Quick Facts About Wheatsheaf
Wheatsheaf Place, located on the edge of Waltham Abbey, has a number of strengths and weaknesses, as revealed by the comments provided.
One of the major strengths of Wheatsheaf Place is its excellent food. The comment mentions that there are great choices for both meat and veggie lovers, indicating that the establishment offers a diverse menu catering to different dietary preferences. This is a crucial strength as it ensures that a wide range of customers can find something they enjoy. Additionally, the staff are described as friendly and accommodating, which enhances the overall dining experience.
Furthermore, the pub is described as being child-friendly, with a nice spacious environment and a decent children's play area. This is likely to be appealing to families looking for a place to eat and relax. The presence of a car park and a large beer garden with decking also adds to the appeal, as customers have options for where they can sit and enjoy their drinks or meals.
Another positive aspect mentioned in the comments is the presence of interesting decorations, specifically the pictures of Waltham Abbey and the original owners. This attention to detail and local touch can create a sense of nostalgia and contribute to a charming atmosphere.
However, there are also weaknesses associated with Wheatsheaf Place. One comment hints at a slightly off ambiance, although it acknowledges that this may be a personal preference. A lack of atmosphere can be a deterrent for some customers who seek a vibrant and lively pub environment. This is something that the management should consider improving in order to attract a wider range of customers.
Another weakness highlighted in the comments is the average quality of the food. While the majority of customers seem satisfied with the food, one person mentions that their dish, the Hunter's chicken, was dry and lacking in sauce. This inconsistency in food quality is a concern as it may result in customers having mixed experiences. Additionally, another comment expresses disappointment with the long service time, which is another aspect that can tarnish the overall dining experience.
Another weakness mentioned is the limited variety of ales available. The comment complains that the pub only offers mild on cask or keg, which is considered poor for a pub in today's era where craft beers and ales are increasingly popular. This limitation may deter customers who specifically seek a wide selection of beers.
In conclusion, Wheatsheaf Place has several strengths, such as excellent food choices, friendly staff, a child-friendly environment, and interesting decorations. However, weaknesses include a slightly off ambiance, average food quality, long service time, and a limited selection of ales. Addressing these weaknesses can help improve the overall customer experience and attract a wider range of clientele.

Food is excellent, great choices for meat and veggie lovers! The staff are always really friendly and accomodating. There's something a little off about the ambience, however that may be my own personal taste. I really loved the pictures of Waltham Abbey and the original owners that were hung up on the wall - such a nice little addition. :)
A nice children friendly pub on the edge of Waltham Abbey. There is a car park to the side. A large beer garden with decking welcomes customers who want to sit outside. The inside is clean and tidy with various areas to sit. If you like pool you're in luck as there is a table near the entrance. Food is offered here but I only popped in for a drink.
Party of six had a lovely lunch visit today. Very pleasant and efficient staff. We had excellent food with the exception of the Hunter's chicken that was dry and lacking in any sauce. The dogs however thoroughly enjoyed it. We will return!
Fantastic staff, nothing was to much, even met the chef, a must go to eat. Even booked Christmas dinner. Brilliant food, good choice.
Food average and long service time. Lovely staff make up for some of this. My main complaint is that they had no ale apart from a mild on cask or keg. This is pretty poor for a pub these days to only offer larger.
Lovely, chilled out staff good selection of drinks on draft good to pick up some grub and see off some pints ????
We stopped for a drink. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The guy at the bar also works in the kitchen and was very helpful in particular with regards to tailoring food to accommodate my vegan diet. Will come back for food another time. Nice spacious environment and good for walking nearby.
Don’t bother. Disappointing pub. No atmosphere. Food is expensive pub food… microwaveable tasteless rubbish… childrens play area decent. Beer average… better pubs around.
