Quick Facts About Genesis Dominican Doobie Salon

Genesis Dominican Doobie Salon has received mixed reviews from customers, highlighting both strengths and weaknesses of the salon. It is important to analyze these comments to determine the overall strengths and weaknesses of the salon.
Starting with the strengths, several customers mentioned positive experiences with specific hair stylists, such as Denora and Candy. They praised their skills and the quality of the blowouts, flat irons, colors, and rod sets they received. Customers also appreciated the fair pricing and the cleanliness of the salon. The professional atmosphere and the presence of inspirational music were also mentioned as positive aspects.
Additionally, the salon was praised for its customer service. Some customers mentioned that the stylists made sure they were comfortable during the service and went above and beyond to meet their needs. They appreciated the attention to detail and the effort put into ensuring customer satisfaction.
On the other hand, the salon also faced several weaknesses according to customers' feedback. One major complaint was regarding the unprofessional and rude behavior of Dinorah, one of the stylists. She was described as feisty, always late, and unwilling to explain her methods to the customers. This behavior was off-putting and left a negative impression on those who interacted with her.
Another weakness mentioned was a lack of transparency regarding a change in management. One customer walked into the salon expecting to receive services from a hair stylist but found out that the salon had been transformed into a barber shop. This lack of communication and clarity can be frustrating for customers who have specific expectations and hair needs.
Furthermore, there were concerns about the skill level and knowledge of some stylists. One customer mentioned that their hair was damaged after a stylist put a chemical in it, causing it to break off. Another customer experienced severe hair loss and an unpleasant odor after receiving a blowout at the salon. These incidents raise concerns about the training and expertise of the stylists, leading to doubts regarding the salon's ability to handle natural hair properly.
In conclusion, Genesis Dominican Doobie Salon has both strengths and weaknesses. The salon is appreciated for its skilled stylists, fair pricing, cleanliness, and customer service. However, negative experiences with one specific stylist, lack of transparency in management changes, and concerns about the skill level of some stylists raise significant concerns. Potential customers should consider these strengths and weaknesses before deciding to visit the salon.

Do yourself a favor and don’t go to this salon for a blowout! Dinorah was extremely rude and feisty to me she proceeded to tell me that she was going to do my hair “her way” as I asked her to explain she started to have a mini meltdown! She’s unprofessional and always late! Not a nice person or someone you should consider to do your hair!
Nice blow out and flat iron. Good price. Denora is great.
The salon is under new management, and has been changed to a barber shop under a different name. There are now 7-10 barbers for men and 1 female hair stylist.
The worst experience I ever had I was shocked when I walked in and saw the shop was mostly a barber shop but the guy I’m the front greeted me and walked me to the back where I was met by a older lady I was kind of in a rush so I said let me try this place out. Honestly my gut told me walk out and look somewhere else. My hair was freshly washed and she kept telling me it was oily I have very dry I been getting my hair done by Dominican women for over twenty years so I know what my hair type is. She washed it and started blowing it out she put the blow dryer away and said I’ll flat iron I asked her will that fix my roots because my hair is very curly and needs to be dryer well to be straight she told me you didn’t let me finish and if you going to ruin my day just pay me for the wash. I was so in shocked I said it was just a question and just continue doing your thing. She started giving me a attitude and tried to pass me off on someone else because she doesn’t like people questioning her. I would never go there and never recommend her to anyone. She even tried to charge me $25 to walk out worse than I walked in
Be careful here a stylist put some chemical in my hair and it relaxed it. I was all natural. My hair began to break off after 60 days. I thought initially very good. However some shady stuff goes on in these salons. Especially if you are new. I shared my story with family and they told me they know about them messing up people's hair with chemicals. I couldn't figure out when it happen I am thinking during wash. But beware of you have natural hair.
Dinorah was very nice. She made sure I was good and my phone was charged. My hair came out amazing. I was little concerned because some salons charge extra for my texture. However, she was very fair. I highly recommend her services.
I went to this salon for the first time and I have to say, Candy did an amazing job on my hair. I got a color and a rod set done at a great price. This place is clean and the staff are very professional. I love listening to the inspiration music while getting my hair done. I want to say thank you Candy and I will recommend your shop to my family and friends.
I went there in October to get a blow out. They barely put heat protector on my hair. A week later my hair began coming out in clumps. Every time I would wash my hair afterwards it would smell like eggs as if I had a perm. I ended up losing all of my hair in the back and the middle. I’ve been natural for years and had no problems with my hair until I went to this salon.
