Quick Facts About Jeppo's cafe Hartford
Jeppo's Cafe at Hartford Place has received a range of comments, indicating both strengths and weaknesses of the establishment. It is important to analyze these comments to get a comprehensive understanding of the cafe's performance.
One of the recurring weaknesses mentioned in the comments is the cleanliness of the cafe. Customers pointed out issues such as flies on the margarine tub, dirty floors, and even a cook not washing his hands before preparing food. These hygiene concerns are a significant weakness that needs to be addressed immediately. Not only does it impact the reputation of the cafe, but it also poses potential health risks to the customers.
Another major criticism focused on the overall maintenance of the cafe. One customer described it as closed and derelict, with overflowing bins and signs urging customers to dispose of their rubbish properly. This indicates a lack of care and responsibility on the part of the cafe's operators. Neglected maintenance contributes negatively to the atmosphere and detracts from the overall dining experience.
The dirty sauce bottles, broken tap in the sink, and half-broken and urinated-on toilet seat are additional points of concern raised in the comments. These issues reflect poor maintenance and lack of attention to detail, which further contributes to the negative perception of the cafe's cleanliness.
However, not all the comments were negative. Some customers praised the friendly staff, reasonable prices, good service, and quality of food. Positive comments specifically mentioned the great food, big portions, handmade chips, great bacon butties, and reasonable prices. These comments highlight the potential strengths of Jeppo's Cafe in terms of the taste and value of the food, as well as the friendliness of the staff.
It is important to note that one comment expressed satisfaction with the tea and coffee, but advised bringing your own food due to the limited selection. This suggests that while the drink offerings may be satisfactory, the variety and quality of the food menu may need improvement.
Based on these comments, it is clear that Jeppo's Cafe has some significant weaknesses related to cleanliness and maintenance. These issues may create a negative perception among potential customers and affect the overall reputation of the cafe. However, there are also some strengths in terms of food quality, service, and affordability that may attract customers.
To improve, Jeppo's Cafe should prioritize addressing the hygiene concerns by implementing better cleaning practices and ensuring staff members adhere to proper food handling and hygiene standards. Regular inspections by local public health authorities may also help to identify and rectify any shortcomings. Additionally, investing in the maintenance of the establishment, including the toilets and overall cleanliness, would considerably improve customer satisfaction.
By addressing these weaknesses and capitalizing on its strengths, Jeppo's Cafe has the potential to elevate its reputation and attract more customers.

Food was OK, till started looking around. Flies on the marg tub, dirty floors. Cook didn't wash his hands before preparing my food. Maybe a check from local public health may buck up the operators ideas up. Won't be calling again
It was closed and derelict! There was bins overflowing with rubbish everywhere and it looked a right dump, it was a disgrace. What made it worse was that there were signs everywhere telling you to put your rubbish in a bin....surely someone...council maybe still responsible for the maintenance of this layby area??
It was dirty, the sauce bottles stuck to your fingers as you tried to put it down. The toilet is disgusting, the tap is in pieces in the sink, there's only half a toilet seat and that's been urinated on dozens of times so I had to clean it with toilet paper. I'm just glad I had eaten before I went to the toilet. It was against the law to not provide hand washing facilities in a place where you eat, before you ate your meal when I was in business too.
Very friendly reasonably priced good service and good food. Would definitely call in again when passing.
Great food, great service and big portions in a lovely setting. Plus handmade chips
My advice for this place is bring your own food. Not a great selection but the tea and coffee was satisfactory.
Decent quality ingredients, at an extremely reasonable price, cooked to perfection ???????? & Anyone who would give this place 1* in my opinion must be a stuck up half-wit because from a first glance, this place seriously exceeds expectations.
Great bacon butties and other food, a lovely cup of tea and a variety of cold drinks.
