Quick Facts About Wheelies Cafe
Wheelies Cafe has several strengths that contribute to its overall positive reputation. Firstly, the cafe is praised for its flexibility in bookings, specifically mentioned in relation to the Igloo during lockdown. This shows that the staff are accommodating and willing to work with customers to ensure a positive experience. Additionally, the friendly welcome and excellent service are mentioned multiple times, indicating that the staff are attentive and provide a welcoming atmosphere for customers.
One of the standout features of Wheelies Cafe is its drink menu, which is described as outstanding with an excellent choice. This suggests that the cafe offers a wide variety of drink options and is likely to cater to different preferences. The best Bloody Mary and excellent drink service are specifically highlighted, indicating that the cafe excels in this area.
Another strength of Wheelies Cafe is its dog-friendly policy. This is mentioned as a positive aspect, suggesting that the cafe is welcoming to pet owners and creates an inclusive environment for all customers.
The inclusion of the Igloo as a private dining option is also highlighted as a strength. The commenter mentions that even in the sun, the Igloo provides privacy, suggesting that it is a unique and enjoyable experience for customers. This demonstrates that Wheelies Cafe is innovative in its offerings and seeks to provide unique experiences for its customers.
However, there are also weaknesses that have been mentioned by customers. One recurring complaint is the noise level in the cafe. It is described as being too loud, even for a person who typically enjoys such environments. This indicates that the noise level is excessive and disrupts the ability to have conversations, which can negatively impact the overall experience for customers.
Another weakness mentioned is the issue of prices outside of happy hour. It is stated that the prices outside of happy hour are high, suggesting that the cafe may not offer good value for money during certain times. This could discourage customers from visiting when prices are not discounted.
Portion sizes are also mentioned as a weakness by one customer. They were expecting larger portions, especially for the Briam dish, which they found to be smaller than what they are used to in Greece. This suggests that the portion sizes at Wheelies Cafe may not meet the expectations of some customers, particularly those familiar with Greek cuisine.
The issue of long wait times is raised by one customer, who felt ignored and unwanted due to a longer wait compared to other customers. This suggests that the cafe may struggle with managing customer flow and maintaining efficient service during busier periods. Additionally, the lack of apologies further reflects a potential weakness in customer service.
In conclusion, Wheelies Cafe has several strengths including flexibility in bookings, friendly service, an outstanding drink menu, and being dog-friendly. However, there are weaknesses to consider such as the excessive noise level, high prices outside of happy hour, smaller portion sizes, and potential issues with wait times and customer service. These weaknesses should be addressed to ensure a more well-rounded and satisfying experience for customers.

We had booked an Igloo during lockdown and this was the first time we could re-book. They were so flexible with booking. Friendly welcome. Excellent service. Igloo is very good idea even in the sun as so private. Also dog friendly. Drink menu outstanding and excellent choice. Food choice was average as doing too much on one menu. But in a positive note it suited a family on a Sunday. Would return just for the best Bloody Mary and excellent drink service.
So this new bar looks aesthetically great and the cocktails are good... although not too sure about the amount of ice they put in. However, the noise was way too loud for the small environment that it is. I went there with a group of friends during the week and could hardly hear the person next to me. Thats a complaint coming from a person in their early 20's who loves these sorts of places and noise isn't usually an issue. I can't imagine what it would be like at the weekend when it gets louder apparently. I don't see the point in having good cocktails and place to chill if the noise kills the main reason you went there. For the loud level of music you would at least expect a dance floor and the size definitely doesn't accommodate for one of those! Consequently I wouldn't advise anyone on going there if they are with anyone else and want to have a conversation etc until they turn the music down just a bit!!
Oh and by the way, make sure you go in happy hour otherwise your paying HUGE prices.
The owner was charming and spoke to me thankfully in Greek. Seating hard on the bottom like in Greece. But I was amazed at the size of the portion of Briam. £4 from memory. Tasted fine but Greeks normally are generous at least they are in Greece. I think the owner has lived in the UK too long and is used to our minuscule portions. So I have never been back even though I would have loved to have spoken more Greek. Ti Crima - what a pity! Perhaps good for a Greek coffee?
Was busy first ever visit and warned might be 30min wait but should be quicker. Order 9. Waited over 42mins and order 12 being placed on tables and bigger orders than mine. Felt ignored and unwanted so left. No food just a coffee and no apologies when I explained the wait was way over 30mins. Unacceptable and perhaps they don't like lone customers here. Won't go again.
Friends dinner, lovely from outside with all the lights and the pods. Great staff and food was good. Great atmosphere.
Absolutely banging! Rang up said I'm ten min away and I wanted 1 fry up and and 1 portion of 2egg and chips. Pulled up food was ready staff were friendly and polite, easy to pay, can't complain! Good quality food as well.
