place is its friendly staff. Multiple comments mention the friendliness of the staff, even during a power cut. The staff creates a welcoming and pleasant atmosphere for customers, making them feel valued and satisfied with the service received. This friendliness also extends to engaging in conversation with the locals, providing an opportunity for visitors to immerse themselves in the local culture.
Another strength is the affordability of the food. Commenters mention that the prices at Tides Place are reasonable, making it an attractive option for customers looking for good value for money. This affordability likely contributes to the popularity of the cafe among both locals and tourists.
The cafe's location and view also appear to be a strength. With a view of the harbor, customers can enjoy their meals while taking in the scenic surroundings. This adds to the overall dining experience, making it more enjoyable for visitors.
Cleanliness is mentioned in one of the comments, indicating that Tides Place maintains a clean and well-maintained environment. This attention to cleanliness is important in creating a positive first impression and ensuring that customers feel comfortable and hygienic during their visit.
However, Tides Place also has some weaknesses that are mentioned in the comments. One recurring complaint is the quality of the breakfast. Several commenters express dissatisfaction with the breakfast they received, describing it as tasteless or poorly cooked. This indicates a potential inconsistency in the quality of the food, specifically the breakfast options offered by Tides Place. This inconsistency can lead to customer disappointment and negative reviews.
One comment specifically mentions a negative experience with one of the staff members. The commenter describes the female staff behind the counter as clipped and rude, creating an unpleasant experience. This suggests a lack of consistent customer service, as other comments rave about the friendly staff. Inconsistency in customer service can lead to mixed reviews and inconsistent customer experiences.
Lastly, one commenter found the portion sizes to be inadequate for the price paid. This suggests a potential issue with portion control and perceived value for money. Customers may feel unsatisfied or "robbed" if they feel they are not receiving a sufficient amount of food for the price paid.
In conclusion, Tides Place has several strengths, including friendly staff, affordability, a scenic location, and cleanliness. However, there are also weaknesses, such as inconsistent food quality, potential issues with customer service, and perceived inadequate portion sizes. Addressing these weaknesses can help Tides Place further improve the overall dining experience and ensure customer satisfaction.

Great little find , staff were so friendly , even during a power cut , food was great and a great price and as visitors listening to the local boys chat was really nice , obviously a favourite with locals and tourists alike .So glad we ducked in our of the rain .We also discovered our servers daughter worked close to where we live in Scotland such a small world x
A lovely cafe reasonably priced friendly staff and great food. What more could you want. Our favourite places to eat while we were on holiday
I ordered a "Large" breakfast that consisted of 2 raw bacon, 2 tasteless sausages, 2 eggs, half a slice of a fried bread, a burnt peice of toast, beans and tomatoes that looked like they were tinned from Lidl and the chosen option of “Fried Potatoes”: all worse than the cheapest motorway truck stop. The price I paid was £7.50 for all this and I feel robbed. The woman behind the counter put me in mind of a female version of Basil Fawlty… clipped and rude (but the New Zealand Lady was wonderful!) not a pleasant experience and I would advise others to avoid. It’s basically a tourist trap.
Great cafe, view of the harbour. Nice staff and owner really works hard to make it good. Food is nice and reasonably priced. Usually got workmen from fishing industry etc in there so good banter and local knowledge to be had. Also dog friendly.
Excellent fare, friendly serving staff. Clean and well maintained
