This suggests that there may be inconsistencies in the quality of the food, leading to potentially disappointing dining experiences for customers.
4. Cleanliness issues: One comment mentions encountering a broken cistern and a used dirty nappy in the bathroom. This raises concerns about the restaurant's cleanliness standards and suggests that the management may not be effectively supervising and maintaining cleanliness throughout the establishment.

In conclusion, George's Great British Kitchen has several strengths, including a diverse selection of fish dishes, attractive presentation of food, unique desserts, and friendly service. However, the weaknesses lie in slow service, overpricing, inconsistent food quality, cleanliness issues, and limited vegetarian options. Addressing and improving these weaknesses can help the restaurant enhance its overall dining experience and customer satisfaction.
Best TL Reviews
Sehr gute Auswahl an Fischgerichten. Alles toll angerichtet. Ausgefallene Desserts. Toller freundlicher Service. Sehr empfehlenswert
We dined there tonight about 5.30 and have to say its one of the nicest little places we have been for food.
My partner had the chicken and waffles and said it was gorgeous, the best waffles he's ever had but he would recommend putting the syrup in a pot as he personally doesn't like a lot of syrup on his chicken.
I had the steak and ale pie and omg it is THE best steak and ale pie I have ever had. So light and succulent. I would say you definitely don't need two of the individual pies as q portion, one is more than enough. And the chips are so delicious! We ended up boxing the second pie and some of the left over chicken up to take back with us. All the staff were super lovely and helpful too.
Such a fab place to eat, wish there was one more local to Wigan to visit once we get back home.
Came here after a trip to the cinema as i we were super hungry... walked in got seated in a booth which felt comfortable, great music but few customers. Ordered fish and chips good taste fish was not as what i expected as it wasnt like a fatty fried fish ????. Took a while for food to arrive but that's okay as the drinks came first anyway.
Overall:
- Clean environment looked spotless
- Friendly staff
- Good music
But overpriced
I'm so surprised at the good rating. The venue looks good, the waiters are polite but it is literally one of the worst restaurants I have visited food wise. I ordered a ceasar salad with chicken which was over £15 so quite pricey but tasted not good at all. The chicken was OK but the salad itself was full of water, the boiled eggs started to turn grey so not fresh, the croutons tasted revolting, not enough sauce. My son had a kids chicken and waffle. Again the chicken was OK but the waffle was soggy and the chips tasted of old oil. The add to the insult they charged us £2.90 for my son's soda water and lime which would have been expensive as it is but arrived as just plain water and lime. I have been to many restaurants in Leeds and this was by far the worst one which was a shame as put a damper on the end of our day out. I mentionned the poor quality of the meal to the waitress at the end and said she was sorry and that was it. Needless to say we will not be back.
A restaurant for people who don't enjoy eating. Extremely over-priced and very bland food. Service wasn't great as we had to ask for things twice, and noticed other tables having to ask where their food was as they had waited so long. A service charge was also added to a drinks order when we were still sat at the bar. Staff were all polite which was the only redeeming feature of the place.
The atmosphere was good and the service is also good the cleanliness is not. I appreciate that since the pandemic it has been difficult to get staff but the management of any resturant need to step up and do the jobs that clearly the younger staff do not think about!
While mid eating I had to use the Bathrooms only to find a broken cistern and a used dirty nappy placed on top of a bin! While I feel for the staff their, it is their duty if they want repeat customer to keep these areas clean and functioning!
Overall, food OK (some of my chips were not cooked?! Chips for god sake how hard can it be?!) But the cleanliness very poor.
Great food. The onion bhaji battered cod was amazing! The interior design was very nice with little beach hut type things you can sit in. Wonderful cocktail menu and quite a few gins. The cappuccino tasted better than what it looked. And although we didn't have dessert the menu sounded very nice I'm not sure I could've chosen just one. The main menu however didn't have very much choice especially for vegetarians.
Cocktails that we tried were all nice, I like the screwball one which was only a fiver. Starter was really nice, the goats cheese parcels, my main wasn't anything special, the chickpea and spinach burger. Although my friends liked their main courses. I would go back but maybe wait till they changed their menu for some nicer veggie options.
