Very good as it's dog friendly in tap room and best room
The Cricketers Arms is a traditional pub with a difference! History shows that the former England cricketer Harold Larwood who was an instrumental part of England's infamous Bodyline tour of Australia in 1932–1933 and his fellow professional Bill Voce frequented this pub on regular occasions. According to current pub landlord Colin, the building that is in need of some modernisation and repairs should be a listed heritage site because of its connection with Larwood and Voce. He's tried to do this himself, but to no avail and fears that the brewery won't invest in the future of the pub could result in this historic place being torn down!! The pub is definitely worth a visit and many artifacts are on show that particularly relate to Harold Larwood, so if you're a big fan of cricket then get yourself along to the Cricketers Arms and show your support for Colin and the future of the pub!!
