Quick Facts About Sea Garden Chop Suey House

Sea Garden Chop Suey House is a Chinese restaurant that appears to have mixed reviews from customers. Based on the comments provided, it is evident that the restaurant has both strengths and weaknesses.
Starting with the strengths, many customers have commented on the friendly and family-run nature of the business. This suggests that the restaurant has a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Additionally, some customers have expressed satisfaction with the portions of food, stating that there is a good amount provided. This could indicate that Sea Garden Chop Suey House offers value for money. Furthermore, a long-term customer mentions that they have been using the restaurant for over 20 years without disappointment. This loyalty from customers suggests that the restaurant has previously provided satisfactory meals.
However, there are several weaknesses highlighted by customers. One common complaint is the quality of the food. Multiple comments mention specific dishes, such as the salt and chilli chips, noodles, spring rolls, and Cantonese crispy chicken, either being burnt, lacking flavor, rubbery, or having an odd taste. This suggests a lack of consistency and attention to detail in the food preparation process. Another criticism is that the restaurant has declined in quality since being taken over by new owners. This indicates that changes in management may have affected the overall experience for customers.
Additionally, one customer claims that the restaurant has become complacent and is serving subpar food. The comment suggests that the food is greasy, with poorly cooked rice and chips, and suggests that the oil used may be old and in need of changing. Another complaint is about the sweet and sour chicken dish containing prawn, which was not listed in the description and caused an allergic reaction. This indicates a lack of attention to allergens and may pose a risk to customers with dietary restrictions. Additionally, one customer mentions that they received the wrong type of spare ribs, further suggesting possible issues with accuracy and attention to detail.
In terms of delivery, one customer mentions that the order arrived quickly but was of poor quality. The chips, curry, and prawns were burnt, the rice was dry, and the food appeared to be rushed and overcooked. This indicates a lack of care in the preparation and presentation of dishes for delivery orders.
Overall, Sea Garden Chop Suey House seems to have some weaknesses that need to be addressed. Issues with food quality, attention to detail, and consistency have been mentioned by multiple customers. On the positive side, the restaurant is praised for its friendly and family-run atmosphere, as well as offering good portion sizes and attracting long-term customers. However, improvements need to be made to ensure that customers consistently receive satisfactory and flavorful meals.

Best TL Reviews

Salt and chilli chips burnt, weird residue on the noodles looked like they had sat and then been reheated. Spring rolls rubbery and old. Cantonese crispy chicken absolutely no taste and rubbery meat.
Food was ok, wasn't much flavour good portions though
Been used by myself and family for over 20years. However been advised that it has been taken over. Last meal purchased would suggest this as one of the worse Chinese meals I have had. On this occasion there were 6 family member none of who had a good word for the dish they had selected. Happiest family members were the dogs as they had lots of left overs.
Friendly, Family run Business. So tasty. Love - Special friend rice, Beef curry, Chicken curry, Beef & ginger, Barbeque Ribs, Sweet & Sour Chicken and the Duck. To name just of few. We've never been disappointed with anything we've tried. Big Thankyou Alan, Ashley and Dominic X
This place used to be pretty good but I’d suggest the owner has got somewhat complacent . Honestly if you are happy with the slopp getting dished out here these days you may as well eat pedegree chum. Ordered a simple dish last night of sweet and sour chicken, rice, chips and a side of spring rolls which was nothing short of discraceful. Spring rolls greasy with no fillings & squashed into box so much they were flat. You would think the chef had stood on the box they were that bad. As for the sweet and sour ‘chicken’...the first bite I took grease ran down my chin and then an overpowering seafood taste filled my mouth. On dissecting the battered chicken ball and picking through the slimy contents I discovered prawn..which I am allergic to! Fortunately the rest of the balls contained chicken but the batter was so full of grease we couldn’t eat them. Even the rice was bad and undercooked and the chips hollow and greasy - god knows when the oil was last changed in their kitchen. Most of the meal went in the bin and woke up feeling sick through the night due to consumption of excess grease. How hard can it be to cook the food they do every day correctly? This is the second bad meal in a row from here as we thought we would give it a second chance as everyone has a bad day and but this place gives Chinese cooking a bad name. Discusting.
So Disappointed at this chinese takeaway tonight!! We have been buying from this place for years!! But tonight I ordered the Hot n Sour Spare Ribs! They normally are long thin ribs with the lovely hot n sour sauce!!. Tonight they were All little short ones Curved at the ends!! Iv kept them and photographed them because they not right!!!
