Quick Facts About Nostalgia Tea Rooms

Nostalgia Tea Rooms receives overwhelmingly positive comments, with customers praising the friendly staff, excellent service, and delicious food. The decor, reminiscent of Downton Abbey, is also highly appreciated, adding to a wonderful experience for customers. The strengths of Nostalgia Tea Rooms can be summarized as follows:
1. Outstanding Service: Many customers mention the exceptional customer service they receive at Nostalgia Tea Rooms. Staff members are described as friendly, easy to talk to, and attentive. This level of service contributes to a positive dining experience for customers and creates a welcoming atmosphere in the tea rooms.
2. Delicious Food: The menu at Nostalgia Tea Rooms is highly praised for its quality and variety. Customers mention enjoying a great cooked breakfast, afternoon tea, and a range of gluten-free and vegetarian options. Specific items like scones, cakes, and apple pie are repeatedly highlighted as exceptional. The food offerings contribute to the overall satisfaction of customers and make Nostalgia Tea Rooms a desirable destination for brunch, afternoon tea, or snacks.
3. Beautiful Decor: The nostalgic and period-style decor is widely loved by customers. The tea rooms give off a sense of going back in time, with period costumes worn by the waitresses, retro-themed decorations, and period music playing in the background. The ambiance created by the decor enhances the overall experience and adds to the unique charm of Nostalgia Tea Rooms.
4. Highly Recommended: Many customers mention that they would highly recommend Nostalgia Tea Rooms to others. The positive reviews and recommendations serve as a testament to the quality of the establishment and its ability to consistently deliver a great dining experience.
However, there are a few weaknesses or areas for improvement that can be extracted from the comments:
1. Pricing Policy: One customer mentions that the pricing policy of displaying non-VAT inclusive prices can be annoying and misleading. They suggest that VAT should be included in the displayed pricing to avoid confusion and customers feeling conned. Addressing this concern by adjusting the pricing policy can help to improve customer satisfaction.
2. Staircase Accessibility: A customer points out that the steep staircase leading to the tea rooms can be a challenge. They suggest installing a lift to increase accessibility and potentially attract more customers. Adding a lift or exploring alternative solutions to improve accessibility can benefit the business in the long run.
In conclusion, Nostalgia Tea Rooms excels in providing outstanding service, offering delicious food, and creating a beautiful atmosphere with its nostalgic decor. The positive attributes of the establishment outweigh the few areas for improvement, making it a highly recommended destination for those looking for a unique and enjoyable dining experience.

Best TL Reviews

Had a fantastic brunch at the Nostalgia Tea rooms and sad to to see the notice the owners will be retiring at the end of April and wish them all best of luck and for new owners. The service was excellent and a great cooked breakfast and afternoon tea had by all! Loved the decor and downtown abbey style clothes the waitresses wore. Wonderful experience.
Absolutely love this place! Super friendly staff who are so easy to talk to. Food is always spot on, and they had plenty of gluten free and veggie options available, even cakes and scones! Amazing! We got to meet the two new owners and they’ve done an exceptional job, kept the beautiful atmosphere and are two super lovely ladies! We cannot recommend this hidden gem enough!
Thankyou so much Nostalgia Tea Rooms here in Southport for a fantastic afternoon tea. This I have to say was one of the best or the best afternoon teas I've ever had . Just incredibly good ???? ???????????????? the afternoon tea for 2 was lovely. But I must say the 5 star customer service from all the staff it was unbelievably good , they are a credit to Nostalgia tea rooms thankyou.
Thankyou from Clive and Sheila xx
Really glad we found this hidden gem. Small entrance off Lord Street and steep stairs up but the sign that says, "The climb is worth it" us completely right. All five of us enjoyed our food and felt it was a relaxed place. Must mention the chips which were spot-on and delicious, the scones were buttery and heaven to eat and the apple pie we bought to take home was the best we'd ever tasted. The same went for the mini Victoria sponge cakes. The staff were pleasant and the toilets were spotless and fresh. My brother and partner were visiting and counted this as another reason to come back. Just a shame not open for breakfast on Monday morning - but appreciate you can't be there every day!
Went for a proper full English and they well and truly delivered. Been a few times recently and it's definitely our number one place. Superb food, brilliant service and all round good atmosphere. Spoke to the new owners, Margaret and Rebecca, and they're lovely, so down to earth and easy to talk to. Already planning our next visit, the Caramel lattes are calling our names!
We have been going there for many years with excellent service, great food and sensible prices. Today slightly disappointed, scone very cold, small amount of jam and cream....... when it came to paying we thought it would be as per the price list, sadly not.....plus 20% VAT previously included in the price, I think your menu prices need to be adjusted £7.50 for a BLT plus VAT makes it rather expensive.
Old school cool! A hidden gem that you will miss if you blink!
We stumbled upon this place whilst looking for somewhere for a snack.
Polite, welcoming, and attentitive staff dressed in period costume, period decor, and period music all contributed to the retro theme and ambience.
A proper pot of tea with a separate jug of hot water was so refreshing.
We only had a snack, but it was very enjoyable non the less and nicely presented.
I would have given 5 stars, but I have to down mark for the annoying practice of "extras" being added to the bill. They have a strange policy of presenting non-VAT inclusive pricing.
This means that your expected bill is suddenly increased by 20%.
VAT should be inclusive in displayed pricing. A very bad business strategy as it alienates unsuspecting customers who feel conned and irritating to those who are aware of it.
It is certainly a place that we would have no hesitation in visiting again and would recommend to others, allbeit with the VAT caveat.
Called into day what a place its absalutly brilliant. The food was first class the service was also first class fantastic decor, like steppung back in time. The one point against is is the steep staircase
the place needs a lift put in, this would increase the custom. Apart from that one point you have to go there and try it out, you will not be disapointed. The menue prices are very reasonable.
