Quick Facts About Butte House Barber Shop
Butte House Barber Shop has received a mix of positive and negative comments from customers. In order to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of the shop, it is important to consider these comments in detail.
Starting with the strengths, one recurring positive comment is the quality of the haircuts provided by Jose, a barber who is said to have been working at the shop for years. This highlights the presence of at least one skilled and experienced barber at the establishment. It suggests that there is a level of consistency and reliability in terms of the quality of service provided by Jose, which can be seen as a strength for the shop.
Another potential strength is the loyalty and satisfaction of some customers who have been going to the shop regularly for years. This indicates that there are customers who have built a relationship with the barbers at Butte House Barber Shop and trust them with their haircuts. It suggests that the shop has been able to establish a loyal customer base through positive experiences and a good level of service.
Moving on to the weaknesses, one common complaint among customers is the long waiting times. Several customers mentioned waiting for more than an hour to get a haircut, which can be frustrating and inconvenient. This suggests that the shop may not be efficiently managing its scheduling or handling a high volume of customers. Long wait times can negatively affect the customer experience and drive potential customers away.
In addition, there are multiple comments about specific barbers being unprofessional or providing subpar haircuts. Customers have mentioned instances of rude behavior, lack of attention to customer requests, and poor haircut results. These comments indicate a lack of consistency and quality control within the shop, which can significantly impact the reputation and customer satisfaction.
Another weakness that has been highlighted is the cash-only policy of the shop. Some customers see this as unprofessional and inconvenient, as it requires them to withdraw cash from an ATM before getting a haircut. In an era where most businesses accept debit cards, the cash-only policy can be seen as outdated and potentially off-putting to some customers.
It is important to note that while Jose's presence as a skilled barber is a strength, it does not necessarily outweigh the negative experiences shared by other customers. The negative comments about long waiting times, unprofessional behavior, and subpar haircuts indicate areas where the shop needs improvement to provide a consistently positive experience for all customers.
In conclusion, Butte House Barber Shop has both strengths and weaknesses based on customer comments. The presence of a skilled barber and a loyal customer base can be seen as strengths. However, the long waiting times, unprofessional behavior, inconsistent haircuts, and the cash-only policy are weaknesses that need to be addressed in order to improve the overall customer experience at the shop.

I've gone here multiple times in the last few years and never had any problems, until recently. On February 15, my wife came to the shop with our 4 year old son and waited because there didn't seem to be an available barber at the time. One of the barbers, who was seated in his chair on his laptop, stated he was open so my wife and son went over. My wife was asked what she was wanting done, and then told "those seats work" implying she shouldn't be standing up next to our kid. At one point, my son moved his head which then caused the barber to let out a huge sigh and then tell my son, in a rude tone, to not move. This barber seemed very unprofessional, rude and unfriendly towards kids. It seemed he also may have messed up my son's hair as there's a patch of shorter hair near the top of his head(photo attached). He never gave his name, but his chair was the furthest from the front door. He was a tall, African American man. I've once had my haircut done by him and he was very rough with his clippers. I hope the owner reads reviews and is able to find a resolution with my issue/concern. I'm not asking for this man to be fired, but for him to be courteous towards others, especially kids. This also serves as a warning to other future patrons, do not get a haircut done by this man, and if this is the shop you choose, then choose any other barber.
There's 1 decent barber that works during the week but we went on the weekend and I told the barber "short on the sides with a comb over and hard part" It looked OK when we left but after my son took a shower I realized how horribly uneven it was. It looked like he had 2 different hair cuts at once. I felt like I got ripped off because I had to take him to another barber and get his head buzzed to fix it costing me another 30 bucks. Never coming here again
I would avoid this place. You’ll wait well over an hour just get your haircut. The Mexican barber will prioritize his friends over people that are waiting longer. I would go to this place as a last resort and always avoid going near their closing time, otherwise you’ll be waiting all night. Overall a bad experience.
I went for a haircut there, told them how I wanted it. They totally didn't even listen to what I told them, made it look terrible. Depressing. Never going back.
Worst haircut I’ve had in 4 years. After the barber complimented me on my hair, I told him that I use a very high end product for thinning hair. So what does he do? He thins my hair and shaved back my hair line! I don’t think this guy has any idea of how to do a businessman’s haircut. Expensive as hell too. It might as well have been after this butcher got done with my hair, I won’t need another haircut for 4 months. Plus his station and implements were filthy. Avoid this trap at all costs. I will never be back to this dump.
First: This is a cash only business... Which doesn't make much sense, other than to evade taxes and trying to get more off their customers (knowing you will have to withdraw 40 from the ATM), especially when running a debit card costs peanuts in 2022. Why not have a way to run debit cards? Idk, but that is enough for me to not go here.
Comes off very unprofessional & scummy.
Second: hair cuts here are a hit and a miss. They spend a lot of time talking to their regulars, and not busting down cuts; there's always a 1-2 hour wait, which is mighty long for a corner joint like this. Hair cuts are okay, nothing special.
This deserves no stars.i took my son to get a regular faded and this guy mess up his hair so bad.he should of just been honest and said he didn't know how to do fades.and on top of that still paid 20 dollars for the worse haircut..had to take my son to a different place to fix it.
Jose has been my barber for years now and always does a great job.
