Quick Facts About Rocky Point Nails
Rocky Point Nails is a nail salon that offers a variety of services, including gel manicures and pedicures. While there are some positive reviews, there are also several negative comments that highlight the strengths and weaknesses of the establishment.
One of the strengths mentioned by a customer is the efficiency and prompt service provided by the salon. Despite being a walk-in customer during a busy time, they were taken care of immediately. This suggests that the staff at Rocky Point Nails are well-organized and able to manage a high volume of customers.
Another positive aspect mentioned is the inclusion of a massage during the nail services. This extra touch adds a level of relaxation and pampering to the experience, making it more enjoyable for customers.
In terms of the actual nail services, there were mixed reviews. Some customers were satisfied with the results and found their nails to be well-done. They praised the quality of the work and were happy with the outcome. However, other customers experienced issues with the polish. One customer noticed that the color started disappearing the day after the treatment, while another customer found the polish to be semi-sheer and not painted well. These comments suggest a lack of consistency in the application and longevity of the polish, which can be considered a weakness of the salon.
Another negative aspect highlighted by multiple customers is the additional charges for certain services. One customer mentioned being charged extra for a color change, even though it was a result of the salon's mistake. Another customer mentioned being charged extra for cutting her nails during a gel removal process. These additional charges, especially when not clearly communicated, can leave customers feeling taken advantage of and dissatisfied with the overall experience.
Poor customer service is also mentioned in several comments. One customer reported feeling treated like garbage because she was only spending $5 for a gel removal. Another customer mentioned being rushed and experiencing a cut without proper care from the staff. These instances of rude behavior, unprofessionalism, and mistreatment can significantly impact the overall perception of the salon and its strengths.
Lastly, pricing is mentioned by multiple customers. While some customers find the prices to be fair and worth it for the quality of service received, others feel that the salon is overpriced. One customer was charged $74 for a clear manicure and gel pedicure, which they believed to be too expensive. This discrepancy in pricing perception can be seen as a weakness for the salon, as it might deter potential customers who feel that the services are not worth the cost.
In conclusion, Rocky Point Nails has both strengths and weaknesses based on the comments provided. The salon's efficiency, inclusion of a massage, and positive results for some customers can be considered its strengths. However, there are weaknesses in the inconsistent application and longevity of polish, additional charges for certain services, poor customer service, and pricing perception. These factors should be taken into account when considering whether to visit Rocky Point Nails.

I had a gel pedicure and gel manicure. I picked an OPI color and the next day the color started disappearing as if they added acetone to their polishes. I went back That next day and they had me choose a different color. They repainted my nails only (not my toes) and I tipped them again. The polish on my nails is also now starting to look semi sheer and not well painted. When I went back the third time and asked them to open a brand new polish, they told me I have to pay extra for them to do my feet and hands again. DO NOT waste your TIME or MONEY @RockyPointNails!
I really enjoyed this place. It was my first time and I was a walk in so didn't know how long I'd have to wait as it was fairly busy but they took me right away. I got a massage while getting nails done and it was absolutely wonderful. My nails came out great and I got a spa pedicure done. I told the manicurist I needed to be done by a certain time and I was unable to get my toes done but she said come back the following day or so when I had time and she would do them free of charge. All the people there were kind and professional. I throughly recommend this place!
I’m a regular customer for simple manicures and I was impressed until I did gel nails for my birthday trip, they looked beautiful but when I came back to just have them removed because of my job, I was told it’s $5. Which is perfectly fine. But the girl felt that I wasn’t a valued customer because I’m not paying much so instead of soaking my nails, she used the drill and made my nails look awful, scratched. After asking 5 times if I only wanted to remove the gel I said okay can you cut them, I was charged an extra $5 without being told just for cutting them and leaving them looking awful. I was so disheartened because after this I will never come back for manicures or gel nails again. I felt treated like garbage just because I was only spending $5, when I’m a regular and pay more the other times.
Very sad. I’ll be going elsewhere where they don't butcher my nails.
This is unfortunately the first and last time I go there. I understand some don’t speak English that well but they couldn’t understand what I was trying to tell them. The lady was rushing and cut my finger while filing the nail and just continued putting the acrylic on without cleaning the blood off so the blood dried up and you can see the blood inside the acrylic. No good.
After the services were finished and I paid. I gave the girl the cash tip. As I was walking out, they were yelling at me about the tip?? I was confused and I have them telling me to write a tip amount down on receipt. I already tipped the girl cash. They wanted me to tip the guy for a 10min shoulder rub! Which they charged me 12$ for! Unbelievable! You can not force someone to give a tip and act like it's a charged service! I'm never going there again! Disrespectful and very unprofessional.
I went here for almost 3 years, once they hired the new manager (the girl who sits at the front) i never went back. She is rude, obnoxious and over pricing everything. She charged me $5 to literally file my nails a touch shorter, she’s slapped my hand to get my attention, she has pulled and shoved my hands to the point the paint got messed up and she blamed me for it. she bully’s customers and is down right rude to the staff. I am so happy i left, the manager is horrible. Worst place ever, went so downhill!!! The manager should be fired
I would not go to Rocky point nails ever again. It was my first time walking in, and all I wanted was a clear manicure and a gel pedicure not even spa pedicure and was charged $74 plus I gave the manicurist five dollar tip for the manicure and five dollar tip for the pedicure. Which I thought was fair. The lady at the front actually ran out as I was in the parking lot and said “you didn’t tip” which I did. Very unprofessional I will never go there again please save your money and go elsewhere!!! They don’t even deserve one star.
They do an amazing job, I love their pedicures. They are on the pricey side but to me it’s worth it. I recently moved out of NY and I cannot find a nail place to do half the job that they do. I went home for a visit and made it a point to go get my nails done. I will return every trip home just for that wonderful pedicure.
