I have been to the Needham Chippy twice when visiting the area and have really enjoyed the food both times. Have tried both the cod and haddock. The fish was cooked fresh to order both times and was delicious with lovely crispy batter. Staff friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend the fish and chips. I now consider myself the founder member of the Needham Chippy Appreciation Society (Grantham Branch)!
We called in this evening and ordered sausage & chips, and scampi & chips; a nice simple order that should have presented no confusion. After taking the order away we discover that a portion of chips is missing despite ordering and paying for two portions. Very poor service, and a rip off. We will not be returning.
Went in today to order sausage and chips.said will take 20 mins I asked how come it will be 20 mins he replied if I didn’t like it I should leave with the biggest attitude I’ve ever know in terms of customer service. We ended in verbally heated argument over what should have a pleasant service. Will never go again AVOID!! I’m in shock tbh. New management needed. Asap
Excellent fish and chips, curry sauce not to bad either. Friendly, helpful staff. We pr-order and always on time. All I can say is “Just perfect they way they are” ???? thank you Needham Chippy another excellent meal I didn’t have to cook ????
Lovely couple that run the Chippy. Friendly, polite & fish & chips excellent value.
Food is not that bad however such high words can't be said about the owner. The short time I spent waiting in the queue he snapped at a mother and young daughter, told two people they couldn't wait inside without wearing a mask (exempt or not) whilst not wearing a mask himself and got in a flap because the fishcakes would take half hour to cook so that customer had to go home and come back. Nothing was cooked and kept under the hot light which may have prevented that little outburst. I would rather walk a little further up the road next time.
The owner attitude stinks, he insists everyone wears masks, get that but he doesn’t.
The food is good but he is so rude I’d rather walk all the way up the high street in the freezing cold than go there.
Asked if I could have a large cod cooked tonight, pay upfront as he was very busy and come back in 5 mins, just got abuse from him.
How he is still going I don’t know as this is not the first review about his attitude.
The fellow who runs this shop needs to brush up on his manners, should let his wife serve the customers
