Quick Facts About Tribells
Tribells Place is a restaurant that serves fish and chips at reasonable prices. The comments provided highlight several strengths and weaknesses of the restaurant.
One of the strengths of Tribells Place is the quality of the food. Multiple comments mention that the fish and chips are delicious, with one customer stating that it was the best fish they had in a long time. The chips are also praised for being cooked in beef dripping, giving them a unique flavor. The portions are described as generous, which provides value for money. Another positive aspect is the variety of fish offered, with one customer mentioning that they serve Plaice, which is their favorite type of fish.
The prices at Tribells Place are also mentioned as a strength. Several comments highlight the affordability of the food, with one customer mentioning that they paid £25 for a sharing tray of fish, scampi, calamari, and chips with mushy peas and Tartar sauce. Another comment mentions that their meal, including large cod and chips and a pot of tea, was around £30. These prices are seen as reasonable for the quality and quantity of food provided.
Despite the positive comments, there are some weaknesses mentioned as well. One customer mentions that the service was poor, with no table check back and leaving them wanting more drinks. Another comment states that they received the wrong order and couldn't wait for a replacement due to time constraints. This highlights a possible issue with accuracy and timeliness of service.
Some customers mention issues with the quality of certain aspects of the meal. One comment notes that the chips ended up sitting in their own oil, suggesting that they may have been too greasy. Another comment mentions that the bread provided was thin and not tasty. These issues with the chips and bread may detract from the overall enjoyment of the meal.
There are also concerns raised about certain charges. One customer mentions being shocked to be charged £1.50 for tartar sauce, which they felt was too much for the portion provided. Additionally, another comment mentions the disappointment with having to pay for more tartar sauce and views it as rude and embarrassing. This raises concerns about the restaurant's pricing and customer service policies.
Some customers mention issues with the ambiance of the restaurant. One comment mentions that the restaurant was noisy due to ongoing building work outside, although they acknowledge that it is not the restaurant's fault. Another comment mentions that there was a constant dropping of cutlery in the restaurant, which created an unpleasant ambient noise. These factors may impact the overall dining experience for some customers.
In conclusion, Tribells Place has several strengths, including great food at reasonable prices and generous portions. However, there are also weaknesses, such as poor service, issues with certain food items, additional charges for condiments, and concerns about the ambiance. These factors should be considered when deciding whether to visit this restaurant.

Great food at very reasonable prices. £25 for a sharing tray of fish, scampi, calamari and chips with mushy peas and Tartar sauce. A bit noisy currently with the building work going on outside, but not their fault. Definitely go again soon.
Great place. I had regular fish and chips with mushy peas. Asked for fish to be well done . Husband treat himself to large cod and chips. Pot of tea. He said was best fish hes had for a long time.
Was about £30. Had a short wait of 5 minutes to be seated. Waitress had an injury but still managed a smile .
Best chips in Llandudno
Very satisfied customers.
The food was brill - chips cooked in beef dripping. Generous portions. Good distance away from seagulls at the front too.
£61 for 4 ok fish and meh chips with drinks. The service was poor, no table check back leaving us wanting more drinks.
We ordered the sharing meal of the main menu that consisted of fish, scampi, calamari and two sides , When they arrived they provided the sharing special of the day, just two fish and chips with the two sides. Short on time we couldn't have waited for a replacement.
While the fish was nice the chips ended up sitting in their own oil.
Always was shocked to find tartar sauce being charged at £1.50, when served your given it in a small bucket, way too much for two fish.
The ambient sound in the restaurant was the constant dropping of cutlery after being polished by another members staff in the restaurant area.
This has been a massive let down as it was one of my family's favourite places to eat in the area.
Very good fish and chips. Some different type of fish you can choose. Good service and nice price.
Very good Fish & Chips! They also serve Plaice which is personally my favorite type of Fish for this kind of meal, that was a nice surprise. The fish is cooked on point and the chips are crunchy, the cooks know their friers that’s for sure. The price is relatively ok considering the portions are huge. Ok and now the suggestions, since there’s a salad on the plate it would be nice if it was given a little attention, maybe some dressing? A little green looks great on a plate but it wouldn’t take too much effort to make that part shine a little brighter. Lastly, the amount of tartar sauce given with such a huge fish is simply quite sad. When I asked for more I was told I have to pay. This kind of attitude in restaurants I find rude and embarrassing. Come on guys! You’re not a budget airline. That’s not how you engage customers to want to come back. In the end the waiter did gift us some sachets which was nice. All in all this place knows how to fry a fish, it’s good quality and probably the best fish and chips I have eaten for a long while. Just don’t be so tight on the sauces ;)
We were the only diners in when we ate having missed the evening rush. The food was not greasy as some fish and chips are, but the batter on the fish was thin and crispy and the chips freshly cooked and just crispy enough. Wasn't a fan of the bread, thin sliced and not tasty. The fish was chunky and large, definately got your moneys worth. Tea a bit strong for my taste ( 2 large bags per pot) fortunately they provide a pot of water as well, but tea is a personal choice.
Had chips & gravy and chips & curry with 2 rounds of bread £10 yet realised after we could have had fish & chips twice for £13. Bit stingy with the gravy and salt and vinegar, even though i asked for extra. No individual prices for gravy etc. Chips were very yellow in colour, very soggy and greasy. We felt ill after and couldn't actually finish eating them, they were that bad. Takeaway side was clean. Gentleman that served us looked thoroughly bored as though he didn't want to be there. Maybe it was just a bad day but we definitely will not be going there again.
