Quick Facts About SEN Luxury Nails Spa in L’Enfant Plaza, Washington DC

SEN Luxury Nails Spa in L’Enfant Plaza, Washington DC, has several strengths and weaknesses based on the comments.
Starting with the strengths, one commenter mentioned that the foot massage and pedicure were great. This indicates that the spa provides high-quality pedicure services and has skilled technicians who are capable of delivering a relaxing and enjoyable experience. Another positive aspect mentioned was the convenient location of the spa, close to food, metro, and bus stops. This makes it easily accessible for customers and can attract tourists or individuals who are exploring the area.
Moving on to the weaknesses, multiple commenters expressed dissatisfaction with their manicure services. One customer mentioned that they had requested a French manicure but received a poorly done version with an unrounded white tip. Additionally, the customer's nails were cut shorter than desired. These experiences suggest a lack of attention to detail and an inability to fulfill specific requests.
The poor quality of the manicure services is further highlighted by another customer who received a dip set. They described the application as lumpy and careless, with the technician rushing and even causing injury. This lack of technique and skill in the application process is a significant weakness, as it reflects poorly on the spa's ability to provide professional and well-executed services.
Moreover, the commenter mentioned that when they expressed their dissatisfaction and requested a removal of the powder, the technician refused and simply stated they were going home. This lack of willingness to rectify mistakes or accommodate customer concerns can lead to a negative experience and potentially damage the spa's reputation.
Another weakness highlighted by a different customer was the apparent lack of redeeming a Groupon and the hostile attitude of the staff. They felt scolded and received a poorly done manicure. This suggests a lack of customer service skills and an unwillingness to address customer complaints or issues.
Furthermore, one customer encountered a roach during their visit, which is a significant health and hygiene concern. The presence of roaches can be highly off-putting and raises questions about the cleanliness and maintenance of the salon.
Overall, SEN Luxury Nails Spa in L’Enfant Plaza has strengths in areas such as foot massage, pedicures, and its convenient location. However, it has significant weaknesses in the quality of manicures, attention to detail, customer service, and hygiene. These weaknesses can lead to dissatisfied customers and negative reviews, ultimately impacting the reputation and success of the salon.

Absolutely do not recommend. Came in for a gel manicure, started off just wanting a nice gold colour but they didn’t have the colour I picked so decided to go with a French manicure instead. This was a mistake. They didn’t even paint a nude base layer, so it is literally just my normal nail with a line of white. I asked them to make the white tip rounded and they simply couldn’t, I tried asking again and then just gave up, I think they didn’t know how to make it round or something. They also cut my nails way shorter than I wanted which I’m really upset about as they had been so long. The whole thing costs $57. This is also more expensive than other places I’ve been in DC that we’re much better (they upcharged to take off my previous gel). Such a waste of time and money, going to go home and paint over them. Also they were terribly rushed as they were trying to take more clients then they could handle. Overall bad experience.
First of all I came in on New Year’s Eve which was scheduled the day before. I was told to be there at noon and found the business closed. I called the number on the website and the technician told me she was on her way but wouldn’t arrive for 15 mins. Initially, I came in for a pedicure and decided to get a full set at the last minute. Pedicure went very well so I was not concerned about the nails until the process started. I had concerns during the process which I addressed with the technician. She said she would fix my concerns, but she didn’t. I was there for three hours for a pedi/full set and the out it was horrible. The nails are extra thick and crooked. She put a design on them simulator her nails (which were very nicely done) but the design was clumpy and sloppy. I do not recommend this salon
DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME. I got a dip set and she applied it so lumpy and careless. I tried to see if she could redeem herself and smooth it out but she had no type of technique she was just drilling away. She even cut the speed up trying to rush and kept losing control hitting my finger and cuticles nearly cutting me. I told her I did not like how it came out and if she could remove the powder and just put gel polish, she said no I'm going home. I removed the powder with barely any help just a bowl of acetone and a paper towel. I never experienced a nail salon like this and now I see why it's always empty. I work upstairs and I'm so disappointed because I desperately wanted for them to be at least decent, I wouldn't even let them clip my toenails at this point.
Would not recommend. Got gel manicures, first of got scolded by the man who worked there and I’m not sure why. Brought in a groupon that they would not redeem because supposedly the person who would deal with them no longer worked there. Mani poorly and badly done. Do not and I repeat waste your money there.
Great foot massage and pedicure!
Perfect stop after many hours of sightseeing, especially from the time spent at the Spy Museum. Also conveniently near food, metro, and bus stops.
I went here for a pedicure and dip nail manicure. My pedicure was really good, very detailed and overall really nice. However when it came time for my nails I felt the technique used was very sloppy and rushed (instead of dipping the wet brush into powder, she dusted my nails with the powder). Meanwhile another woman was also getting dip nails and the technician did a very thorough job. Please avoid getting a dip manicure from the young female technician with a heart necklace. ( There were no name tags, she appears to do a lot of talking on the behalf of the business)
Update: 7/29- my nail coloring is already coming off after 4 days, just ridiculous.
I WOULD HAVE GIVEN A ZERO. I typically don’t write bad reviews but this was one for the books. Came in with perfectly shaped, ALMOND nails from a previous nail salon.
The first person to start my nails didn’t look confident in removing the sns/powder I currently had. I was greeted by a ROACH during this already uncomfortable experience. First red flag.
Then another lady shows up and twirls in chatting with and distracting the other, visibly novice lady. The Twirler takes over and that’s when it went awry. She had no concept of how to shape nails, for starters. I had almond when I arrived. I have an ASSORTMENT of ILL-SHAPED nails after. Second red flag.
After I informed The Twirler that she was not doing my nails to my satisfaction, she angrily calls over Anthony ( the only person who was professional enough to provide a name), begins yelling and threw down her nail file. After their exchange, she finished her underwhelming attempt at a manicure, with a deadpanned look on her face.
I explained to Anthony that this was the WORST EXPERIENCE I’ve ever had and he offered me a minuscule discount on my next service. WHY WOULD I RETURN? Stop offering discounts. I’m not interested in a discount, I’m interested in a great salon experience and a beautiful finished product! It’s rather insulting for you all to assume that 10% or 20% or extra designs will make up for a subpar job.
While I was there, other patrons came in saying their manicures were faulty after only 1 day and they too WERE GREETED BY ROACHES!
I’ve since read an assortment of negative reviews on this place. Anthony, no need for apologies or to invite me for another manicure or request that I send an email or call the store. I am not interested. You all need to work on, not only your customer service service skills, but the overall QUALITY of NAIL SERVICE as well.
I would have given a ZERO had I the opportunity.
Found this salon on Groupon. Figured I’d give it a try since they had good reviews, but unfortunately had the worst nail experience of my life. I had a full acrylic set with gel, which is my go-to service. The nail tech applied the acrylic with ZERO technique and just lumped on the acrylic and then attempted to buff/sand it down. What I ended up with were uneven lengths, lumpy and bumpy acrylics, varying thickness and no natural curvature, and inconsistent shaping. The photos truly do not do it justice of how bad it was. After only 4 days on having the nails they already started lifting so I ripped them all off, which was relatively easy which I believe was due to the application being done so poorly.
