Quick Facts About West Beach
West Beach Place has several strengths that make it an attractive destination for visitors. Firstly, the beach itself is described as "unspoilt" and "beautiful," offering lovely walks for visitors. The stone beach is particularly popular with dog walkers, making it a great option for those with pets. The beach also offers a unique experience in the winter, as it is a good location to find interesting stones and shells.
The views from West Beach Place are also praised as "beautiful." Visitors can enjoy panoramic views of the coast and the sea, adding to the overall appeal of the location. Additionally, the water depth is described as ideal for children, making it a safe and enjoyable place for families.
Other amenities near West Beach Place also contribute to its strengths. There are cafes nearby, providing options for food and drink. Additionally, public toilets are available, which is essential for many visitors. The fact that the beach is not crowded is another positive aspect, as it allows for a more peaceful and relaxing experience. The beach itself is a mix of pebbles and sand, with sandy patches as visitors get closer to the sea.
However, there are also some weaknesses associated with West Beach Place. One major issue mentioned is the closure of the Tourist Information and the toilets. This limits the availability of information and facilities for tourists, which can be inconvenient and disappointing for visitors.
Another weakness mentioned is the windy and cold weather conditions, which can be uncomfortable for some visitors. Additionally, there is mention of a narrow access road along the river Arun, which can cause difficulty and inconvenience for those trying to reach the beach. While it is noted that the temporary traffic lights on the road have been removed, it is still worth considering the potential difficulties with road access.
The car park at West Beach Place is also described as tricky to find and access due to a large puddle at the entrance. This can cause issues for visitors trying to park their vehicles. While this is a problem that could potentially be resolved by the council, its presence at the time of the comment was a drawback for this particular visitor.
It is also worth mentioning that the coffee hut in the area was shut at the time of the visit, which may be disappointing for those looking for refreshments during their time at the beach. However, it is important to note that this information may be outdated, as it was mentioned as an "Update" in the comment.
In conclusion, West Beach Place has several strengths that make it an attractive destination, including its unspoilt and beautiful beach, stunning views, and amenities like nearby cafes and public toilets. However, it also has some weaknesses, such as the closure of the Tourist Information and toilets, potential issues with windy and cold weather, difficulty accessing the beach due to road conditions, and a tricky car park entrance. Overall, the strengths of West Beach Place make it a desirable location, but it is important for potential visitors to be aware of these weaknesses as well.

If you want an unspoilt beach for a lovely walk then this is just the place. There’s the promenade part of littlehampton on the other side. West beach is a stone beach frequented by dog walkers, it has toilets by the car park and the car park is cheap.
We like to come in winter if it’s not too windy, great for finding interesting stones and shells, chasing seagulls and watching the golfers from the dunes.
Nice place for a quite getaway, water sports, beautiful views.
There are cafes, parking and public toilets nearby. Good for swimming.
The beach is not that crowded. Its a pebble beach but you will find sandy patches as you go close to the sea.
Beautiful beach, just not fond of pebbles so 4 stars.
Windy and cold today! Good for blowing the cobwebs away! Narrow access road along the river Arun....road with traffic lights now. They seem temporary (UPDATE. Yes they have gone!). Pay and display. Card or app only (no cash). The coffee hut shut when we were there (Monday)...nice dunes (fenced off). Lots of pebbles but sand at low tide. Beach goes out a long way at low tide (wasn't low tide when we were here) ! UPDATE. Coffee shop opened but toilets padlocked shut ????
Just love this beach especially when the tide is out, you can walk for miles, there is also a cafe there, great for dogs x
First time here, tricky car park to find and get into because of a massive, and I mean Massive puddle at the entrance. Council needs to sort that ASAP. But once I parked up, it was only a short walk to the beach, which was absolutely gorgeous when I visited. Very quiet, dog friendly which helped because my Dog was with me. And a lovely little restaurant /cafe actually in the car park which did a fantastic fish finger sandwich ????
