Quick Facts About M&S Café

M&S Café has several strengths that make it a nice place for customers to visit. Firstly, the café serves pleasant, simple, and filling hot dishes such as toasties and jacket potatoes. These dishes are made with fresh ingredients, and customers appreciate the quality and taste of the food. Additionally, the pricing of the dishes is considered to be well-priced, offering value for money. The portion sizes are also generous, satisfying customers' appetites.
Another strength of the café is its polite and helpful staff. Customers have mentioned that the service provided is always polite, and the staff are happy to assist customers with their needs. This creates a positive and welcoming atmosphere for customers. In addition to the friendly service, the café also offers good in-store wifi, allowing customers to stay connected and browse the internet while enjoying their meal.
The relaxed atmosphere of M&S Café is also highlighted as a strength. Customers appreciate that it is a place where they can come for a relaxed bite to eat without being disturbed. The café provides a peaceful environment, making it an ideal place to meet friends or take a break. The range of drinks available, including great coffee, is also mentioned as another positive aspect of the café.
However, there are also weaknesses that customers have pointed out. One customer complained that the café was almost sold out of sandwiches, indicating that the availability of certain menu items may be limited. This can be disappointing for customers who have their heart set on a particular dish. Another customer mentioned that the wait for hot food was 35 minutes, suggesting that the café may experience delays during busy periods.
In terms of food quality, there are mixed reviews. While some customers enjoy the delicious food, others have had negative experiences. One customer mentioned that their jacket potato was poorly made with minimal filling and undercooked potatoes. Another customer complained about the lack of ingredients in their order, as well as the quality of the chips and bacon roll, stating that they were not worth the price. The inconsistency in food quality and the availability of certain menu items can be viewed as weaknesses of the café.
Additionally, customers have raised concerns about the cleanliness of the toilets, suggesting that the café does not maintain them well. This can impact the overall experience for customers who value cleanliness.
Furthermore, some customers have expressed dissatisfaction with the concept and management of the café. They feel that the café is mismanaged, understaffed, and lacks innovation. The limited availability of menu items and the use of basic ingredients are cited as examples of the café being lazy and underwhelming. Some customers also feel that the café is targeting a specific demographic rather than focusing on providing a high-quality dining experience.
In conclusion, M&S Café has strengths such as pleasant and filling hot dishes with fresh ingredients, polite and helpful staff, good in-store wifi, and a relaxed atmosphere. However, there are weaknesses in terms of limited menu availability, inconsistent food quality, cleanliness issues, and perceived mismanagement. These feedback comments provide insights into the strengths and weaknesses of M&S Café, allowing the café to consider areas for improvement and better cater to customer preferences.

Best TL Reviews

Nice cafe serving pleasant simple, filling hot dishes (toasties, jacket potatoes etc) with fresh ingredients that are well priced and of a good sized portion... Can get slightly busy during the lunch period but service is always polite and the staff are always happy to help/assist, another bonus to those cafe is that they have good in-store wifi... Overall this is a nice place to come for a relaxed bite to eat where you won't be disturbed...
Even at 1215, almost sold out of sandwiches. Wait for hot food 35 mins. No saucers! Wouldn't come again
Lovely cafe. Always delicious food. Really like the jacket potato with prawn and smoked salmon. Lots of vegetarian options too. Nice range of drinks.
Lovely food, great coffee. Quiet and peaceful environment.
My husband and I went here on Wednesday we were over in the Victoria Center so thought why not go into Marks for our lunch. We often stop in the cafe for a cuppa so thought it would be a good place to stop for lunch how wrong we were. The young lady taking orders and making drinks was lovely but unfortunately that is where it stopped. We both ordered a jacket potato with three bean chilli and avocado. When it arrived mine looked they were scrapping the barrel as it wasn't even covered with chilli probably a level tablespoon at the most and that is being polite and generous to them my husband's didn't have much more. The avocado was missing off them both and there was no butter or margarine to speak off. The potatoes were not even cooked properly quite hard still.
I would not recommend Marks for a lunchtime snack coffee and cake yes absolutely fine or a pre pack sandwich but nothing more.
Terrible little availability on menu. All that we choose wraps and chips and filter coffee not available. Had a southern chicken bap, 30 minutes later Unwell with stomach upset! Also Toilets also poorly kept. A lunch time treat ended up as a bit if a miserable experience ☹️
Went on a Saturday morning, the place seemed understaffed and everything we tried to order was either entirely unavailable or parts were said to be missing. I ended up ordering the bacon ciabatta and some chips, which came to 7 quid. My party also ordered some jacket potatoes with Cheese and beans, and was told there was no coleslaw left so they’d replace with..:.extra rocket salad. As for my order, what arrived was a tiny roll with some thin, possibly microwaved bacon and a small bowl of oven chips which tasted like they’d been baked then microwaved to warm up. Bacon roll was ok, but not worth 4 quid. I ate it in 3 bites. The chips were foul. Considering the price AND it being M and S you expect a certain minimum of quality, but this was dire. Also - if you run out of ingredients and you’re literally right next to a supermarket filled with the products you use….there’s no excuse. I’m not knocking the staff - the service was the best thing about this visit - but it just seems to be mismanaged, understaffed and the concept is just so lazy and underwhelming. Seems like they’re coasting on duping moneyed housewives to come and have expensive coffees together and pretend they’re classy. Not good, and won’t come again.
Really nice place to meet friends or just stop and take a break. Lots of nice treats and hot drinks ( coffee and walnut cake is my particular favourite ). Always very clean and tidy which makes a big difference. Staff are always friendly and helpful if a little slow. Overall great place to come .
