Quick Facts About Bondgate Fisheries

Bondgate Fisheries is a popular fish and chips place that has received both positive and negative feedback from customers. In order to evaluate its strengths and weaknesses, it is important to consider the comments provided by customers.
Starting with the strengths, several customers have praised the size and flavor of the fish and chips at Bondgate Fisheries. They have described the portions as massive and the flavor as fantastic. This suggests that the restaurant serves generous portions and uses high-quality ingredients. The crispy batter has also received positive comments, with customers stating that it is lovely and crispy. This indicates that the restaurant has mastered the art of frying fish with a perfect batter.
Another strength of Bondgate Fisheries is its friendly and helpful staff. Multiple customers have mentioned that the staff members are polite and helpful, providing good customer service. This is an important aspect of any dining experience as it contributes to customer satisfaction and creates a positive ambiance.
Additionally, the fact that Bondgate Fisheries offers gluten-free fish and chips is also viewed as a strength by some customers. They have praised the restaurant for catering to their dietary needs and have found the gluten-free fish and chips to be enjoyable. This indicates that Bondgate Fisheries is proactive in accommodating different dietary requirements and is able to provide a satisfying dining experience for customers with gluten intolerance.
On the other hand, there are a number of weaknesses that have been identified by customers. One recurring complaint is the soggy batter. A customer noted that the fish was really big, but the batter was soggy. This suggests that there might be inconsistencies in the cooking process, resulting in some batches of fish and chips having a less desirable texture. Another customer mentioned that the gluten-free fish and chips had an overcooked and rock-hard batter, indicating that there might be issues with the preparation of gluten-free options.
Concerns about hygiene were also raised by customers. One comment mentioned that the person cooking and serving did not have a mask on, and another customer came in without a mask. This raises questions about the restaurant's adherence to health and safety guidelines, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. Customers expect establishments to prioritize the safety and well-being of both customers and staff, and any perceived shortcomings in this area can lead to dissatisfaction.
Furthermore, there was a comment from a customer who did not purchase from Bondgate Fisheries due to concerns about cross-contamination for gluten-free options. As a coeliac, they needed to have full confidence in the restaurant's understanding and handling of gluten-free requirements. This suggests a lack of trust or communication between the restaurant and potential gluten-free customers, which can be a barrier to attracting this specific customer segment.
In conclusion, Bondgate Fisheries has several strengths that contribute to positive customer experiences. Customers have praised the flavor, portion sizes, and friendliness of the staff. The restaurant's provision of gluten-free options has also been appreciated by some customers. However, there are areas where improvement is needed. The inconsistent quality of the batter, concerns about hygiene practices, and a lack of confidence in handling specific dietary requirements are weaknesses that could impact customer satisfaction. Bondgate Fisheries should address these areas in order to provide a consistently high-quality dining experience for all customers.

Looked lovely a really big fish but batter was really soggy When you got past the outside
So no sorry not the best fish I’ve ever had
Was also disappointed that the person cooking and serving didn’t have a mask on. And one customer came in not wearing a mask
If shops now have to ask customers to wear them doesn’t that also include takeaways
Just had Gluten Free fish and chips from Bondgate Fisheries for the first time but it certainly won’t be the last time!! Fantastic flavour, cooked to perfection and massive portions. The staff are very friendly , polite and helpful
These really are the best fish n chips in the area .batter lovely and crispy.
Best fish and chips ever had.
Does fresh gluten free fish and chips and we all agreed the last batch were the best fish and chips we had ever had.
Absolutely faultless.
Gluten free fish and chips isn't very good. The batter was overcooked, rock hard and bland. To add insult to injury, I had to pay a fair bit more for the inconvenience of having coeliac disease. £9.40 for badly cooked fish and chips is very disappointing!
Possibly the finest gluten free fish and chips I have enjoyed. Cooked to perfection, nice size, flavours and textures. I can highly recommend to any fellow gluten free person. My family enjoyed the regular fish and chips very much also. Well done and thank you.
Lovely fish and chips that we enjoyed on a bench by a picturesque stretch of canal nearby.
Haddock was the nicest I'd had in ages and the couple who run it were very pleasant and chatty.
Didn't purchase because I was not confident that they understood about gluten free.
As a coeliac I have to have full confidence that there is no cross contamination.
