Five stars for virtually everything and everyone here. The food was terrific and the variety was ample. The staff were amazing, especially for a fairly busy Friday evening. The interior was immaculate and arguably one of the nicest I've seen in this part of England. I didn't get the fish and chips this time, but will do next time. It looked amazing. (We had a party of 16, which they easily accommodated, so there were many different orders.) Highest recommendation to come here.
Such an absolutely lovely pub, staff were wonderful and friendly and the inside is beautiful and very relaxing and comfortable. We went for the Sunday roast and I could not eat till the day after as it was huge, also I wasn't expecting the brownie to be so big. As I like plenty on my plate I was very very happy and it all tasted incredible. Love this pub.

Visited bank holiday Monday and was relatively quiet.
Food was nice but was let down by the poor service, waiting staff were inattentive leaving us without plates for a starter and without drinks and condiments for our main.
Great service even though it was busy, very friendly from the moment we walked in and even throughout the meal. loved the roast (not a fan of red cabbage though lol)
Lovely, cozy building, greeted by James who I think was GM. Friendly & helpful. Staff were all very helpful without being over bearing. Starters Southern Fried Chicken was as good as we’ve ever had, succulent & crispy & dip was yummy. Roast was very good, beef was perfect. Well done everyone. Will definitely be back ✅ Just one thing to put roasties on separate dish to keep crisp & not underneath the meat. 9.5/10
My family visited for Sunday lunch with the new owners. The food was amazing and highly recommended. They have only been open a couple of weeks but the restaurant was fully booked. We did have a problem with one of the starters but it was rectified quickly and the food did take a while to get to us but wow was it worth the wait. The staff was very attentive, friendly and couldn't do enough for us.
Recommended to family and friends. We all can not wait to visit again.
A most disappointing experience tonight - 27/02/23.
The Supper Menu shown on their website was no longer available - even though still showing at time of meal. The lighting was so dim, it was almost impossible to read the menu. The chicken schnitzel I ordered was a chunk of chicken covered in thick tasteless breadcrumbs. I suggested to the waiter this was not a schnitzel, as it should have been a thin slice of meat which had been pounded by a tenderiser. He took my plate away and returned with a different piece of chicken which was just as chunky. The truffle butter which was supposed to be oozing onto the schnitzel was, in both cases, frozen so hard, that the thick breadcrumbs weren’t warm enough to melt it. There were two members of staff on duty. A most delightful waiter who we felt did his v best given he had no support. The other member of staff was “the manager”. This lady needs a lot of training before she should be representing a restaurant. The five of us who were dining will never return and we shall make sure our friends are aware of our appalling experience.
Such a shame as we had many wonderful meals when it was run by the previous owners. Thank you to the lovely waiter.
