Quick Facts About Cheshunt Park Golf Centre
Cheshunt Park Golf Centre is a venue with both strengths and weaknesses, as highlighted by the comments above. Starting with the strengths, the venue offers a good-sized hall for events such as private parties. The bar staff are described as friendly, which contributes to a positive atmosphere. The venue also has a nice view, providing an enjoyable setting for gatherings.
In terms of the golf course itself, the greens are described as reasonable and the fairways are in very good condition. The 6238-yard course offers a mature, tree-lined parkland setting with undulating fairways. This provides an interesting and scenic walk for players. The course management aspect is also mentioned, indicating that strategic thinking is required to navigate the dogleg holes, fairway bunkers, lateral ditches, and water hazards. The greens are said to be true and undulating, which adds to the challenge. Overall, the golf course is described as improving and worth a visit.
The venue also offers additional amenities for golfers, such as a driving range, driving nets, and practice putting and chipping green. While some of these amenities, such as the driving nets, are described as being in rundown condition, it is noted that the driving range has some new equipment. This suggests that efforts are being made to improve the facilities. The presence of a halfway house snack bar is also mentioned, providing convenient refreshments for golfers during their round.
On the downside, the condition of the course can be a weakness. One comment mentions that the course is currently in poor condition, with temporary tees and disruption due to weather problems. This lack of information and reduced green fees for such conditions is criticized. Additionally, there are plans by the council to put a road through the golf course, which would lead to temporary greens, disruption, and diggers for a prolonged period. This potential development is strongly opposed by commenters, as it would negatively impact the parkland setting of the course.
The bunkers are another area of weakness. They are described as being either very hard or having freshly laid sand, suggesting inconsistent maintenance. This is seen as a letdown and affects the overall experience of playing the course. The lack of ball washers and poor bunker maintenance are mentioned as areas that are being addressed by the current green staff, indicating efforts to improve these aspects.
Other areas of improvement mentioned include the condition of the paths, which are described as muddy and in need of bark clippings to improve traction. There is also a suggestion for the venue to have a better presence of a pro shop, as it is described as non-existent by one commenter.
Despite these weaknesses, the overall consensus is that Cheshunt Park Golf Centre is a good course, better than some private courses. The friendly staff, enjoyable playing experience, and reasonable green fees are positive factors that make it worth visiting. Commenters express a willingness to play the course again and recommend it to others.
In conclusion, Cheshunt Park Golf Centre has its strengths, such as a good-sized hall for events, friendly bar staff, and a scenic and challenging golf course. However, there are weaknesses, including poor course condition at times, potential disruption due to planned development, shortcomings in bunker maintenance, and the need for improvement in certain amenities. Despite these weaknesses, commenters overall find the course enjoyable and worth a visit.

We supplied chocolate fountain for private party at this venue good size hall friendly barstaff.
Course very poor condition. Temporary tees. Greens reasonable. Normally good course, Obviously weather problems. Should have been informed on booking and reduced green fees.
*Update, there are plans by the council to put a road through the golf course and change 7 holes. Temporary greens, disruption ans diggers for many many months.
All for developers. Down to 1 star if this goes ahead. No way is it right to put a road through a PARK.
The course is constantly improving. Its not short! Aside from the clubhouse you can Grab a bacon roll off Arthur in the hut by the driving range as you go round.
Its 6238 yards off the yellows a mature tree lined parkland course with an easy undulating fairway walk, dogleg holes, fairway bunkers, lateral ditches & water hazards(some hidden) therefore course management comes?
The greens were true & undulating fairways were all in very good condition, some private clubs would jealous. Sadly the bunkers were very hard or had freshly laid sand. Ball cleaner on the tees some were broken. There was several long par 4’s.So if you’re a short hitter like me you will struggle to get there in 2.
With driving range, driving nets in rundown condition & practises putting chipping green, driving range& halfway house snack bar.
Pro Shop was non-existent with friendly staff.
Overall a very good course will definitely play it again and worth a visit.
We paid £15 Sunday @ 11 o’clock through Play More Golf great valve.
Overall a very good municipal course better than some private courses, will definitely play again and worth a visit.
I would give more but the bunkers let it down
The paths are very muddy it would not take much for the ground staff to put some bark clippings down there us a massive pile by the main gate.
The course is well laid out and is recovering from the very dry summer. Its a good test for the average golfer although feel low handicappers might find it less testing. It let its self down on things like lack of ball washers and poor bunker maintainance but these things are being addressed by the current green staff.Excellent bar staff .
Nice venue for a party, appropriate size for a large gathering. Inside/ outside seating. Lovely view.
Great course, see Arthur in his hut half way round for a great Bacon butty and a warm drink. DRIVING range has some new equipment. Great course friendly staff
