Quick Facts About GinnieO's Dog & Cat Grooming
GinnieO's Dog & Cat Grooming has received both positive and negative comments, which reflect its strengths and weaknesses.
One strength of the grooming place is its excellent service and customer satisfaction. Many customers commented on the skills and friendliness of the staff, particularly Ginnie and Felicia. They mentioned that they have been going to GinnieO's for several years and have always had positive experiences. The groomers are praised for their professionalism, expertise, and ability to handle difficult dogs. This demonstrates that GinnieO's has built a loyal customer base due to its quality service.
Another strength of GinnieO's is its flexibility and responsiveness. One customer mentioned that they were able to squeeze in an appointment for their dog, even at the last minute. This shows that the grooming place is willing to accommodate customers' needs and provide timely service.
Additionally, GinnieO's is commended for its ability to address specific concerns or problems. One customer mentioned that their dog had rolled in something dead and they couldn't get rid of the smell with regular baths. GinnieO's provided a special bath with a specific shampoo that successfully eliminated the smell. This demonstrates that GinnieO's is attentive to customers' needs and is willing to go the extra mile to solve grooming issues.
However, there are some weaknesses highlighted in the comments as well. One major concern is the negative experience of a customer who bought a puppy from GinnieO's and unfortunately, the puppy died shortly after due to health issues. The customer mentioned that the breeder, Virginia Holmes, did not provide appropriate guidance regarding the puppy's health and nutrition. This incident raises concerns about the breeding practices and the level of care provided to pets at GinnieO's.
Another weakness mentioned is the poor customer service experienced by a customer. They mentioned that Ginnie, the owner, was rude and hung up on them when they called to inquire about their dog's grooming progress. This indicates a lack of professionalism and appropriate communication skills on the part of the owner.
The cleanliness of the grooming place is also criticized by a customer who described it as "disgusting." While it is acknowledged that a grooming place for animals may not be spotless, this comment suggests that GinnieO's may need to improve its cleanliness standards to ensure a hygienic environment for the pets and customers.
Furthermore, there are two additional incidents mentioned that raise concerns about the safety and organization of GinnieO's. One customer mentioned that they paid with cash, but the grooming place did not have enough change and had to go across the street to get it. Another customer mentioned that their dog almost fell off the table during the checkout process, potentially putting the dog's safety at risk. These incidents highlight the need for better organization and attentiveness to ensure a smooth and safe client experience.
Overall, GinnieO's Dog & Cat Grooming has strengths in providing excellent service, flexibility, and addressing specific customer concerns. However, there are notable weaknesses in terms of breeder accountability, customer service, cleanliness, and safety. These areas require attention and improvement to ensure customer satisfaction and the well-being of the pets.

There are not enough positive things I can say. I live a little ways away but I won't take my Katie anywhere else!!! Felicia and Ginnie are both amazing! I happened upon them several years ago by accident. I was between groomers and my friend (who had recently also gotten a shih tzu) went to Ginnie O's on a same day appointment. I was so impressed I called the following day and have only been going there since then!!
I bought a three-month-old Maltese/Yorky mix puppy from Virginia Holmes, owner of Ginny o's dog and cat grooming. The purchase was made on September 14,2022 and the puppy died on September 17th, 2022. The puppy died from heart failure and an ultrasound demonstrated a tumor on her liver and spleen. The emergency pet hospital Dr. told me that a grain free diet was contraindicated for a puppy that small because it causes heart problems. I called Virginia the next day on September 15, 2022 to let her know that the little puppy was listless. Virginia told me to give her some Karo syrup. After doing this the puppy seemed better. I called Virginia several times after that as the puppy reverted back to listlessness again. The 24 hour emergency hospital personnel on Mission Avenue and Division Street were remarkable, most caring and very attentive to the puppy's continued failure to thrive. On September 16, 2022 I tried repeated times to call Virginia Holmes. She did not take my calls and did not return my messages until the 17th and again on the 18th by this time the puppy had expired. Virginia returned my $1200 that I paid for the puppy. But I am seeking damages regarding the hospital bill.. Pain-and-suffering damages at this time are a real possibility for me to seek from the court. I pray that this terrible scenario would not repeat itself to another of her customers. Sincerely Candice Lance
What a lovely lady. She and her son cut the nails of my three dogs. They did a wonderful job. We will definitely see them again. Thank you
My dog rolled in something very dead and after 2 baths, I couldn't get the smell out. So I called GinnieO's right before they closed and they were able to squeeze me in to give my dog a bath with some special shampoo and it took care of the smell! Thank you!
They did the best grooming on my Pomeranian. I will always go to them now. They are the best and so very friendly. Love them
Very nice people/owner. My pom is difficult and hates being groomed, usually being so mad at me for taking her that she wants nothing to do with me when I pick her up. (It's funny actually) When I picked her up from GinnieO, she actually smiled and even gave Ginnie loves before we left. It's got a homey vibe and very reasonably priced. I left the area a week after our visit or I'd make this our permanent groomer. Thanks Ginnie!
I’m not one to leave bad reviews, but I feel this needs to be addressed.
I called yesterday and got in for today 12/1 at 11am, on the phone I informed her that my dog is 40lbs. She told me the price would be $30. I dropped my doxy/pitbull mix off a little before 11am. She wasn’t done until 1:15 the same day. I was told one hour, if they had told me it’ll be two hours then okay, I would have understood. I planned my day around the hour time frame.
The place is disgusting, I don’t expect it to be super pristine as it’s for animals.. but it’s just gross.
The staff is great and very friendly and that’s why I gave them an extra star. Except;
I believe I spoke to Ginnie on the phone when I called to check on my dog after 1hr 45minutes. She was very rude and hung up on me.
And after all of this I ended up paying $45 when I was told $30.
I’m really disappointed as I wanted a local groomer.
Edit:
I wanted to add that when I was there paying, I paid with cash and they didn’t have any money to give me change. $15 in change. The worker had to go across the street to get change from yokes.
AND
When I was checking out the gentleman put my dog on a table and she almost fell off; she would have been hanging by her neck.
First time taking the dog to the groomer, and Ginnie did a fantastic job! She’s so good with the dogs, she put them at ease and made them feel safe. When we picked them up they looked better then ever, they even smelled good! Ginnie definitely earned some loyal customers! Great job!
