Weaknesses:
1. Order mistakes: One comment mentions that the order was incorrect, with the customer receiving chicken instead of king prawn chow mein. This indicates a potential weakness in their order accuracy, which can lead to customer dissatisfaction.
2. Food quality inconsistency: One comment states that the spring rolls used to have a thin and crispy pastry but are now thicker and not as good. Another customer experienced sickness after eating their food. These incidents suggest that there may be inconsistencies in the quality of their dishes, leading to a lack of reliability.
3. Portion size: A customer mentions being disappointed by the small portion size of their Cantonese Combo, which they felt did not match the expectation of a Cantonese dish. This raises concerns over portion control and whether customers are getting value for their money.
4. Unresponsive to complaints: One negative comment highlights that when the customer complained about their order, the staff did not seem bothered and did not offer a refund. This indicates a lack of responsiveness and customer care, potentially leading to dissatisfaction and loss of future business.
5. Limited menu information: One comment mentions that it was difficult to order over the phone without knowing what was available, suggesting that the menu information may not be adequately communicated. This can be a barrier to customers making informed choices and could potentially lead to missed sales opportunities.
In conclusion, while Rickshaw Boy has strengths such as delicious food, a great location, and positive customer service, there are weaknesses regarding order accuracy, food quality consistency, portion size, responsiveness to complaints, and limited menu information. Addressing these weaknesses could further enhance the overall customer experience and solidify Rickshaw Boy's reputation as one of the best Chinese takeaways in the area.
Best TL Reviews
This is one of the best Chinese takeaways around in my opinion. I regularly used to get some food and eat it over looking the harbour. I can really recommend their Salt & Pepper Chilli Chicken ????????, also their curries are good.
Terrible. Firstly they got the order wrong. Asked for King prawn chow mein and got chicken. Girlfriend had chicken black bean. Within 1 hour of eating it she was violently sick. Was ill 8 times and didn't sleep. Chips were awful. Dry and tasteless. Ended up binning them. One Chinese to avoid. Even after phoning up to complain the staff didn't seem bothered. Didn't even offer a refund. Very disappointing.
Used to be better than it is now, sadly. Spring rolls had a wonderfully thin crispy pastry(?) covering, now that is thicker and not nearly as good - please go back to how you used to make them, guys! Tasty mushroom curry but last time (about 6 months ago..) I was v.sick afterwards and I don't know for sure
if it was that (don't know what else it coulda been) but I'm hesitant to buy again.
Always was our 'go to' Chinese. 10yrs +.Very rare not to have 1 a wk. Partner usually has same, tonight I ordered Cantonese Combo. 9 pieces meat in total 3 duck 3 pork 3chk. Wouldn't cover palm of my hand together! Nothing Cantonese about it. Mass noodles, 2 pieces onion. Rang to complain, informed this is it! Over £7+. Disappointed is an understatement! Oh well, Ping, we will take our business elsewhere.
We were stopping in the local premier inn and had a delivery. The food was gorgeous and still quite hot - which is always a bonus. Very pleased. Great service and value from start to finish.
Unreal. Best Chinese takeaway we've ever had and a shame we were only visiting on holiday. Super friendly on the phone and when delivering.
Been using Rickshaw Boy for several years and they never disappoint. Food is always fantastic and the service is great. Best Chinese in the bay!!
Excellent food, just fancied this whilst we were ready to go back home from our holiday, read reviews that this was one of the best take aways in paignton- wasn't wrong. Added the menu as it was difficult to order on the phone having no idea as to what they did- for anyone else in the same position. Make note, prices might have changed since I uploaded these
