Quick Facts About Harry Hotspur
Harry Hotspur Place, based on the comments provided, has both strengths and weaknesses that impact its overall reputation and customer experience. This analysis will outline these points in greater detail.
Starting with the strengths, several comments praise the staff at Harry Hotspur Place. The consensus is that the staff is helpful, friendly, and delightful. This creates a positive atmosphere and contributes to a good customer experience. The availability of good quality beer is also mentioned as a positive aspect of the pub.
Another strength highlighted in the comments is the quality of the Chinese food served at Harry Hotspur Place. It is described as authentic and tasty, with specific recommendations for dishes such as sweet and sour and "salt and pepper" chips. This indicates that despite being a traditional English pub, the Chinese cuisine offered is of a high standard.
Additionally, the convenience of the pub's location is mentioned positively in one comment. This could be seen as a strength for those looking for a nearby place to enjoy a meal or a drink.
Moving on to the weaknesses, one frequently mentioned issue is the unwelcoming staff. This negative aspect is counteracted by the positive comments about the staff, suggesting inconsistency in customer service. This inconsistency could be a source of frustration for patrons.
Another criticism is the unclear food pricing and discrepancy between the prices on the menu and the actual cost on the receipt. This lack of transparency may lead to customer dissatisfaction and a sense of being overcharged. Additionally, the presentation and value for money of the food are criticized. The food is described as not well presented and not worth the price, indicating a lack of satisfaction in the dining experience.
The layout and atmosphere of the pub are also highlighted as negatives. The presence of children running around and screaming is mentioned as a disturbance and not in line with the atmosphere desired by some patrons. In addition, the lack of customers and overall ambiance are criticized, with one comment suggesting that the pub is in need of a complete refurbishment.
Furthermore, some negative comments mention the low-quality beef curry, the lack of flavor in the salt and pepper chips, and the grainy texture of the curry sauce. These criticisms highlight issues with the quality and flavor of the food.
Lastly, the dated and poorly lit decor is identified as a weakness, which contrasts with the positive comments about the food. The appearance of the pub may impact the overall impression and satisfaction of customers.
In conclusion, Harry Hotspur Place has strengths in terms of friendly staff, good beer, and tasty Chinese food. However, its weaknesses lie in inconsistent customer service, unclear pricing, subpar food presentation and taste, disruptive atmosphere, and outdated decor. These strengths and weaknesses must be taken into consideration when evaluating the overall experience at Harry Hotspur Place.

Unfortunately the staff weren't very welcoming, the layout of it quite pleasant. My two worst complaints are the food menu on the bar isn't very clear, when I ordered our food at the price from the menu the cost on the receipt was about 20% more, when I queried this the young lady said that the prices on the menu were take out prices.
The food itself wasn't in my opinion well presented or value for money.
I won't be returning there again.
Nice enough pub but kids under 5 running about and screaming like it's a playground doesn't do it for me . Really nice staff and good beer .
Lovely beer and staff are always helpful. Good atmosphere
Disappointing to say the least.....in need of a complete refurb.....used to love this place. Went for a quick pint. No food and lacking customers. A great shame. Will day the landlord was very pleasant. Hope this place picks up ????
Fantastic pub. Great, authentic Chinese food, with lovely local ales.
Particularly recommend the sweet and sour dishes and the “salt and pepper” chips (salt and pepper with unique Chinese spices - really incredible!)
Staff are a delight too. Convenient location.
Went on a Tuesday evening. The place was empty, a few locals were at the bar. Ladies darts competition at the corner, nothing else. Kitchen was open and the food was nice. Traditional Chinese cuisine in a traditional English pub - bit confused but it surprisingly works.
Really didn't enjoy our meal here beef curry was the worst I've eaten. Chewy grey looking beef, salt an pepper chips need more than just serving with onions they need flavour. Curry sauce was grainy too. Atmosphere isn't very good it's just a bar with drunk people shouting, not really a great experience. Overall wasn't the special night we had hoped for we stayed total of 45mins. Would not recommended at all.
This place is a hidden gem if you like Chinese food. It has a basic traditional English menu, and a good Chinese menu. I have eaten here a few times and the food is lovely and well priced. It's just a shame the overall decor is so dated, and poorly lit Staff are friendly and helpful. Worth visit.
