Excellent garden centre selling an extensive range of quality plants & products for the garden & home. Everything is well laid out, the staff & owner and friendly, helpful and knowledgeable and there is a large cafe for quality refreshments with toilet facilities. Visited today and had lunch. Beautiful surroundings, great service and plentiful wholesome tasty food. Fabulous selection of cakes that we couldn't resist taking one home each.
Great garden centre with lots to look at and a great place to get an unusual gift, with cards, candles, ceramic, jewellery and much more.
A very enjoyable way to spend a couple of hours.
Used to be a beautiful garden centre with a good cafe. They had stopped serving food at 3pm (lunch time) which was disappointing. Service was fine but the tables were dirty, just with a napkin and cutlery put out, clearly hadn't been wiped and the floor was dirty, nobody had sweeped. Very disappointing for somewhere we used to come frequently for a lunch
It is local to home and a pleasant walk to reach the centre which has grown over the years. Lots of plants and gardening equipment too.!
The Xmas display is always fun but we usually go for lunch (served quickly on a good day ) and we love the new butcher department. There’s cake, bread, dairy products and a whole range of food so though it’s not particularly cheap to buy some items we enjoy supporting it.
The garden centre was ready for Christmas and it was nice to look round the decorations, it was great for young and old alike. We had lunch sat in the conservatory, food was great, service and staff friendly and helpful.
Plenty of indoor and outdoor plants, gardening equipment along with sections dedicated to clothing and food.
We’ll worth a visit.
I like this garden centre. It has a well laid out tarmac car park. The garden centre is much bigger than it looks from the outside. It had a big area for outdoor plants and flowers, as well as ornaments and plant pots. It also has a range of tools and soils/addatives. It is well laid out and easy to navigate around. Inside is even more interesting (or was for me anyway!). It has little sections including house plants (not as much selection as the outdoor plants but it is better than some I've been to), a farm shop with baked goods and beer, kids toys and puzzles and candles/ornaments. Some bits seemed expensive while other bits were reasonable. I've already decided this is where I will go to make Christmas hampers for friends and family. Charming place with a lot inside. Staff were nice too.
We visited the cafe on recommendation from a friend today, to find a warm a bustling atmosphere. We were quickly escorted to our table and then ignored for 20 minutes. We even waved and locked eyes with our original waitress, who just hurried past. My husband eventually asked the man who manned the entrance if we could order. He swiftly got a waitress and our full meals including puddings and drinks were prdered and paid for. The mains
appeared but not the starter or drinks. Overall the food was OK but the service was lacking. Won't be returning.
Fantastic, good parking, bedding plants, shrubs and baskets aplenty. Then onto food hall, had a good mooch around and it proved too much observing the tasty meals wafting the aromas, so we quickly got sat down in an alcove.
Went with 2 Soups of the Day, which was Spinach and coconut with some warm bread and butter.
Then for mains:-
Mum had Jacket Potato with Prawn and lemon coleslaw.
Dad and I had a Flatbread with Chargrilled Mexican Chicken, chips and coleslaw, very tasty and filling too. Accompanied with coffee and cream and pot of tea for two.
**Update 22/10/2022**
The Christmas decorations and fixtures are in process of being added. Looking very good indeed.
