Weaknesses:
1. Inconsistent results: One customer expressed disappointment in the outcome of their daughter's hair for prom. They claimed that the stylist rushed the hairstyle and did not meet their expectations based on the pictures provided. This suggests that there may be inconsistencies in the quality of service provided by the stylists.
2. Issues with pricing: Another customer felt that the salon was overpriced, particularly for a silk press. They also mentioned that they did not like the smell of the products used on their hair. This indicates that the salon may need to reassess their pricing strategy and ensure that customers are satisfied with the value they are receiving.
3. Communication and professionalism: Several customers mentioned issues with communication and professionalism. One customer had their appointment cancelled last minute and did not receive a response when they tried to reschedule. Another customer felt that a stylist accepted their appointment knowing they did not have the availability to meet their needs. These instances suggest that there may be lapses in communication and organization within the salon.
4. Lack of attention to detail: One long-time customer mentioned that, as the business has grown, there have been slips in attention to detail. They experienced an issue where their purchased bundles were not available for their appointment, leading to a less satisfactory outcome. This indicates that the salon may need to improve their organizational processes to prevent mistakes from occurring.
In summary, Laid Pretty Boutique has strengths in terms of professionalism, hair expertise, haircare advice, and creating a clean and relaxing environment. However, there are weaknesses regarding inconsistent results, pricing issues, communication and professionalism, and attention to detail. These areas are crucial for the salon's success and should be addressed in order to improve the overall customer experience.

I have been to this salon on multiple occasions and i have had a great experience pretty much every time. Jade has not only done silk presses and beautiful sew ins for me but she also gives me advice on when to do steam treatments and get trims and how to take care of my natural hair. I have to say she has done THE BEST sew in I have ever had in my hair. The girl just does gorgeous hair and is professional. She is very nice and very friendly. I do not usually have to wait very long, of course it's a hair salon, so there will always be some sort of a wait but I've never had a crazy wait time or terrible experience.
My experience here at Laid Pretty was absolutely amazing. I've been to numerous salons but nothing tops this one. I felt so relaxed and the staff were very accommodating to my needs. Ms. Stephanie is the best and such a sweetheart. Sabrina made my hair look so soft and silky, my hair has never felt and looked this beautiful!
My daughter went to get her hair done for Prom she asked for a half up half down sew in with wave curls. Before she even left the shop her curls were already falling and the curls was nothing what I expected or like the pictures I seen on the stylist Jazz page. I was so upset for all of that I could have kept the loose deep wave that the bundles came in. I told my daughter to ask them if they could pin curl it because her curls were already dropping and she didn’t even leave the shop yet. You can tell the stylist rushed her hair she was done curling in 15 minutes and she took big pieces of hair and did loose curls completely opposite of the picture my daughter showed her and all the work on her page. Wave curls seemed to be her specialty so I was surprised by the results she gave my daughter. By the time she got dressed for prom and came out to take pictures her hair was a complete mess. All her curls were gone her real hair was frizzing up she was crying and so upset. The ponytail wasn’t even positioned right it looked like it was a side ponytail instead of to the back. I believe if the stylist would have actually parted more of her hair in the middle instead of just a little bit at the top it would not have kept falling to the front. I paid $200 for her bundles and $175 for the hairstyle a complete waste of money. It did not look professional at all looked like something I could have done. I was very disappointed and surprised that it came out that way. My daughter was so excited for Prom and didn’t even want to go after her hair was such a mess. I will never return to this shop again such a disappointment. She took the hair out the next day a complete waste of money. Thank goodness her makeup and dress was on point.
In response to the owner: to say it was about pricing is an absolute lie. I called the day before to ask how much more for curls and was told $25 and when she got there again you told her $25. It didn’t matter if it was $100 more I was willing to pay whatever it took for her hair to be perfect it’s prom. I put the picture below that she showed you and you did her hair nothing like it. She also said while in the chair you mentioned you had 2 sew-in closures you was behind and had to hurry up so I believe you just rushed my daughter hair because it was horrible. You didn’t place the pony as shown in the picture she showed you it was more to the front the picture which is below is half of the head. You also glued her bundles around the ponytail which ruined the hair, not sure why you would do that she can’t even use the hair again for a different style. Why would you use glue and she got a sew-in. The experience was horrible and the excuses you made saying it was due to pricing is absurd. Very disappointed and a big lesson learned we will never return.
I enjoyed my experience at this salon. Londonyn is amazing! Very friendly and welcoming stylist. The salon is clean and relaxing. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because I do think they are overpriced and I don’t like the smell of the products they use on clients’ hair. My hair came out very nice, but I don’t see why they are charging $100+ for a silk press. Also, they are very focused on getting content for their IG page which can be a little unsettling when you come with no makeup on. Other than that I have no complaints!
My first appointment was amazing with Jade, so I decided to book again. My second appointment was booked 1 month+ in advance and was cancelled 5 hours before my scheduled time due to the stylist being sick. Which I understand, Covid cases are spiking and it’s better to be safe than sorry. However, I was told I would be called back to be reschedule 3 weeks ago and never was. I have emailed and called this establishment and still have not received a response. I’ve asked for my deposit of $45 back and still have not received it. This is very unprofessional and I am extremely disappointed in this business.
I want to initiate this review by making it clear that I have been coming here for over 3 years. I have always felt comfortable and trusted what the salon stood for. They have taken great care of my hair and even with me purchasing their products, my hair growth/journey has been extremely successful which makes me so happy. I initially was being serviced by Jazz, then switched over to Jade as it was more accommodating for my work schedule. They are both great stylists. Booking appointments as of recently have been extremely hard as they are very busy which I can respect as the business grows. It seems as with the business growing, there are also details that are being neglected. I typically get a sew in and purchase their bundles online. I love the bundles and always have. I booked my appointment for 10/23 on 9/2. I purchased the bundles within my appointment. I have always trusted the salon to have my bundles there and ready for when I arrive. I arrived to my appointment on 10/23 and Jade explained to me how my bundles were not there. She did her absolute best, made some calls and I was asked If I could reschedule due to the mistake. I drive 35 minutes to this salon and was getting my hair done for an occasion so rescheduling was not an option for me. Jade was extremely apologetic, and suggested I purchase additional bundles from a local beauty shop. This overall is something that I should not have had to do considering I already made a purchase online a month prior for bundles. Due to the situation, I had to do this. With that being said, Jade did hook me up per the usual, and did a great job although it was not with bundles that I particularly love. She empathized with me and came up with a plan to make the appointment work which I extremely appreciate her for. The payment that I made online was applied to my service which Jade and I agreed was fair. I love her for all of that. I have noticed slip ups like these as it gets busier. As I said previously, I respect the business growing because that is great, but there needs to be someone who is on top of these things to prevent mistakes like these from happening. Saturday put a bit of a bad taste in my mouth but I will continue to see Jade as she is a fabulous stylists and always makes me feel beautiful leaving the salon!
4 star overall. Last visit 2 star (different stylist)! Last visit I didn’t come alone. Called 2 months (app 1 mth before) in advance to make sure the stylist could do natural hair. We get there and everything is fine. Next thing I know she says “oh I don’t specialize in natural hair! I’ll see!” LIKE SERIOUSLY??? Myself and the others I was with just look at each other and was like, I thought this salon specialized In natural hair! My hair was almost done once she made this announcement. If she could not do what what we made the appointment for, we should’ve been told no instead of yes. Not good! 4 star because the customer service is always great. The products are amazing.
I used to frequent this business every two weeks for years as Jazz’s client.
Their IG page boasted a same-day opening. I called to book the slot. Also received a confirmation booking with the services I requested, which included a takedown. Receptionist was also sure to tell me that was extra. Cool - no problem.
I drive over and wait 10 minutes for my appointment to begin. Once I get in the chair, the stylist proceeds to tell me she can’t do the appointment because she has to leave. So she won’t have time to do the takedown. I was furious. Why did the stylist accept my appointment knowing she did not have the availability? It’s not like I misrepresented what I needed done.
I understand things happen, but this was lazy and absolutely disrespectful.
