Quick Facts About New York Barbers

New York Barbers place, located in the Forest Hills area, has both strengths and weaknesses based on the comments provided. It is important to note that while some reviewers had positive experiences, others had negative experiences, resulting in a mixed perception of the barber shop.
One of the main strengths highlighted in the comments is the skill of the barbers. Several reviewers mentioned that both barbers at New York Barbers place are excellent and skilled, providing high-quality haircuts. The barbers are also described as friendly, taking their time to understand and replicate the desired style shown in pictures. This attention to detail and ability to deliver on customer preferences is seen as a positive aspect of the shop.
Additionally, the tidiness and cleanliness of the shop is commended. Customers appreciate the sanitary conditions, which contribute to a positive overall experience. The customer service is highlighted as being very good, with the barbers being friendly and creating a welcoming atmosphere. The fact that the shop has a strong customer base, with loyal and returning customers, is seen as a testament to the trust and satisfaction people have with the establishment.
Reasonable pricing is mentioned as another strength, with the affordability of the haircuts adding value to the overall experience. This affordability, combined with the skill of the barbers and the clean environment, is seen as a benefit for customers.
However, there are also weaknesses that emerge from the comments. One major complaint is the inconsistency in the skills of the barbers. While some reviewers had positive experiences, others mention receiving subpar haircuts. One reviewer specifically mentions that the barber he encountered was unable to deliver a fade as requested and left his hair looking uneven and improperly cut. This inconsistency in the skills of the barbers raises concerns about the overall quality of the haircuts being offered.
Another weakness highlighted is the lack of professionalism exhibited by one of the barbers. One reviewer describes the barber as being careless, distracted by watching TV, and using the razor in a way that made the customer feel unsafe. The reviewer also mentions that the barber wanted to dismiss him without providing a shape up, requiring the customer to ask for it. This lack of professionalism and attention to detail is seen as a negative aspect of the shop.
Another weakness mentioned is the wait time. One reviewer states that the haircut took longer than expected, which may be inconvenient for customers with time constraints.
Lastly, there is a complaint regarding the pricing of a specific service. One customer mentions that a 12-minute machine beard trim was priced at $30, which they consider to be excessively high.
In conclusion, New York Barbers place has strengths such as skilled barbers, a clean environment, good customer service, and affordable pricing. However, weaknesses include inconsistency in the skills of the barbers, lack of professionalism, longer wait times, and high pricing for certain services. It is important for the salon to address these weaknesses in order to improve customer satisfaction and maintain a positive reputation.

Best TL Reviews

This is the only place in Forest Hills and surrounding area that I patronize. Forest Hills is a very undeserved area for good Barbers, I've tried most of the rest and compared to new york barbershop, they can't cut the mustard or hair,Both of the barbers in New York barbershop are excellent and skilled. The shop is tidy and sanitary. Customer service is very good I highly recommend.
Went here because of positive reviews. Walked in and was quickly seated. I showed a picture of a style I wanted to the older gentlemen he said ok and he made his own style. He began carelessly cutting my hair with the scissors and electric razor. He looked confused and kept changing the attachments on the razor and as he was cutting my hair he kept watching tv. I was very nervous. He stopped once and my hair was a mess I told him to cut a little more cause my hair was long and cut uneven. He began cutting again with the scissors. He tried to dismiss me without even doing a shape up which I had to ask for smh. He began to use the razorblade and boy was that scary. He was using it so loosely on my face I though I was going to get cut. There was nothing professional about this guy. My hair is cut uneven doesn't look like the pic i showed him. Just looks like I put gel in my hair. So disappointed. Charged me $25 and gave him a $5 tip for trying.
First time here. Guy was very friendly and took his time looking over my old pictures so he could cut it exactly how I wanted.
Haircut took a little longer that I expected, but he was very detailed and exacting.
Haircut came out perfect. Would come back again and have no problem highly recommending this place.
30$ for a 12 minutes machine beard trim is truly lalaland
Great place to get a haircut. Affordable price, great service. Both barbers are friendly and good at their craft. Great neighborhood gem!
Good barber shop. Guys are very busy, with a lot of loyal customers. It means that people trust this place and want to back here again. I got an amazing haircut here for the first time in years.
They are nice people for sure. But not all barbers have the same skills and unfortunately I got the one that can't do a fade. Showed him a picture of how I wanted my hair and also said the specifics as well. He nodded and seemed super confident.
The old man was nice but man oh man. Asked for a skin fade and my hair turned out looking like it's grown out about 2 weeks. 5 mins in and you can already tell he doesn't have the techniques as the other 2 barbers in the shop. Also, the man cut my scalp and it bled with a razor! Next time if you can't do a particular cut.... Let the customer know so they don't have to spend $25 on something they can get at supercut.
Will update review if owner reaches out.
Having come from Westchester County and living in Queens for 2 years, I spent my first year and a half going back home to get my haircuts. After realizing that I needed to look for a spot closer to my new home, I inquired a bit online by looking at reviews and asking several people. Believe me, I know how nerve-wracking it can be to try new barbers.
I found some spots online but it was at that point I realized I should ask a friend of mine who always had a fresh fade and haircut every time I saw him. He directed me to New York Barbers on Queens Blvd.
Been going here for about 6 months and every time I go it’s exceptional service by high quality barbers. Friendly atmosphere with reasonable wait times. They do everything from skin fades to tapers to scissor cuts, and they do it to the T. I get compliments on my haircuts. I once heard someone say in the shop that it’s the best barber establishment in Forest Hills and I can believe it.
