Quick Facts About Octopus Lounge
Octopus Lounge Place, located on the Riverfront Walk, has received a mix of positive and negative feedback from its customers. While some customers praise the amazing food and friendly staff, others express disappointment with certain aspects of their experience. In order to analyze the strengths and weaknesses of Octopus Lounge, it is important to consider the various comments provided.
One of the main strengths highlighted by customers is the quality of the ice cream. Multiple customers mention that the in-house ice creams are "honestly amazing," and that they will continue to visit specifically for the ice cream. This indicates that Octopus Lounge excels in creating delicious and high-quality desserts.
Another strength mentioned by customers is the friendly and helpful staff. Customers appreciate the positive interactions they had with the staff, noting their politeness and willingness to go above and beyond. This indicates that Octopus Lounge prioritizes good customer service and creates a welcoming atmosphere for its patrons.
The fact that Octopus Lounge is dog-friendly is also seen as a strength. Customers mention that they were able to bring their dogs and even get treats for them. This shows that Octopus Lounge caters to a wider audience and considers the needs of pet owners.
On the other hand, there are several weaknesses pointed out by customers. One major concern is the quality of the food. Customers who ordered pizzas were disappointed with the small amount of toppings, with one customer mentioning that there were only 8 thin pepperoni slices on each pizza. Additionally, some customers received cold food, indicating a potential issue with insulation during delivery. These weaknesses suggest that Octopus Lounge needs to work on improving the consistency and quality of their food.
Another weakness highlighted by customers is the lack of maintenance in certain areas of the establishment. Customers mention that they did not see any bins, which could be inconvenient for disposing of waste. Additionally, the customer toilets were described as in need of maintenance, with issues such as doors not opening properly, poorly attached locks, and poorly installed flooring. These maintenance issues create a negative impression and may deter potential customers.
One customer expressed disappointment with the afternoon tea experience, noting the high price in relation to the poor quality. The customer mentions specific issues such as the lack of proper teaware, limited clotted cream for a large scone, and flavorless desserts. This suggests that Octopus Lounge may need to reevaluate their offerings for afternoon tea and ensure that the quality matches the price.
In conclusion, Octopus Lounge has both strengths and weaknesses based on the comments provided. The strengths include the amazing ice cream, friendly staff, and dog-friendly environment. However, the weaknesses lie in the quality and consistency of the food, lack of maintenance in certain areas, and the disappointing afternoon tea experience. Addressing these weaknesses would be crucial for Octopus Lounge to enhance its overall customer experience and reputation.

We ordered with delivery for the first time today, and were so disappointed with our pizzas. They were basically just cheese, with a very small topping on (exactly 8 thin pepperoni slices on each pizza). The rest of our orders (panini's, burgers and pizzas) arrived cold, but we assumed this is maybe a lack of insulation etc. as it's a new service. Such a shame, as the in house ice creams are honestly amazing. We'll probably only pop in for ice creams when we're passing, and avoid using for actual food orders in future.
(Just to clarify, we did call to check, and were assured that all these pizzas had exactly 8 slices of pepperoni on, and that it was to keep the price low...Not the end of the world, just not what we had in mind when we ordered pizzas!)
In reply to the response, yes it is a shame it wasn't hot, though that was not my complaint (the marathon was running today, and as stated this is a new service.) I still rated three stars for the reasons given, and feel it's a very fair review to be honest. I don't like to add issues unnecessarily when there may be genuine reasons for small issues, especially for local businesses, which is why I rang to check the pizza topping was intentional. It didn't seem particularly helpful to complain about the temperature, given the likelihood of unavoidable circumstances. And yes, we are close...Not really sure how to be any fairer in my review! It was, as I said, 'not the end of the world, just not what we had in mind when we ordered pizzas!'.
Nice little stop on the Riverfront Walk with some really nice ice cream. Didn’t see any bins anywhere, which is odd, and the customer toilets could do with some maintenance. The first door doesn’t open all the way, the internal door’s lock isn’t properly attached and the flooring is poorly installed. Staff were friendly and happy to help.
Absolutely amazing food, they do the world's best burgers ???? ????, staff always polite and friendly and will go above and beyond for what you need! Also dog friendly so really handy while out with your dog!! Lush place couldn't recommend enough, we've dined in and also had delivey many times, definitely our favourite place to go xx
Stopped in today while walking the dog. Had two coffee’s and was able to get treats for my dog and ice cream for him while we watched the runners go past in the half marathon. Service was fast and friendly and can’t believe how reasonable priced it was. Food and prices on the menu look amazing can’t wait to go back and try again
Great new ice cream place that's just opened up. Selling Joe's ice cream along with other desserts. The chocolate orange ice cream is probably the best I've ever tasted and their cheesecakes are delicious too
Named after the old ???? octopus ???? bridge which previously occupied this area. Fresh coffees, snacks and plans for special meals and themed nights.
Worth supporting this local enterprise over the usual restaurant chains .
We had afternoon tea at the Octopus cafe today and unfortunately was really disappointed. For the price I feel it was very poor. No cup and saucer or a pot for tea, very little clotted cream to go with the huge scone (which was lovely actually), no jam. The sandwich’s were ok, the cheesecake in the jar was flavourless and then had this strange after taste on the cake or biscuit at the bottom. The mini Victoria sponge was just awful. They also gave us a Prosecco jelly, which was thoughtful but o just couldn’t eat it.
It was such a shame because the staff were absolutely lovely, and you can tell that whoever put the afternoon tea together had tried hard to make it interesting but it really wasn’t great.
I think this place has the potential to be amazing, but maybe not in the afternoon tea market.
Love the Octopus Lounge, little local gem. Recomend the bacon bree and cranberry panini. Met up with some lovely people for a Sausage Dog Walk. Was great fun :)
