Quick Facts About King Neptune

King Neptune is a fish and chips restaurant located in Windsor. Based on the comments provided, there are several strengths and weaknesses that can be identified.
One of the evident strengths of King Neptune is its delicious fish and chips. According to a customer, they have the best fish and chips in the area. This positive feedback indicates that the restaurant excels in its main dish, which is a significant factor for its success. Additionally, the comment about the amazing curry sauce suggests that King Neptune offers a variety of tasty accompaniments to enhance the overall dining experience.
Another strength highlighted in the comments is the wonderful owner and staff. Customers appreciate the attentive and friendly service provided by the staff members. The owner even went the extra mile by accommodating a special request for a gluten-free meal for a customer's son. This level of personalized service can greatly enhance the overall dining experience and create a positive impression of the establishment.
The affordability of the meals at King Neptune is another strength mentioned. A customer stated that the portions were large and suitable for sharing among multiple people. This indicates that the restaurant offers good value for money and can be an attractive option for those looking for a reasonably priced meal.
Conversely, there are a few weaknesses that have been highlighted in the comments. One of the main weaknesses mentioned is regarding the quality of the food. A customer expressed disappointment with an overcooked haddock and watery processed peas. This suggests that there may be inconsistencies in the preparation of dishes and an occasional lack of attention to detail in the overall cooking process.
In addition, there were negative comments about the chips. One customer described them as weird-tasting and soggy, while another customer found them to be raw. These comments indicate a lack of consistency and quality control in the preparation of the chips, which is a significant aspect of fish and chips.
Another weakness mentioned was the restaurant's payment policy. It was stated that King Neptune only accepts cash payments, which can be inconvenient for customers who prefer to pay by card. Although there is an ATM available nearby, not accepting card payments may deter some potential customers and result in a negative impression of the establishment.
Overall, King Neptune has several strengths, including its delicious fish and chips, attentive staff, and affordability. However, there are weaknesses related to the quality of the food, specifically the overcooked haddock and inconsistent preparation of chips, as well as the inconvenience of not accepting card payments. Addressing these weaknesses could further improve the dining experience at King Neptune and attract a wider range of customers.

We have been in windsor for a month and I can easily say that King Neptune has the best fish and chips. Try their amazing curry sauce. Wonderful owner. Even cooked a special fish without breading for my son who is struggling with gluten.
They have a very delicious potato with vinegar,,I did order 2 fish,,1 potato and they are big amount for one person you should follow (sharing is caring) here????
Fish is OK,,staff are very nice..
Normally I’m very pleased with King Neptune however, tonight I paid over £8 for a very small piece of overcooked haddock. The chips were good but the mushy peas weren’t mushy, they were watery processed peas. Very poor for a meal that was £18 plus.
Worst fish and chips I have ever had, chips were basically raw, the fish was so small I have had bigger chips, mushy peas and curry sauce where basically water and the staff complained that I wanted to pay by card, wish I could put 0 stars personally
Great friendly service going so far as to offer us some chips to eat whilst we waited for our order.
Fish n Chips was perfect and just what the family needed after a long day of walking around the sites.
Nice pub opposite too in the unlikely event you have to wait long for your food!
Excellent food, we had a big order and he cooked it quickly
Was in the area and needed food so a quick Google search told me that this was the ‘Best Fish and Chips in England’.
No, it’s horrible. I have no idea what the chips were cooked in but they tasted weird and were really soggy. I’m sure the area has better but after trying the chips at King Neptune I totally lost my appetite.
