Quick Facts About King's
King's Place is a chip shop in Llanelli that has received mixed reviews from customers. While it has some strengths, such as a range of vegetarian options and friendly service, it also has weaknesses, such as long wait times, undercooked food, and a lack of organization.
One of the strengths of King's Place mentioned in the comments is its range of vegetarian options. This is important in catering to different dietary preferences and needs. It shows that the chip shop is mindful of a diverse customer base and is willing to accommodate them.
Another positive aspect highlighted in the comments is the good taste of the chips. It is mentioned that the chips had little bits of batter on them, adding extra crunch. This attention to detail in the cooking process can enhance the overall dining experience and leave a positive impression on customers.
The sauce, specifically the curry sauce, is also praised for being nice and spicy. This adds flavor and complements the chips well. A good sauce can elevate a dish and make it more enjoyable, so this is a strength of King's Place.
However, there are weaknesses that have been mentioned multiple times in the comments. One recurring issue is the long wait times for food. One customer mentions waiting over half an hour for some chips and a cheeseburger. This can be frustrating for customers who are hungry and expect quicker service. Long wait times can also deter potential customers from choosing King's Place and opting for other options instead.
Undercooked food is another weakness mentioned in the comments. One customer states that the burger was very undercooked and cold. This is a major issue as it indicates a lack of attention to food safety and proper cooking techniques. Undercooked food can pose health risks and is not acceptable in a restaurant or chip shop setting.
There are also complaints about incorrect orders and missing items. One customer mentions that their order came out wrong, with chicken wings instead of chicken strips, and one meal didn't come out at all. While the staff were apologetic and provided new drinks, this kind of mistake can be frustrating for customers and disrupt their dining experience. Attention to detail and organization are lacking in these instances.
The staff at King's Place also receive criticism in the comments. One customer mentions feeling ignored and left alone while placing an order, and another customer describes the staff as rude and ignorant. This kind of behavior from staff can create a negative atmosphere and drive customers away. Customer service is a crucial aspect of any restaurant or chip shop, and King's Place falls short in this regard.
In terms of the physical location, parking is mentioned as a nightmare. Station Road, where King's Place is located, has limited parking options, with many side streets being permit holder parking only. This can discourage customers from visiting by car and make it inconvenient for those who do. Being located a 5/10-minute walk from the town center is mentioned as a possible solution, but it still poses a challenge for customers who prefer to drive.
Despite these weaknesses, one comment mentions that King's Place is reasonably priced and has a good selection of food items. This can be an advantage for those looking for affordable options and variety in their meals. Additionally, the sit-in eating area has been rearranged to accommodate social distancing, which shows that King's Place is following safety guidelines during the pandemic.
In conclusion, King's Place has strengths such as a range of vegetarian options and friendly service, but it also has weaknesses like long wait times, undercooked food, and a lack of organization. These weaknesses can detract from the overall dining experience and pose challenges for customers. However, efforts such as reasonable pricing and adherence to safety guidelines are positive aspects that should be acknowledged.

Great chip shop with a range of vegetarian options as well.
We had chips and curry sauce. The chips were good, and had little bits of batter on them which must have been in the oil, but it added a bit of extra crunch. The chips were a little pale and greasy for my liking, but the sauce was nice and spicy!
A bit of a faded glory chip shop and peri chicken place. Has a good name generally locally. But not the very best of produce but OK. Staff are efficient and it does the job.
The whole experience was pretty dire unfortunately. It took a while for the lady to take our order, turns out she was new so understandable, but she should have been assisted more and not just left to it. Then our order came out wrong, chicken wings came out instead of chicken strips. One meal didn't come out at all, chicken bites and chips. They were most apologetic and gave as new drinks whilst we waited on the food. Then when the chicken bites did come out the chicken inside was cold and the chips weren't cooked properly, they obviously tried rushing that meal as it was late. I'd of preferred to wait 10 times longer for my food to of been cooked. At this point we just upped and left.
Honestly the time I waited for some chips and a cheeseburger was ridiculous over half an hour! If it wasn't for my friend I would have lefft. However the chips are very nice but the burger is very undercooked and cold I would have expected a cooked burger for that amount of time won't be visiting again.
Was missing a sausage with delivery. Got a refund tho . Food was good
Friendly service cooked me fresh food. They'd ran out of cheese and onion rissols. Great food, one of my regulars. ????
Food okay in fairness. Chips very undercooked but my friend loves them so we went here. Staff another matter though. This was a lovely chip shop when it had different owners and staff. There's always a seriously long wait for anything. They're very rude and ignorant. Probably because I'm not from Llanelli, although I've lived here years. I go to Mr Chips now or wait until one of the kebab shops are open on Sunday.
Very reasonably priced with a very good selection of food items. They have rearranged the sit in eating area to be socially distanced and this was open and in operation on my visit.
Parking is a nightmare as it's on Station Road, a lot of the side streets around the shop are permit holder parking only. Best visited on foot, it is about 5/10 minute walk from town centre.
