Quick Facts About Seventeen

Seventeen Place, based on the comments provided, has several strengths that make it a popular choice among customers. These strengths include:
1. Quality Coffee and Desserts: The Americano coffee was described as rich and strong, indicating that the café serves high-quality coffee. The desserts, such as the crumble and custard, were praised for their generous portions and beautiful presentation. This indicates that Seventeen Place excels in providing delectable desserts that customers enjoy.
2. Homely Atmosphere: The café was described as "homely," suggesting that it has a warm and welcoming ambience. Allowing customers to stay and chat even after other customers have left indicates a relaxed and inviting environment. This feature may appeal to customers who are looking for a cozy place to spend time with friends or simply enjoy a cup of coffee alone.
3. Catering Service: The café has a catering service that received positive feedback. Customers mentioned that the food provided for a family funeral was lovely, with numerous compliments received. The waitress was also described as helpful and friendly, indicating good customer service. This strength implies that Seventeen Place can be relied upon for catering events, whether it be a funeral or any other gathering.
4. Customer Service: Several comments mention the attentive and friendly staff. Whether it is the waitress at the catering service or the lady serving lunch, customers consistently praise the staff for their helpful and personable nature. This strength indicates that the café values customer satisfaction and goes above and beyond to provide a positive dining experience.
5. Varied Menu: Seventeen Place offers a wide range of dishes to suit all tastes, according to one comment. This variety ensures that customers can find something they enjoy, whether they are looking for a snack, a coffee, or a full meal. The inclusion of vegetarian or vegan options could further enhance the menu and attract a diverse customer base.
6. Afternoon Tea: The café received high praise for its afternoon tea, with comments emphasizing the abundance of food options. Customers mentioned enjoying items beyond the traditional sandwiches and scones, such as quiche, wraps, sausage rolls, and meringues. This strength suggests that Seventeen Place provides a generous and diverse afternoon tea experience that exceeds expectations.
Despite these strengths, there are a few potential weaknesses that can be inferred from the comments. However, it is important to note that these weaknesses are not explicitly mentioned and are based on assumptions and interpretations.
1. Limited Outdoor Seating: One comment mentions sitting outside at a table in the sun, which could imply that the café has limited outdoor seating. This may result in a lack of available seating during peak times and potentially lead to longer waiting times or a need to make reservations in advance.
2. Relocation: The comment about the café migrating to the center during lockdown suggests that the café had to relocate due to external circumstances. While this is not inherently a weakness, it may have caused confusion for customers who were used to finding the café in a different location. It is possible that the relocation affected the visibility and accessibility of the café, potentially impacting customer traffic.
In conclusion, Seventeen Place has several strengths that contribute to its positive reputation. These include high-quality coffee and desserts, a homely atmosphere, a catering service, excellent customer service, a varied menu, and a renowned afternoon tea experience. While there are a few potential weaknesses, such as limited outdoor seating and a relocation during lockdown, the strengths highlighted by customers outweigh these potential shortcomings. Overall, Seventeen Place appears to be a popular choice among customers who appreciate its food, service, and inviting atmosphere.

Best TL Reviews

My friend suggested meeting here and it didn't disappoint. We enjoyed a rich strong Americano each. The desserts were great! I had crumble and custard. Really generous portions beautifully plated. They let us stay on chatting after other customers left. Really homely. Would definitely go back.
Used the catering service for a family funeral. Couldn’t fault it. Had lots of comments about how lovely the food was. Waitress was very helpful and friendly too. Would definitely recommend
I had these for my husbands 70th just before Christmas. The food and service were fab. I then used Seventeen for the venue and had a high tea/party for my Mam's 80th. Again, the food and staff were fabulous. The before and after care are next to none and the staff go above and beyond. I also like to point out that they were in the middle of a referb and still went that extra mile for all of my guests and my needs. We have since been for a meal and also for Sunday lunch there and loved those too. Well done to all the staff and the owner. All fresh and home cooked food! This place is so worth a try.
Had the chance to stop for lunch and as there was a table outside opted to sit in the sun with a nice cold fanta.
I ordered a hot beef sandwich with chips and wasn't disappointed, a good chunky home cooked beef sub with a generous portion of fresh cut chips smothered in around half a gallon of gravy, I really enjoyed it.
The lady serving was very nice and seemed to know many of the customers, some who were waiting outside for takeaway which I took as a good sign.
I would certainly go back????
The best afternoon tea I have ever had x really excellent
Loads of savoury food and cakes were delicious
Staff fantastic
Will definitely go back
Me and three friends had afternoon tea here and it was amazing. We didnt just get a few sandwiches and scones there was quiche, wraps, sausage rolls, meringues, fruit. Fantastic! See you all again soon.
Lovely cafe. Excellent food, hot chocolate was gorgeous with a mountain of marshmallows. Superb chips and a great selection of tasty puddings.
Would recommend booking a table in advance if you are a larger group.
This is a wonderful place for a coffee - a snack - or a main meal.
Everything cooked freshly with generous portions and a wide range of dishes to suit all tastes.
It used to be on the East Side of the village as part of the garden centre but migrated to the centre during the lockdown - we serendipitously rediscovered it on a stroll about - the manager remembered us from 3 years ago - we had just gone in for a coffee but couldn't resist the savoury treats on offer hit beef baguette with onions and gravy with salad for my wife I had the same with added chips which I ranked as high as the Chester Moor chips - which is my highest accolade.
