Quick Facts About Andover Chinese Takeaway
Andover Chinese Takeaway has received a mix of positive and negative comments, which provide insights into its strengths and weaknesses. In terms of strengths, several customers praised the freshness, taste, and quality of the food. They found the dishes to be hot, tasty, and well worth the price. The quick delivery service was also mentioned as a positive aspect of the restaurant. Additionally, the staff were described as friendly and helpful, going above and beyond to provide good customer service.
One customer specifically mentioned the beef in green peppers and black bean with fried rice as being really nice. However, it was noted that the dish was listed as three chillis on the menu but was not spicy at all. This inconsistency between the menu description and the actual spice level can be seen as a weakness.
Another negative comment pointed out a disappointing experience with the tom yum chicken soup. The customer received a soup that lacked flavor and contained only boiled cabbage and chicken. Even after returning for another soup, the restaurant could only offer to add mushrooms. This lack of flavor and limited ingredients in the soup reflects negatively on the overall taste and quality of their offerings.
Similarly, another customer mentioned that the main courses and ribs were bland and lacking flavor. While the starters were deemed okay, the lack of taste in the main courses is a significant weakness for a Chinese takeaway known for its food.
On the other hand, the positive comments suggest that the overall experience at Andover Chinese Takeaway is often pleasant. Many customers expressed gratitude for the friendly service and efficient order-taking process. The fast service and delicious food were highly praised, with one customer rating it as "BRILLIANT." The value for money and complimentary dishes were also mentioned as positives.
A few minor complaints were raised, such as a lack of parking and the absence of a website. These aspects can be seen as weaknesses in terms of convenience and accessibility.
Overall, Andover Chinese Takeaway seems to have strengths in terms of food quality, quick delivery, and friendly staff. However, there are still areas for improvement, such as consistency in spice levels, flavor in certain dishes, and the provision of additional payment options. Despite these weaknesses, the majority of comments indicate that the restaurant is worth trying and is recommended by customers.

Fresh, hot and tasty foods, pretty quick delivery, well worth for the price.
We’re first time customer and we really enjoyed the foods. Big thanks for the complimentary and extra spicy we’ve asked for ????????.
Really nice beef in green peppers and black bean with fried rice. Listed as 3 chillis on the menu but not spicy at all.
Do not order from them. Ordered their tom yum chicken soup and what i got was boiled cabbage and chicken hot water.. even after going back they could not offer to add anything else into it and had no spice or flavour at all.. even after going back for another soup. They could only off to add mushrooms.. only have cabbage and chicken in a tom yum soup is so tasteless.
Not as good as hoped. Starters was ok . Main courses and ribs were a bit bland and lacking in any sort of flavour.
Friendly staff though and quick turnaround .
Great food, staff really helpful. Owner went put his way to deliver to us, can’t thank him enough. Definitely recommend this establishment for anyone who wants great food at a reasonable price!
This takeaway is BRILLIANT. Every time we call to place an order, the person taking the order is always super efficient and friendly. The service is super fast and the food is always amazing. Cannot rate highly enough. Excellent value for money to and always a complimentary dish.
Very friendly and great service. Meal was also pretty good value and delicious. A really varied menu with some good options. Also no problems paying with contactless, which is important these days. Only complaints are a lack of parking and no website. But I would definitely go again.
Possibly the tastiest Chinese takeaway in Andover and trust me, I've tried many of them (I love Chinese food). Only gripe is that they only use the thin noodles as I usually prefer thicker noodles for my Singapore chow mein though that's just my personal preference. I just feel that sometimes the noodles are quite dry and stringy but not always.
They also used to have a card machine so that you could pay by card when ordering a delivery which has now stopped meaning you can only pay by cash but seeing as not many provide a card machine anyway, it was just good while it lasted .
Other than those very minor gripes, I highly recommend this takeaway.
