Quick Facts About Marie's Chippy
Marie's Chippy in Widnes has received mostly positive comments from customers, highlighting its traditional fish and chips, tasty food, friendly staff, and reasonable prices. However, there are also a few negative comments, suggesting a decline in quality and limited opening hours. In order to analyze the strengths and weaknesses of Marie's Chippy, we will examine these comments in more detail.
One of the recurring themes in the comments is the traditional nature of Marie's Chippy. Customers appreciate the fact that Marie's focuses solely on fish and chips, without trying to do too many things at once. This specialization suggests that Marie's has mastered the art of making fish and chips, providing high-quality food to its customers.
The positive comments about the taste of the food and the quality of the chips indicate that Marie's Chippy has succeeded in delivering a delicious product. Customers mention that the fish is light and fluffy, the chips are tasty, and the mushy peas are perfect. These favorable reviews speak to the strength of Marie's in terms of the quality and taste of its food.
Another strength highlighted by customers is the friendly staff. Several comments mention the staff's friendliness and their willingness to go the extra mile for customers. The fact that they give free chips to kids while waiting shows a commitment to excellent customer service. The positive customer service experience is an asset for Marie's Chippy, contributing to customer satisfaction and loyalty.
Price is also seen as a strength by customers, with many commenting on the reasonable prices at Marie's Chippy. The fact that customers believe they are getting value for their money suggests that Marie's is offering competitive prices, which can be seen as a strength compared to other fish and chip shops in the area.
However, there are a few weaknesses mentioned in the comments that need to be addressed. One comment suggests that Marie's Chippy serves warmed-up chips that were cooked the day before. This criticism implies a decline in the quality of the food and suggests that Marie's may need to pay more attention to the freshness and preparation of their chips.
Another weakness highlighted in a comment is the limited opening hours of Marie's Chippy. The customer mentions that they can only visit during work time because they live too far away. This limitation in opening hours may be a deterrent for potential customers who cannot visit during the specific times that Marie's is open. Expanding the opening hours to accommodate a wider range of customers could be beneficial for attracting more business.
There is also a comment suggesting that another chippy in the area, Paul's Chippy, serves better food seven days a week. This comment suggests that Marie's Chippy may face competition from other fish and chip shops in the area, and it may need to address the quality of its food and the availability to ensure it remains competitive.
Overall, Marie's Chippy in Widnes has several strengths, including its traditional focus, tasty food, friendly staff, and reasonable prices. However, it also faces some weaknesses in terms of the potential decline in quality, limited opening hours, and competition. To maintain and improve its position in the market, Marie's Chippy should address these weaknesses by ensuring the freshness and preparation of its food, expanding its opening hours to cater to a wider range of customers, and staying competitive with other fish and chip shops in the area.

If ever in widnes call this chippy . Been going here since i was a kid . Good old fashioned chips hop
Traditional Fish and Chips, very tasty, staff lovely and even give kids a little tub of chips for free while waiting.
Marie's used to be the best Fish & Chip Shop in the town but now, just resort to serving warmed up Chips half cooked from the day before. I wouldn't refry a plate of chips I had left uneaten the day before and yet people now accept that from most Chippies.
Paul's Chippy located half a mile up the road (Derby Road) serve much nicer food 7 days a week.
Marie's Chippy is unsurprisingly never very busy any more, a shame because their food used to be amazing.
Quality chippy that just do a traditional chippy menu. Not jacks of all trades, just masters of what they do. Best in the town.
Best chippy in Widnes lovely food and equally nice staff. Good prices just wish they opened every tea time rather than just Thursday and Friday going here for dinner today
Great little chippy, great value for top notch food, fish was lovely, so light and fluffy, amazing curry sauce... Lovely friendly staff... Only downside, can only come during work time as live to far away
The best and nicest chips in Widnes. Mushy peas are perfect as well. People travel from all over to this well known and well loved chippy. Worth a visit.
Marie's is the local "go to" chippy in Widnes, it has been a local buissnes in Widnes for many many years. Even though it's location is off a main road and out of the limelight. It does however create a local secret as mainly Widneseians know of Marie's. The prices are very good and the portions of food are more than fulfilling. Marie's is definitely a piece of Widnes and I reccomend to anyone visiting Widnes to have some fish and chips with mushy peas and gravy
