Is everything perfect? No, but it doesn't matter. Portuguese Grill is a place you must visit! The food is delicious, and the atmosphere is unique. We tried a variety of grilled sandwiches with chicken, peppers, fried egg and beef, yum! Ok, I would have appreciated some ice for the water and soft drinks, but never mind.
Brilliant place, what a pleasant surprise!
The food was tasty (we had the meat on a skewer), freshly cooked, and had more than enough for £10 each. Because of the wait (cooked from fresh) we were given 2 lots of tasty nibbles.
But maybe best of all was the young waitress, a real breath of fresh air.
The absolute worse experience I had in the past 10 years all around. We came in, past the waitress, who happily ignored us, waited around until a colleague spotted us and told us to find a table. We sat down and waited for it to be emptied, they did but had to ask explicitly for menus as they forgot about us. Lot of options weren't available or there was a 45 waiting time for chicken (!!!). They took the order , brought the drinks, spilled it on my husband forgot the glass and after we've waited for our food past everyone around us ( a jacked potato and a schnitzel:) ) and they reassured us out food is next , they came back to ask us if we had ordered food and what was it :)) ironically it was the same order that took the order. Granted the universe had given us all the signs to leave before this and we ignored them, eventually we realized and went on, paid our drinks and will never come back. And no, there was no attempt of them to be relieved from paying the drinks after the awful experience , they did apologies though :))

First time here, really nice atmosphere, all day breakfasts as well as a variety of meals and nice cakes. Good coffee.. Plenty of seating.
Being portuguese, one of the things I miss the most is the food. I saw it as I was walking by and I had to go in and try a taste of home. The Bifana is one of the best things you'll ever eat: a seasoned thin pork steak with an egg in a typical Portuguese bread roll. It's to die for! I can't recommend it enough! Obrigado!
I live in London and I go to Littlehampton often and my highlight has to be the Portuguese Grill!!!!
There is a splendid community feeling, from the Manager addressing almost every customer by name and vice versa to the friendliness of the waiters.
The place is spotless, which is very reassuring.
The food , especially seafood, is always fresh and of good quality.
The prices are very competitive, location is great.
There is off-street parking around the restaurant. The restaurant is within walking distance from the train station.
There are lots of healthy and vegetarian options.
A superb place to bring the whole family!!
