Quick Facts About The Palm House

The Palm House is a place that has many strengths, making it an attractive option for both adults and children. One of its strengths is the lovely team who work there, as mentioned by multiple reviewers. Their hospitality and helpfulness in leading customers to an outside seating area is appreciated and creates a positive atmosphere for visitors.
The wide range of food options is another strength of The Palm House. Customers mention that they received menus with options for vegetarians, gluten-free diets, and standard diets, which shows that the establishment is inclusive and caters to various dietary needs. The choice of food ranges from savory to sweet, with particular praise given to the excellent waffles, crepes, and sandwiches. This variety ensures that there is something for everyone, enhancing the overall dining experience.
The indoor and outdoor play areas are also highly praised in the comments. The fact that these areas are great in all weathers is a significant advantage, as it means that families can enjoy their visit regardless of the conditions outside. There is an admission fee for unlimited playtime, which offers value for money, and the play areas are mentioned as being suitable for both adults and kids. This feature makes The Palm House a family-friendly destination where children can have fun and parents can relax.
The Palm House also benefits from its dog-friendly policy, which is appreciated by dog owners in the comments. The fact that the staff welcome dogs and even offer them biscuits shows that they care about the comfort and happiness of all guests, including four-legged ones. This policy sets The Palm House apart from other establishments and makes it a desirable choice for dog owners.
The venue's convenient location is another strength. Reviewers mention that there is parking right outside, making it easy for customers to access. This factor adds to the overall convenience and accessibility of The Palm House, particularly for those with young children or mobility issues.
The cleanliness and tidiness of the establishment are also mentioned positively in a comment. The staff ensure that the seating areas and toilets are clean, with potties available for little ones. This attention to cleanliness enhances the overall experience for visitors, making them feel comfortable and well taken care of.
However, there are also some weaknesses that can be identified from the comments. One reviewer mentions that the prices at The Palm House are a little on the steep side, particularly pointing out a £3.50 frappe. This may deter some customers who are looking for more affordable options, especially in a family-friendly establishment.
Another comment suggests that the cream tea could be improved by serving real butter. While this may seem like a minor detail, it can affect the overall quality and taste of the food. Paying attention to small details like this can elevate the dining experience and contribute to customer satisfaction.
In conclusion, The Palm House has numerous strengths that make it an appealing choice for visitors. The lovely team, extensive food options, indoor and outdoor play areas, dog-friendly policy, convenient location, and cleanliness all contribute to a positive experience. However, it is important to address the weaknesses mentioned regarding the prices and the cream tea to ensure customer satisfaction and maintain the reputation of The Palm House as a hidden gem in Weymouth.

Lovely team who led us to an outside seating area. Vegetarian, gluten free and standard menus given out. So much choice from savoury to sweet. The waffles and crepes were excellent as was the sandwiches etc. Afterwards, we went for a walk around the lakes and RSPB centre.
One of my favourite places to take my son when we’re in Weymouth seeing family
Great food options for both adults and kids and a small admission fee for unlimited play time

We always visit the Palm House when in Weymouth for 2 reasons. One that it is dog friendly and we have 3 dogs who are always welcomed , even got a biscuit each. 2 the food is lovely. Not too long a wait. I especially like the choice of pancakes and waffles..
It's also very child friendly with and indoor and outdoor play areas. You can eat inside or out. Highly recommended. Convenient parking right outside.
Would rather not review this place so highly as it’s a peaceful hidden gem for food & drinks in the heart of Weymouth!
But it’s ace, friendly staff, clean and tidy, outside seating or cozy indoor sofas, spotless toilets with potty’s for little ones.
Varied menu of food & drinks, 3 adults & 2 kids, we had 2 cream teas, a stack of pancakes with bacon & syrup, crepes with lashings of cream & chocolate & a bacon, Brie & cranberry panini, with a bottle of beer, ice tea with all the trimmings.
Would recommend and will return, wish you all the best.
Very polite staff and perfect for if you need breakfast. Lots of seating areas and extremely kid friendly.
Great place to relax in and catch up with family and friends while the children play safely. A great array of food on offer from cooked breakfast to homemade cakes
Visited here today with my daughter and grandson, it was very busy as you'd expect during half term. We are regular visitors here, they have a loyalty scheme for the children's play area and for hot drinks. Which we save up for our 'umbrella fund'.
The palm house has had the windows replaced so it's not so cold as it used to be, as it is a Victorian greenhouse.
The toys get updated once in a while and it would be nice for the palm house to be considered when people are having a clear out. There is an outside area with seating and artificial grass for those who are not fully walking, I think this gives it a nice touch.
The venue also has a small function room available to hire which is perfect for baby showers.
I do find the prices a little on the steep side £3.50 for a frappe, the cream tea is nice, however could be improved by serving real butter.
Overall worth a visit with children under the age of 5.
