Quick Facts About Welsh Harp
Welsh Harp Place, based on the comments, has several strengths that contribute to its positive reputation. Firstly, the service at the pub is often praised, with comments noting good service and friendly staff. This is essential in creating a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere for customers. Additionally, the food at Welsh Harp Place receives high praise, specifically for the nut roast and Sunday roast. The nut roast is described as one of the best ever had, and the Sunday roast is mentioned as being tasty and plentiful. The quality of the food is a significant strength for the pub, as it attracts patrons and encourages repeat visits.
Another strength of Welsh Harp Place is its ambiance and atmosphere. The comments describe the pub as having a proper local country pub vibe, with a cozy and old-fashioned feel. This contributes to the overall experience and creates a pleasant and inviting atmosphere for customers. Additionally, the pub's historic location in Waltham Abbey adds to its appeal, attracting visitors interested in experiencing the town's history and culture.
The pub's ability to accommodate large groups is also mentioned as a strength. One comment specifically notes that a party of 16 was handled amazingly, highlighting the staff's ability to manage large gatherings and provide a positive experience for all. This suggests that Welsh Harp Place is suitable for various occasions, including family gatherings and celebrations.
Reasonable pricing is also mentioned as a strength, indicating that the pub offers good value for money. The combination of delicious food, friendly service, and reasonable prices makes Welsh Harp Place an attractive option for customers seeking a satisfying dining experience without breaking the bank.
However, there are a few weaknesses that can be inferred from the comments. One comment mentions that the atmosphere has changed since the pub changed owners, and some of the previous charm and flair may be missing. This suggests that the pub may have experienced some negative changes following the ownership change. Additionally, the comment about receiving a "scary look" for ordering chips with just juice implies that the staff's attitude may not always be welcoming or accommodating to certain preferences or requests. This could potentially create a negative experience for some customers.
In conclusion, Welsh Harp Place benefits from its strong points such as good service, friendly staff, delicious food (particularly the nut roast and Sunday roast), a cozy atmosphere, historical location, and the ability to accommodate large groups. However, it appears that there may have been some negative changes following a change in ownership, as well as occasional instances of less accommodating service. Overall, Welsh Harp Place appears to have more strengths than weaknesses, making it a popular choice for those seeking a satisfying and enjoyable pub experience.

Had a lovely meal at the Welsh Harp ,very good service and friendly bar staff.
One of the best nut roasts I’ve ever had. Would strongly recommend. It’s a proper local country pub inside. Very sweet!
Very tasty Sunday roast, plentiful meat and vegetables and lovely big Yorkshire pudding with gravy boat on each plate. Really enjoyed the food. Nice staff and reasonably priced. Sat outside with our dogs, very welcoming.
In general, I don't have a pub culture. I just buy and eat small things for different tastes. When I order chips with just a juice here, I got a scary look, but I felt like I had a steak at that moment and there was a feeling of ordering more. the chips were nice, the looks were not nice. Please change your perspective and stance, not as a customer, but as someone who sees.
Absolutely amazing food, big ups to the chef. I had the vegan nut roast, delicious!
We had a family meal for xmas gathering and tbf to accommodate a group of 16 is no easy task. So just wanna say, Katrina, Rachel & Connor, you guys handled it amazingly.
Thank you. I'll be returning for sure. Happy to leave this review for you guys.
Merry Christmas, thanks again. ????????❤️????
5 Star Roasties!
Attend Welsh Harp for Sunday lunch. Great little find in the historically entrenched town of Waltham Abbey. The atmosphere in this quaint pub was pleasant and welcoming. Staff were lovely (thank you Laila for wonderful service experience).
The roast dinner was a good size. However, the star of the meal was the crispy, fluffy and moreish Maris Piper roast potatoes. I have eaten many roast dinners in a pub but this probably the first time that the potatoes have been tasted like they have been cooked FRESH rather than warmed up. The other accompaniments were also excellent, the bacon and cabbage in particular. Highly recommended for Sunday lunch.
Wow what a pub, very old & cosy. Staff very welcoming & friendly & the Sunday roast was amazing, highly recommended ????
