Quick Facts About Michael's Fish Bar

Michael's Fish Bar has several strengths that contribute to its positive reputation. One of the main strengths is its convenient location near the canal. This makes it easily accessible for those who are fishing or boating in the area, attracting a steady flow of customers. Additionally, the fact that the shop was busy during multiple visits indicates that it is popular among locals and visitors alike.
The staff at Michael's Fish Bar also receive praise for being helpful and pleasant. Friendly customer service is always a strength for any establishment, as it creates a welcoming atmosphere and leaves patrons with a positive impression. Customers appreciate the staff's willingness to assist and the overall positive experience this creates.
The quality of the food at Michael's Fish Bar is consistently praised, particularly the fish options. Both the cod and battered sausage are described as lovely and wonderful, indicating that the shop excels in preparing these dishes. The generous portions also receive positive feedback, with one customer even advising future visitors to come hungry. This suggests that the shop provides good value for money and ensures that customers leave satisfied.
Furthermore, the flexibility to take the food to the pub garden next door is seen as a strength. This allows customers to enjoy their meal in a different setting, accompanied by a beer or two. The availability of this option enhances the overall dining experience and adds to the convenience and enjoyment of the visit.
Despite these strengths, there are a few weaknesses identified in the comments. One customer mentions that the chips could have been better, specifically criticizing the abundance of small scraps. While this may be a minor gripe, it highlights an area where the shop could improve. Maintaining consistent quality across all aspects of the meal, including the chips, is important for overall customer satisfaction.
Another comment mentions the existence of a small queue, although it moves quickly. While the quick service is commendable, the fact that there is always a queue may indicate that the shop is understaffed or that the demand exceeds their capacity at times. This could potentially lead to longer wait times during peak periods and could be seen as a weakness.
In summary, Michael's Fish Bar has several strengths that contribute to its positive reputation. The convenient location, helpful staff, delicious food, and generous portions all contribute to its popularity among customers. However, there are areas for improvement, such as the quality of the chips and potentially addressing any staffing issues to reduce wait times. Overall, the positive comments reflect a strong and well-loved fish and chip shop.

Best TL Reviews

A nice little fish and chip shop near the canal. They were busy both times I visited. The staff were very helpful and pleasant. Both my fish and then next time my battered sausage were lovely. Got lots of chips. My only small gripe was the chips could have been better. Lots of small scraps.
Fishing with grandson nearby. So popped in for food. Absolutely wonderful cod! Chips were so tasty and not full of bits.
Great chippy, always nice cod, kebabs are brilliant and friendly staff.
Great food. Can take it in the pub garden next door to eat with a beer or two. Always a small queue but moves really quickly to get served. Recommended.
The best fish and chips, and they give extremely generous portions of everything! Make sure you're really hungry!! ????
Beautiful fish and chips only a short walk from the canal, what a treasure compared with the over priced and over packaged but under cooked excuse that some pass as a meal. Will definitely call in every time we pass through. The staff were friendly and courteous.6 stars
My favourite place to go. Amazing food and good vegetarian choices too.
Moored up on my narrowboat, specifically to buy lunch at this chippy, based on endless positive reviews. Fish and chips were even better than expected - and my expectations were high. Outstanding quality and absolutely enormous portions!
