Quick Facts About Affoue African Hair Braiding
Affoue African Hair Braiding has received a variety of comments, both positive and negative, which can help us analyze their strengths and weaknesses as a business. It is important to note that these comments are subjective and represent the experiences of individual customers.
Starting with the weaknesses, one common complaint is the quality of the braiding work. One customer expressed dissatisfaction with their braids falling out only a week after getting them done. The customer claimed that the stylist made excuses instead of taking responsibility for their work. Another customer mentioned that the braids they received were not what they had requested, stating that the curls were messy and tangled. These complaints indicate potential issues with the skill and attention to detail of the stylists at Affoue.
Furthermore, there were complaints about the unprofessional behavior of the stylists. One customer mentioned that while getting their hair done, the stylist talked negatively about another customer, leading to a negative atmosphere in the salon. Additionally, a customer complained about the stylist's cousin working on their hair without disclosure, which could be seen as unprofessional and misleading. These comments suggest a lack of professionalism and customer service within the staff.
Another weakness mentioned by customers is the long waiting times. One customer mentioned that their appointment started almost an hour late, and it took the stylist an additional thirty minutes to prepare the hair. They also commented on the stylist frequently stopping to attend to her children and taking personal calls throughout the day. This indicates a lack of time management and focus on the part of the stylists.
Moving on to the strengths, there were positive comments about the expertise of specific stylists. One customer expressed their love for their braids and commended Rose for her professionalism and skill. Another customer mentioned that Larana did an exceptional job with their daughter's hair, and they appreciated her attentiveness and patience. These comments highlight the potential talent and expertise within the stylists at Affoue.
Additionally, some customers appreciated the efficiency of the service. One customer mentioned that they were pleasantly surprised at how quickly their micro braids were done, given that they expected to spend over 8 hours in the salon. Another customer mentioned that their braids lasted longer than expected and received many compliments. These comments suggest that Affoue has the potential to provide fast and long-lasting service.
Furthermore, there were also positive comments about the ability of the stylists to accommodate customers. One customer mentioned that Affoue was always able to squeeze them in for an appointment, which indicates a level of flexibility and customer focus. Another customer expressed their appreciation for the talent of Rose, as well as her mother and sister, indicating that Affoue has a team of skilled stylists.
In conclusion, Affoue African Hair Braiding has both strengths and weaknesses based on customer comments. The negative comments highlight potential issues with quality of work, professionalism, and time management. On the other hand, positive comments indicate talent, efficiency, and customer accommodation. A potential improvement for Affoue would be to address the concerns raised by customers regarding the braiding quality and professionalism to enhance their overall customer satisfaction.

I waste my money here. My braids started falling out a week later on the ground. I called the shop and the lady who braided my hair insist on telling me my hair must had got wet. How you going to make an excuse for your bad work. 180.00 is too much for your hair to look a mess two weeks later. The service is awful. I literally sat in the chair while the lady doing my hair talk about the other customer and left there with a ear full of negativity. I will never do business with this place again.
I would give these ladies, no stars if i could.
I told Auntie to do small butterfly box braids and show her the picture of the style i wanted, instead she gave me medium (in the front)and big (in the back ) butterfly boxbraids and most of the weave that was supposed to be curled was nappy and already tangled once I got out of the seat. I told Auntie nicely theses not the butterfly box braids I wanted ,the curls is messed up, and ask can she redo the braids .she refused to redo it . I went to get my daughter so she can be my witness and fix my hair. One braid was mess up where there's was one cut up or the ends was coming out the hair and the other was to loose. My daughter and I went back to get her to fix the ones thats messed up. She told me that the curls (that my daughter took out cause it was so mess up and nappy)was better without it. My daughter show her the braids that was mess up and she fix only the loose and cut up braids while the other stylist was talking bad about me and say I was being disrespectful for asking nicely to redo it.
my daughter look at the braids and approved that it was better than before ; we left.
It's sad when a Stylist get called out nicely, they get bitter instead of getting better and listen to their costumers' concerns without any argument and yells. Just move accordingly.
Also please don't talk bad about the customer in front of the other customers doing their hair that was very unprofessional.
Love this place she did a great job on my hair!!! Quick so professional. I really thought that I will be sitting in the chair for over 8 hours considering the fact that I'm got micro braids... But no 5 hours and I was done probably could have got done quicker had I would have been on time. But I will be seeing you in two-three months!!!!
I loooooooove my braids! I’m obsessed with them! Rose was my braider, I got a little discouraged by a review I saw and she took the time to explain to me what really happened. It’s a shame people will try to tarnish a business when something doesn’t go their way. Rose was very professional and assured me I was in good hands. I let her know my issues with my hair pertaining to alopecia and she assured me she doesn’t braid tight and to stop her if she did. She was careful around the areas I suffer with alopecia in and was able to conceal them while still making my hair look full…no one has been able to do that before and this was such a confidence builder for me. My braids are very neat, uniform, and light weight. I’ve found my forever braider. While in the shop I also admired the works of her mother and sister, these women are very talented!!
Affoue is always able to squeeze me in. Quick and perfect every time! Never had a complaint and they always last me longer than it should. I get the most compliments and I gladly drive from NC to Columbia to get my hair done!!!
Yesterday I took my daughter to get feed in braids by Larana and she did an AMAZING job. She was very patient and took her time to create such a beautiful style. She checked in with my daughter many times to see if she was okay. I really appreciate the experience, since it was my daughter’s first experience in an African Shop. Also, the other workers were nice and friendly, there was not a whole lot of talking and taking breaks like previous shops I’ve visited. I will definitely be bringing my daughter back to Larana consistently, her work is really really GREAT. I am looking to schedule an appointment for myself now. ???? I recommend this shop for great styles and service.
This place is extremely unprofessional and late as hell. Made my edges come out the girl rose is the culprit . Advertising she do hair alone.. i come in the shop her cousin in my hair as well. I had to lie and say i had to go to work to leave cause my head was hurting so bad couldn’t even sleep. I’m calling better business bureau on them first thing Monday morning. Secondly these braids aren’t even the same size … save ur money and time with these folk. They are a WASTE!
Don’t waste your time or money. I just spent my whole day here. Had an appointment at 9am the stylist didn’t show up until about 9:45-10:00. It took her another thirty minutes to stretch the hair. She walked in with two children and that should of been a red flag. She constantly had to stop to do things for them. I understand not having a babysitter but the client is still paying for a service that you can’t effectively provide if you have to stop every ten minutes. Perhaps you shouldn’t work if you have no sitter. Then they’re on the phone all day taking personal calls as if the clients have nowhere to be. I didn’t leave the salon until 8:30pm. So that’s 9am to 8:30pm. Elizabeth doesn’t know what she’s doing. I got box braids today and it literally looks like I have a million braids in my hair. It’s so heavy. They put the thickest braid on the tiniest piece of hair. I’m literally taking it out as I’m typing this. If not I’m pretty sure they’ll pop off at the root in my sleep as they’re extremely tight. I’ll take the 180 lost. NEVER AGAIN.
