Quick Facts About Magic Wok Chinese Restaurant

Magic Wok Chinese Restaurant in Egham has received mostly positive comments about their food and service. However, there are also some criticisms and concerns raised by customers. In this analysis, we will examine the strengths and weaknesses of the restaurant based on the comments provided.
Starting with the strengths, many customers praised the restaurant for its friendly and fast service. The staff were described as great, friendly, and attentive. This demonstrates that the restaurant values customer satisfaction and strives to provide a positive dining experience. Additionally, the fact that no reservation is needed is seen as a positive aspect, allowing customers to walk in and be seated quickly.
The food at Magic Wok is also highlighted as a strength. Comments mention superb duck, delicious hot pot, and fantastic Chinese food. Many customers found the food to be authentic, tasty, and in great portions. The positive feedback on the flavor and portion sizes indicates that the restaurant pays attention to the quality and quantity of their dishes. It is also worth noting that the restaurant offers a complementary bag of prawn crackers, adding value to the dining experience.
Another strength of the restaurant is its cleanliness. Customers mentioned that the restaurant is clean and tidy, which is an important aspect of food establishments. A clean and hygienic environment is crucial for customers to feel comfortable and confident in the food they are consuming.
Furthermore, the availability of nearby parking on Egham High Street, free of charge, is seen as a convenience for customers. Easy access and parking can enhance the overall experience for diners, making it more convenient and enjoyable to visit the restaurant.
Now, turning to the weaknesses or areas of improvement, one recurring criticism is that some dishes lacked proper seasoning or sauce. The shrimp fried rice, for example, was mentioned as needing additional seasoning, while the crispy shredded beef lacked sauce entirely. This suggests that there may be inconsistencies in the taste and preparation of certain dishes, which could be addressed by ensuring proper seasoning and sauce are added consistently.
Another weakness pointed out by a customer is the off-putting sweet and sour sauce that had a brown color instead of the usual red and tasted strongly of vinegar. Consistency in the flavor and presentation of sauces is important to maintain customer expectations and satisfaction.
Additionally, the comment about the food being overpriced is a weakness that the restaurant should address. Pricing plays a significant role in customer perception, and it is important to strike a balance between quality and cost. If customers perceive the food to be too expensive for what it is, it may deter them from returning or recommending the restaurant to others.
Lastly, there were a few negative comments about specific dishes. Some customers mentioned that the prawns tasted frozen and were too oily, while another customer disliked the taste of the recommended chicken dish. These criticisms indicate that there may be inconsistencies in the preparation and quality of certain items on the menu.,
In conclusion, Magic Wok Chinese Restaurant in Egham has several strengths, including friendly and fast service, delicious food in great portions, a clean environment, and convenient parking. However, there are also some weaknesses that should be addressed, such as inconsistencies in seasoning and sauce, off-putting flavors in certain dishes, and concerns about pricing. Overall, the positive comments outweigh the negative ones, suggesting that Magic Wok is a generally well-regarded Chinese restaurant in the area.

Fantastic Chinese Restaurant in Egham.
First of all, their Ice Lemon Tea is the closest thing to Swiss Migros Iced Tea (if you know, you know!)
The shrimp fried rice was fine but needed some additional seasoning for my own taste. Chilli sauce and soy.
The Duck was superb.
I saw a table across from us having “hot pot” and looked truly delicious.
No reservation needed.
Staff were very friendly and fast.
Magic Wok is such a fantastic place to eat out in, parking available nearby in Egham High Street (free). Food was great (although slightly expensive but not as much as overpriced) and in great portions, also pretty authentic. Atmosphere was lovely and staff were friendly. Recommend.
Best Chinese restaurant in the area, by a long way.
We love this Chinese restaurant the staff are great and the food always tastes good ???? service is fast and very friendly. We've dined in and have had take out. The restaurant is clean and tidy .
Ordered crispy shredded beef in chili sauce and sweet and sour prawn balls.
The crispy shredded beef was very crispy, however, this can be explained by the fact that it had virtually no sauce.
The prawn balls themselves were ok but the sweet and sour sauce that came separately was unlike any sweet and sour sauce I've had - it had a brown colour instead of the usual red, wasn't sweet, and tasted and smelled strongly of vinegar. Very off-putting.
Although this particular order is the second worst Chinese meal I have ever ordered, the reasons why I am not giving it 1 star is because they usually give a decent sized complementary bag of prawn crackers, previous orders haven't been as bad (they were average at most), and the food isn't as bad as 1423 China kitchen which is the worst Chinese food I have tasted.
Edit: forgot to mention that the food is very overpriced for what it is.
這間中國餐廳是附近最好食的餐廳,而且中國多方名菜都有,我已經來了兩次,價錢也合理,大大碗的,很不錯,兩人約20英鎊左右,看你叫什麼食。
The foods expensive and oily.
Was recommended the most expensive chicken dish. ( chuan Nan spice chicken) only for it to be fried chicken cartilage drenched in chilli oil and fried to a crisp. Absolutely no flavour but chilli.
And ordered the king prawns which tasted frozen and way too oily
Dead munch overall
Utterly delicious food. Had seaweed, crispy duck, noodle soup, sweet and sour chicken, egg fried rice and chicken balls, as an introduction for my children to this genre of food. So tasty, all of it. Excellent service. Leftovers willingly packed up as takeaway. Prawn crackers for the table, and fortune cookie, orange slices, hot lemon towel and mint to finish up with. Cutlery offered. Attentive but not intrusive waiting staff. Seemed family run and authentic. Very reasonably priced. Well recommended.
