Quick Facts About Mr Wong's Chinese Takeaway

Mr Wong's Chinese Takeaway place has both strengths and weaknesses based on the comments provided.
Beginning with the strengths, one comment mentions that the mince beef and onion pie, chips, and mushy peas are the best in Pembrokeshire. This suggests that the quality of these specific dishes is commendable and stands out among the competition. Additionally, the portion sizes are described as nice, indicating that customers receive a satisfying amount of food for the price they pay.
The second strength mentioned is the quality of the chips. The comment states that they are reminiscent of the "good old days," implying that they are cooked well and have a crisp texture. This suggests that the takeaway has successfully mastered the art of making delicious chips.
Moving on to the weaknesses, several comments highlight issues with the delivery service. One customer complained about a 2-hour wait for delivery, which is excessively long. Another customer mentioned being told a 45-minute delivery time but had to wait over an hour before being informed that their order hadn't even been cooked yet. These issues with delivery reliability and communication demonstrate a weakness in the takeaway's ability to efficiently manage orders and meet customer expectations.
Another weakness mentioned is the poor quality of the food. One customer described the curry as "thick dark brown" and "only tasted of curry powder." They also mentioned that the rice was cold and the poppadoms were missing. Similarly, another customer stated that the chicken balls tasted off and that the shredded beef was inedible. These comments indicate inconsistent quality in the dishes and suggest that the takeaway may not prioritize the taste and flavor profiles of their food.
The lack of customer service is another weakness highlighted in the comments. One customer mentioned calling the restaurant and only receiving an answering machine. This demonstrates a lack of availability for addressing customer concerns or complaints. Additionally, another comment mentioned feeling disregarded when they expressed their disappointment with the delayed delivery. This implies a lack of empathy or attention to customer satisfaction.
Furthermore, there are mentions of unappetizing food presentation and strange additions to dishes. One customer mentioned that their sweet chili sauce had carrots and lettuce in it, which is unusual and potentially unappealing. Another customer criticized the quality and preparation of the salt and pepper chips and the special fried rice. These complaints highlight a weakness in the takeaway's attention to detail and consistency in flavor and presentation.
Overall, Mr Wong's Chinese Takeaway place has strengths in some dishes and portion sizes, but weaknesses in terms of delivery service, food quality, customer service, and attention to detail. Improvements in these areas would greatly enhance the overall customer experience and potentially increase customer satisfaction and loyalty.

Best TL Reviews

A disappointing 2hr wait for delivery but food was lovely when it finally arrived.
I Ordered at 8pm and I was told 45mins. Rang after an hour to be told it hadn't been cooked and was no problem to them if we wanted to cancel. I explained (politely) it was a problem for me to cancel after waiting for an hour. They said they were very busy and it wouldn't be long but it took over a further hour before it arrived. It was then too late for our children to eat with us. Very disappointed as we ordered over £50 for our family if 4.
The Mince beef and Onion pie Chips and Mushy peas are the best in Pembrokeshire for sure Amazing Chips just like the good old days and nice size Portions
This was absolutely disgusting. Curry was thick dark brown and tasted only of curry powder. Rice was cold. Poppadoms missing and on calling the restaurant, thats all you get is answerphone. Worse meal I have had. Will never be ordering again.
Second time ordering from Mr wongs in blackwood! First time must of been a complete fluke because their chicken curry was lovely first time! Ordered a Chinese from there lastnight pink chicken balls, the bbq sauce well I don't know where they got that must of come out the backside of a cow, no curry sauce on request! Their shredded beef might aswell be called shredded cardboard because it taste foul! In the sweet chilli sauce was carrots and lettuce like WTAF!!! And last but not least I don't think there was a chip on my plate that wasn't capable of breaking my teeth! Absolutely disgusting food! What has changed in 3 years from all those good reviews, absolutely not on! Me and the misses both got dodgy stomachs, probably food poisoning on my behalf, thanks alot????????
Worse food I've ever tasted from top to bottom how they can sell food like this is beyond me never have I done a review to run people down but this tonight ???? was something else hope I don't get food poisoning + to put iceing on the cake waited 145 mins
New customer here - absolutely FOUL! curry sauce like sludge and you can tell it’s powdered. Requested plain beef chow mien they gave with onions and bean sprouts. Pork fried rice was nice but the only nice part. Chicken balls something was off with them unsure what it is… overall meal just for myself was £17 but gave £3 tip and it was foul. Never again will I order from here.
Absolutely foul, where to start...
*Salt and pepper chips - soggy, burnt, tasted like cardboard,
*Special fried rice - tasted like it was cooked in an oil that is a hundred years old,
*Chicken balls where nice but the dough wasn't cooked properly.
* The only thing I enjoyed was the sesame prawn toast.
Been really put off by the place, never again !
Ordered from here about a year ago was quite nice. But tonight's order was flavourless and very peppery so much so it burns you mouth. Ordered special chow, beef fried rice and duck with mushrooms and bbq sauce so shouldn't taste pepper at all
