Quick Facts About St. George's Plaice
St. George's Plaice has several strengths and weaknesses based on the comments provided.
One of the strengths mentioned is the service. One customer mentioned that the service was good and that the woman serving was nice. This indicates that the staff at St. George's Plaice are friendly and attentive to their customers, which can contribute to a positive dining experience.
Another strength mentioned is the fish and curry sauce. Despite the negative comments about other aspects of the food, a few customers did mention that the fish and curry sauce were okay. This suggests that there may be some quality aspects to the food offered at the restaurant.
However, the weaknesses of St. George's Plaice seem to outweigh the strengths based on the comments provided. One major weakness is the high prices. Multiple customers mentioned that the food was overpriced and not worth the cost. One customer mentioned being charged £4.90 for a regular portion of chips, which they felt was a rip-off. Another customer mentioned being charged £38 for three fish and chips and one additional item, which they deemed to be excessive. These comments indicate that St. George's Plaice may not offer good value for money.
Another weakness mentioned is the quality of the food. Multiple customers commented on the poor quality of the food, particularly the fish and chips. One customer described the fish as being fried within an inch of its life with excessively thick batter, potentially using Yorkshire Pudding mix instead of traditional batter. Another customer mentioned that the chips were frozen and not freshly cooked. These comments suggest that the food at St. George's Plaice may not meet expectations in terms of freshness and taste.
The lack of payment options is also mentioned as a weakness. One customer mentioned that St. George's Plaice only accepts card payments, which was inconvenient for them as they had saved up cash for their visit to Llandudno. This may deter customers who prefer or rely on cash payments, potentially limiting the customer base for the restaurant.
Another weakness mentioned is the lack of variety or availability of certain items. One customer mentioned that they had no sausage for their dog, forcing them to buy a fishcake instead and spend more than expected. Another customer mentioned that the burger lacked salad or sauce. These comments suggest that St. George's Plaice may have limited options or inconsistencies in their menu, which can lead to customer dissatisfaction.
The overall consensus from the comments is a negative one, with multiple customers advising others to avoid St. George's Plaice. Comments such as "AVOID AT ALL COSTS" and "Worst chippy I have ever been!" indicate a strong level of dissatisfaction with the restaurant. These negative reviews can significantly impact the reputation and success of St. George's Plaice.
In conclusion, while St. George's Plaice may have friendly service and some decent menu items such as the fish and curry sauce, the weaknesses outweigh the strengths. The high prices, poor quality of food, limited payment options, and lack of variety all contribute to a negative dining experience. Based on the comments provided, it is difficult to recommend St. George's Plaice as a place to dine.

complete rip off!! £4.90 for a regular chips(about 25 chips) and what someone calls a portion of gravy. felt like i’d been mugged. Could not recommend and certainly will not be returning.
Shocking. As Manager of a Fish & Chip Restaurant, Takeaway. I'm appalled at the quality of the food this guy is passing off as Fish & Chips. £38 for 3 Fish & Chips & 1 Chips,Peas & Gravy. Ok where in a Seaside town on a Bank Holiday but come on. Fish was fried within an inch of its life with 20mm Batter, sorry (Yorkshire Pudding mix). To top it off they only accept Card payment. Service was slow, staff were rude. If this was my Team I would be horrified. It's a crying shame as there was a que a mile long not knowing what they were letting them selves into. I myself & my family were some of those people. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. He's only got one Star as I cant give him Zero. Get your act together my friend. Your establishment is a Shambles. Only wish I'd read the Reviews before hand.
Not the fresh food or salad. I don't mind spending money on food but better fresh not for three days ago or in the freezer. Never come back and even got a Halal certificate.
Despite the currency being legal tender they refused to take my £20 paper note for payment, So I had to use my card. I had saved up for my visit to Llandudno in cash as many local food places only accept it, so this was a major pain for me. The lady serving was less than accommodating over the issue also. Chips were ok but they had no sausage for my dog, so had to buy a fishcake, do spent more than expected. Other better chippies are available!
This has got to be the worst chippy I have every been!. After being changed 25 quid for 2 lots of fish chips peas/curry I thought it must be amazing ! How wrong was I …claims to be peeled and cooked from fresh potato’s however they were frozen chips throw in the fryer for 4 mins !! .. the batter on the fish was that thick I could have made a coat from it ! . The curry sauce was basically salt with food colouring .I would safely say avoid this chippy at all cost.
Visited this chip shop on 9th Sept. for fish & chip takeout at around 3pm. Fish was so horrible and the batter was very soggy indeed like bread. Thought it was near seaside and fish must be pretty fresh. Very upset. Not cheap either.
Awful. What a real let down. Not proper chips. They claim to be 100% potato....erm not sure about that and definitely frozen. I really wouldn't waste your hard earned cash. The fish was okay and curry sauce, I'll give them that, but I wouldn't bother otherwise. The service wasn't great either kept getting orders mixed up. Yeah maybe busy but they should be used to it. Hope people see the reviews before they get disappointed. Wish we did!!!
Expensive food, genuinely overpriced, the chips aren't cut in the shop but actually seem to be oven chips, and the burger looks proper weak, no salad or sauce, service was good and the woman was nice, but avoid like the plague.
