Quick Facts About Bromsgrove Town Centre

The comments provided give us some insights into the strengths and weaknesses of Bromsgrove Town Centre. There are clear areas for improvement, as well as positive aspects that should be maintained and further developed.
One of the strengths highlighted in the comments is the friendliness and welcoming nature of the people in Bromsgrove. This is an important characteristic for any town center as it creates a positive atmosphere and encourages people to visit and engage with the local community. Maintaining this friendly atmosphere should be a priority.
The presence of a market in the high street is also seen as a positive aspect. Markets can add vibrancy to a town center and attract both residents and visitors. It is important for the council to support and promote the market to ensure its continued success. Additionally, the range of shops in Bromsgrove is seen as a strength, with an emphasis on independent retailers rather than chain stores. This gives the town center a unique character and should be nurtured in order to differentiate Bromsgrove from other towns.
However, there are several weaknesses highlighted in the comments. One of the main concerns raised is the number of shops that have closed down in Bromsgrove. This creates a negative impression of the town center and can deter people from visiting. The council should take action to attract new businesses and support existing ones by offering incentives and reducing business rates. This will help to bring back a sense of vitality and vibrancy to the high street.
The lack of available options in terms of shopping and dining is also seen as a weakness. Some comments mention the desire for more clothing and trainers shops as well as a McDonald's. The council should take into account the preferences of the local community and work to attract businesses that meet their needs and desires. This can be done by conducting market research and engaging with local residents to understand what types of shops and restaurants they would like to see in Bromsgrove.
Another concern raised in the comments is the run-down appearance of the high street. This can create a negative first impression and deter potential visitors. The council should invest in the maintenance and improvement of the high street, ensuring that it is clean, well-maintained, and attractive. This can be done through initiatives such as street cleaning and improving the aesthetics through landscaping and street furniture.
Lastly, parking is mentioned as an issue. Offering free or affordable parking can attract more visitors to the town center and encourage them to spend more time and money there. The council should consider implementing initiatives such as free parking for a certain duration or discounted rates to incentivize people to choose Bromsgrove as their shopping destination.
In conclusion, the strengths of Bromsgrove Town Centre lie in its welcoming community, vibrant market, and unique range of independent shops. However, there are several weaknesses that need to be addressed, including the closure of shops, lack of shopping and dining options, the run-down appearance of the high street, and parking issues. The council should prioritize attracting new businesses, reducing business rates, improving the appearance of the high street, and implementing parking initiatives to revitalize Bromsgrove Town Centre and make it a vibrant and thriving destination once again.

Bromsgrove used to be a lovely market town sadly that's not the case now .The market is still here but only half the size . lots of shops have closed although there is a couple of places opening the block paving that the council spent having the high Street done up was a waste .as parts of it have been dug up and tarmac put in its place but the people are still friendly and welcoming which is important . so come on the people in control let's get it back to what it used to be a vibrant market town ????????
I used to live here and even though it has changed, it still has a charm about it. There are too many shops that have shut and this does distract from the visit but they did have a market on the day (in the high street) we went and this did make up for it a little. I do like Bromsgrove and I hope it won't suffer the same fate a lot of other towns have suffered with closures and the like. Maybe this would be a great time for the council to bring smaller concerns back in to the high street and it could become a destination town again.
Not long moved from Birmingham. Love Bromsgrove quiet peaceful place.Very friendly most people.High street is ok not to much available could do with a McDonald's and best clothing trainers shops.
Another 4 shops closed or closing down, maybe if BDC wasn't so greedy and offered free parking and if the Rates for the shops wasn't so high they would get more shops which in turn would encourage more shopper's, definitely a case of the special's song "ghost town" sorry but Bromsgrove town center is on its knees R.I.P.
High Street quiet, lots of closed shops, like so many small towns seems a little run down. Card shops, charity shops and plenty of coffee options. Most trade likely in Asda or Morrisons slightly out of town
I visit Bromsgrove two to three times a year staying at the Premier Inn and have always been pleased on returning to see the town is as vibrant as ever.
What makes Bromsgrove high street especially good is it range of shops, it isn't dominated by the usual chains and it's brilliant market.
It also has some great pubs and eating places and all of this in walking distance.
We've seen an increase in charity shops in recent times which I hope the council don't allow to take over and prevent the small independent trader coming to the high street. A great little town with lots to offer and some amazing surrounding countryside in easy reach.
Bromsgrove is a very lovely the people are really friendly and it is just a beautiful place and it has some history behind it and it is ready lovely in this summer
We occasionally visit Bromsgrove for a mooch along the High Street. My husband was born locally so he likes to tell me what was there in his childhood days!! His father and uncle also traded from a couple of the units at the far end of the town repairing TVs and radios so it's always a nostalgic trip!!
We had a couple of parcels to.post so needed the post office, much better service than the one in Kidderminster where the queue is often ignored while one member of staff serves and the other 2 sort out back office issues, very irritating.
Mostly pleasant people around and a safe feeling place to be.
Had a pleasant chat with a salesman in the Hyundai dealership, he gave us up to date information regarding new models so I'll be ready to make a decision when I trade in my i30, the third I've owned!!!
